Maybe I really am a Villian

Chapter 194 - 12 December

Amelia looked at her mother for a few seconds, as if trying to determine whether something was wrong, but eventually nodded.

"Alright, Mother."

She then lay back down and slowly closed her eyes.

Cassie remained awake, however, her thoughts still returning to the strange dream and the vision she had experienced two days ago. She couldn’t shake the feeling that remembering that particular incident after so many years was not a coincidence.

After making sure that Amelia had fallen asleep, Cassie cast a spell over her, ensuring that nothing would disturb her sleep.

Only then did Cassie get up and quietly leave the room.

She moved to another room nearby.

It was a quiet and empty room, with nothing inside except a few simple furnishings. Cassie closed the door behind her and stood there in silence, finally allowing herself to think about the strange dream and the vision she had experienced two days ago.

Cassie then sat down in a lotus position and began trying to see the future.

At first, she focused on a point ten years ahead, hoping to determine when the future she had witnessed would actually come to pass.

But the moment she tried to look that far ahead, she saw nothing.

Only darkness.

Cassie’s body trembled slightly as she saw the darkness. She already knew what it meant.

If her vision showed nothing beyond that point, then according to the limits of her ability, she would no longer be alive in that future.

Cassie continued looking into the future, gradually moving closer to the present. Now that she knew the incident would occur within the next ten years, she began narrowing down the time period.

She kept trying to see further into the future, moving backward year by year, but all she could see was darkness. No matter how many times she tried, the future remained completely obscured.

Then, finally, she found the point in the future where the events from her previous vision would actually take place.

The moment she saw it, all color drained from her face.

Cassie slowly turned toward the window and looked outside, her eyes staring beyond what an ordinary person could ever perceive. As an Immortal-rank cultivator, her senses allowed her to observe things far beyond the limits of normal humans.

Disbelief filled her eyes.

The world outside the window was peaceful.

It was night, and everything appeared completely normal.

There was no destruction, no chaos, and no sign of the horrifying future she had just witnessed.

Everything was peaceful.

And somehow, that was what frightened Cassie the most.

There was no sign of any fracture in the sky.

No demonic being stood above the city. There was no sign of any battle, no destruction, and certainly no endless horde of demons covering the horizon.

Cassie stared outside the window in disbelief before finally muttering, "How can all of that happen in such a short amount of time? Just where did that horde of demons even come from?"

She continued thinking about what she had seen in the vision.

"They shouldn’t even have that many demons in the entire Demon Continent. Even if they gathered every demon from there, it still wouldn’t amount to the number I saw in that vision. It’s only been ten years since the last war, and they suffered enormous losses back then."

At first, Cassie had simply assumed that the future she saw was far beyond the next ten years, perhaps during another great war between humans and demons.

But she had been wrong.

Far too wrong.

The future she had witnessed wasn’t some distant possibility separated from the present by centuries. It was much closer than she had ever imagined.

Her thoughts were in turmoil. This was not something she could solve alone, especially when she still didn’t know the reason behind the entire incident.

The only thing she could do now was share the future she had seen with others and try to uncover the reason behind that war before it happened.

In Aetherium Academy.

Asher’s room.

Asher had just stepped out of the virtual reality game he had been playing. He took a bottle of juice from his subspace and took a slow sip before walking toward the balcony.

As soon as he stepped outside, a cold breeze touched his face, carrying with it the quiet atmosphere of the early morning.

Asher looked out from the balcony. It was already four in the morning, and most of the Academy was completely quiet. The lights of the various buildings were still glowing in the darkness, while only a few students could be seen moving around.

Some were probably heading out for their usual training, while others were likely preparing for the classes that would begin later that morning.

Asher looked at the atmosphere around him for a while, quietly observing the Academy beneath the night sky before saying, "Winter is about to start soon. It’s already the last week of September, and my birthday is only two months away now."

He took another sip of his juice and continued looking into the distance.

A quiet laugh escaped him before he said, "The birthday of a being who isn’t even alive. How ironic. And what a coincidence... December 12th was also the day when I first died."

For a moment, Asher remained silent, letting the thought settle in his mind. The date carried a strange meaning for him, one that connected the end of his first life with the beginning of his new life that awaited him now.

He then paused before speaking in a firm tone.

"But this time, this birthday will be different. It will be the day when I finally become alive again."

Asher looked toward the distant horizon, his thoughts already turning toward the plans he needed to complete before that day arrived.

After a brief silence, he continued, "These next two months will either be the shortest two months of my life... or the longest,it will all depend on tye person who will try to stop me".
