Chapter 134: Honorary President of the human alliance
Vladimir led Victor through the wide aisle of the grand banquet hall, weaving past floating tables laden with rare cosmic delicacies, spirit wines, and shimmering fruit gathered from distant star systems.
Countless eyes followed Victor’s every movement, filled with a mix of awe, envy, and deep curiosity. The atmosphere in the hall was electric, heavy with the weight of ancient power and cosmic politics, as supreme beings from across the universe mingled under the radiant light of hanging crystal nebulae.
The representatives of the Cosmic Human Alliance were gathered near the eastern balcony, standing near a massive arched window that overlooked the glowing capital city. A cool cosmic breeze drifted through the balcony arches, carrying the faint scent of star blossoms, but it did nothing to soothe the palpable tension surrounding the small group.
Sitting around a floating obsidian table was the group of seven human cultivators. Every single one of them exuded an underlying nervousness, their postures stiff and their eyes flickering with tense expectation.
They knew the immense weight of this moment for the future of their entire species. At the head of the table sat Vice President Carmen Jack. As a galactic overlord, his commanding presence was undeniable, yet his aura was visibly constrained by the obvious anxiety in his gaze.
Beside him sat two younger cultivators, a young man with a proud demeanor and a young woman with sharp, attentive eyes, along with four other delegates. All six of them boasted cultivations in the galactic or quasar realms, making them formidable figures in their own territories, yet here they appeared as cautious as travelers treading on thin ice.
The moment Victor and Vladimir drew near, the human representatives stood up in unison. The scrape of their high chairs against the polished marble floor echoed softly before being drowned out by the ambient music of the hall. Their movements were swift, disciplined, and filled with the utmost respect as they adjusted their dark blue robes embroidered with starry constellations.
"Greeting Your Highness, Vladmir and Victor Walker. I am Carmen Jack, the vice president of the cosmic human alliance. It’s an honor to meet you finally," the middle aged leader spoke, stepping forward and offering a standard human fist and palm salute.
Victor reached out and shook his hand firmly, offering a calm and grounded presence that instantly eased a small fraction of the vice president’s hidden panic. "I am Victor Walker. It’s nice to meet you too vice president."
Vladimir observed the polite exchange with a subtle, knowing grin before placing a light hand on Victor’s shoulder. "Okay junior brother, you talk with them first. I am going to greet some guests. I’ll fetch you later to introduce with other racial envoys."
Victor nodded smoothly in agreement. "Sounds good, senior brother."
Vladimir turned and glided away into the bustling crowd, his grand robe fluttering behind him as surrounding dignitaries immediately bowed in his direction.
After seeing Vladimir leave, the tense look on the vice president’s face turned completely serious. The surrounding human delegates held their breath, instinctively forming a tight perimeter around the floating obsidian table to ensure complete privacy from probing spiritual senses.
"Mr. Walker, can we talk?" Carmen Jack asked, his voice low, cautious, and filled with a solemn weight.
"Sure," Victor nodded, gesturing lightly for the leader to proceed.
"You see, our human race is not very powerful and are surrounded by powerful enemy races. We are constantly under pressure. Though our president is an Universal Realm being, he alone can’t handle everything across three hundred star domains. Can we offer you to become the honorary president of the alliance? You won’t have to do anything, just your name would be enough," the vice president admitted, his eyes shining with great expectations and raw hope.
Victor raised an eyebrow, genuinely intrigued by the candid confession. "Oh? The human race is actually struggling this much? Who are the enemy races?"
"The insect race, the vampire race and..." The vice president was hesitating, his throat dry as he found himself unable to bring himself to speak the final name in public.
"Ah! Actually we are the neighbors living beside the human race, Your highness. We didn’t know you were His Majesty Cristofer’s disciple. We might have caused some inconvenience to them. I am sorry for that."
Suddenly another voice was heard. It was a loud, boisterous voice that cut through the soft ambient music of the hall with incredible confidence. Victor turned his gaze behind him to see Sofia walking over in high spirits, leading a group of heavily armored officials who exuded dark, overwhelming auras.
