I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 199: Crimson Aura

The moment Logan heard those words, an overwhelming sense of dread gripped his heart. Leon could feel Logan’s anxiety as well.

’They’re here for her? But why?’

Neither question had an answer.

"Kill him, Damian," the swordsman said coldly. "Teach him the price of coveting an Angel."

At those words, the one with the lance stepped forward.

An overwhelming pressure descended upon the nine men like a mountain. Their knees buckled one after another as they collapsed to the ground.

Only Logan remained standing. He gritted his teeth and forced himself to stay on his feet. "What do you mean by coveting an angel?" Logan demanded. "And what business do you have with Ariana?"

Damian sneered. "What difference will it make? You’re about to die anyway." He slowly walked toward Logan, his eyes filled with contempt. "But I will still entertain you a bit. At least you’ll have something to brag about in the afterlife. The woman you believed was just another ordinary mortal... the woman you thought was as insignificant as you..." A cruel smile spread across his face as he kept walking toward Logan at an unhurried pace.

"...is an angel. A real angel, the kind people only read about in stories."

He stopped a few meters away.

"So tell me...

Do you really think someone like you deserves her?"

The moment those words fell...

Whoooosh!

Damian lunged forward like a bolt of lightning, his lance piercing through the air toward Logan.

Logan instinctively raised his greatsword to defend.

Yet deep down...

He knew this attack would kill him.

His opponent was a Martial Warrior. He was merely a Martial Apprentice. The gap between their cultivation realms was simply too great.

The eight surviving men shut their eyes, unable to bear witnessing what was about to happen.

A disdainful smile appeared on Damian’s face as his lance collided with the greatsword.

Booooooom!

A thunderous explosion echoed across the battlefield.

Logan’s body was blasted away.

Snap!

Snap!

Snap!

One tree after another shattered as his body crashed through them before crashing into the rocky wall of a nearby mountain. Logan slowly slid down the rocky wall.

Seeing that, Damian lowered his lance and turned around.

But then...

"Cough!

Cough!"

A coughing sound echoed behind him.

Damian froze.

Logan slowly pushed himself back to his feet.

Everyone stood stunned.

The eight men kneeling on the ground.

Damian.

Even the swordsman.

"He’s alive?" The same thought echoed through everyone’s mind.

Some shouted it aloud.

Some whispered it under their breath.

Others could only stare in disbelief.

Logan himself was equally bewildered. He lowered his gaze to the greatsword in his hands.

Apart from the old marks already etched across its surface...

There wasn’t even a single new scratch.

"This sword..." he whispered. "It saved me again."

Logan slowly raised his head and looked toward Damian. Just as he was about to charge...

Just as Damian was also preparing to launch another attack, unwilling to accept the embarrassment of failing to kill a mere Martial Apprentice...

A heart-wrenching scream tore through the air.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!"

Everyone instinctively turned toward the source.

In the distance...

The green orc stood with one foot planted on Ariana’s abdomen as she lay sprawled across the ground.

The monster twisted its foot mercilessly. Fresh blood gushed from Ariana’s mouth.

A deep wound could be seen across the orc’s chest. It was obvious Ariana had inflicted that injury, completely enraging the monster.

The orc no longer intended to take her back.

It wanted only one thing.

Her death.

The monster raised its foot once more... Then stomped down with all its strength.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Another agonizing scream echoed across the village.

Logan’s eyes turned bloodshot. Something inside him snapped. Without a moment’s hesitation, he shot forward like a starving predator.

Damian frowned. "His aura..." He swung his lance.

Logan swung the greatsword as well.

Clanggggg!

Logan was forced back more than ten meters, his boots carving deep trenches into the ground.

Damian, however, remained rooted in place like an immovable mountain.

Yet his expression was filled with disbelief.

"What the hell...?" he muttered.

By all rights... Logan should have at least been blasted away again, even if not falling dead right away.

Instead, he had merely been pushed back.

Meanwhile, Logan tightened his grip on the greatsword. A crimson aura slowly began leaking from his body. Veins bulged in his forehead as his gaze locked on Damian.

The next instant...

He charged again.

Whoooosh!

The massive blade hummed as it sliced through the air.

Damian released a strike of his own.

Clanggggg!

Steel met steel.

Crack!

Schlk!

Two distinct sounds echoed one after another.

Logan stood behind Damian, the two facing opposite directions.

Damian slowly lowered his eyes.

His lance...

Had shattered into countless pieces.

He was still struggling to comprehend what had happened...

When he suddenly saw the world split in two.

Thud!

Damian’s body had been cut cleanly in half. The two halves collapsed in opposite directions, kicking up clouds of dust.

Without sparing his defeated opponent a single glance, Logan shot toward Ariana at full speed.

Behind him...

Everyone remained frozen in place. Their expressions were no different from those of people who had just witnessed a ghost.

But the swordsman reacted almost instantly and charged toward Logan.

Just as Logan was about to reach the orc and swing his greatsword, he heard something whistle through the air from his left.

His right foot planted firmly on the ground as he twisted, bringing the greatsword to his side to block the incoming attack.

Clangggggg!

A loud metallic sound echoed as the impact sent Logan flying off his feet. He tumbled across the dirt before finally coming to a stop.

The swordsman had no intention of giving him even a moment to recover. He lunged forward once more, pressing the attack relentlessly.

Chaos had descended upon the village.

Jackals rampaged through the streets, slaughtering and devouring anyone they caught.

The orc continued mercilessly torturing Ariana.

And Logan struggled desperately to reach her.

And Leon... He could do nothing but watch it all unfold, barely keeping the boiling rage inside him under control.
