Chapter 477: Chapter 476: Adequate

Location:Seven Peaks — Arrival Terrace, Main Corridor, Raven’s Office

Date/Time:TC1855.11.15 (Morning)

Aren felt it first.

Raven was in the command center reviewing Coop’s detector prototype specifications when the boy appeared in the doorway, frost racing from his boots across the floor in sharp, radiating lines that she’d never seen before — not the usual geometric patterns of the formation network but something pointed, directional, all of them converging toward the northern terrace.

"Something warm," Aren said. "Really warm. Coming down."

Raven looked at the frost. At the boy’s ice-blue eyes, wide and focused, reading a thermal signature that his affinity had never encountered on this mountain. The frost lines pulsed — once, twice — and the formation network’s detection array confirmed it three seconds later: dimensional transfer in progress, arrival terrace, single entity, non-hostile.

Not a projection. A manifestation. Physical. Present.

Raven stood. Walked to the terrace. Her heart was doing something she didn’t have a strategic framework for, and she let it, because some things happened in the body before the mind had time to classify them.

He was standing at the terrace edge when she arrived. Mortal. Present. Real.

The black robes were the same — long, moving in the mountain wind, silver runes at the edges that flickered with residual cosmic energy from the transfer. The long dark hair moved in the same wind. The ice-blue eyes were the same color they’d always been, but they sat differently in a face that was subject to gravity and cold air and the weight of being made of material that could be damaged.

There was a sword across his back.