"The demon race?" Victor muttered softly, placing the missing piece of the puzzle together.
"Yes," the vice president confirmed in a barely audible whisper, his body going completely rigid as the demonic officials approached.
"Hello senior sister. Have you found your people?" Victor asked with a bright smile, greeting Sofia warmly as she stepped up beside him.
"Yeah. I also heard what is going on between our two races. I’m assuring you junior brother, I’ll talk to my dad tonight and all the problems would be solved within seven days. We will give you enough compensation as well," Sofia replied with a serious tone, her words carrying absolute authority as the direct daughter of the Demon Emperor.
"Yes, yes! Your Highness Victor, we will see through this as fast as possible. We will even talk to the other two races on behalf of the human race," the official standing directly beside Sofia added hastily, his hands clasped together as he bowed his head in deep reverence.
"And you are?" Victor asked, glancing at the unfamiliar demon leader.
The man straightened his back immediately, smoothing down the front of his grand obsidian robes to present his most polite demeanor. "I am Alistair Pike, the foreign minister of the Demonic Empire. It’s an honor to meet you, sir."
"Then I’ll leave this matter to you senior sister," Victor said, placing his full trust in Sofia without lingering on the details.
The demonic minister heaved a massive sigh of relief upon hearing those words, the incredible tension draining from his broad shoulders. The moment the high leadership of the Demonic Empire had learned of Victor’s true identity as the newest direct disciple of Lord Cristofer and universal record breaker, the entire empire had been thrown into utter turmoil.
The Emperor had nearly executed several border commanders on the spot. They had frantically contacted Sofia dozens of times to mediate the potential crisis, but Sofia had only promised that she would try her best. This junior brother of hers was her master’s most favorite disciple, a supreme talent and a terrifying monster who lived as the undisputed sovereign of all monsters. Offending him was equivalent to inviting absolute annihilation upon their entire civilization.
Now that the conflict was officially settled with a single casual sentence from Victor, Sofia too relaxed her rigid posture, letting out a soft breath of satisfaction.
The human envoys were all looking at this miraculous scene with wide, disbelieving eyes. The mighty Demonic Empire, their worst, oldest, and most terrifying enemy, was behaving like humble subordinates in front of this young man.
They had even come to reconcile entirely on their own initiative, promising reparations and offering to pressure the insect and vampire races without being asked. The human delegation had never envisioned such an outcome in their wildest dreams.
They had initially thought that if they could merely persuade Victor to accept the title of honorary president, his name might grant them a small degree of security and political leverage. It was now painfully clear that they had drastically underestimated Victor’s true standing in the grand cosmos.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," the human envoys said in unison, bowing deeply to Victor with profound reverence and tears welling up in the eyes of the younger delegates.
"Okay, enjoy the ceremony. If you have any human prodigies worth nurturing, send them here. But their characters must be good," Victor said with a warm, genuine smile before turning to take his leave alongside Sofia.
The human delegates began trembling with overwhelming excitement when they heard those words. To have a direct channel to send their talented youth into such a supreme environment under the protection of a true disciple was a fortune beyond measure.
"We understand, Your Majesty," Carmen Jack replied, his voice shaking with intense emotion. The entire delegation was already treating Victor with the same absolute respect they reserved for their own ultimate leader, The Alliance President.
The demon minister Alistair Pike smiled wryly as he watched Victor and Sofia walk away into the shining crowd. Even though Princess Sofia was the second true disciple of Lord Cristofer, she had never dared to take any prodigies from her own race to nurture within the core domain without explicit permission.
Yet, Victor had just granted the human race a privilege that bypassed all standard protocols without a second thought. In a single evening, the human race had gained an unshakable backer who could alter the fate of star systems with a simple nod.
Alistair turned back toward the stunned human delegation, his initial sharp expression shifting into one of deep warmth and utter friendliness.
"Brother Carmen, let’s talk," Alistair said, offering the human vice president an exceptionally amiable smile as he gestured toward the floating obsidian table.
