Chapter 97: Into Hell. Part-8.
[Rolling_Crocodile: Goddess Xinran looks so beautiful when she’s in the serious work mode! Urgh, She’s too beautiful; if I was in the anchor’s place, I would have gone insane over her by now!]
[Jumping_Koala: She’s really exceptional. She looks good no matter what she does. When flirting, she has the charm of a succubus; when smiling, she has the charm of an angel; and when serious, she has the charm of a noble princess!]
[Blue_Dinosaur: Why else do you think we call her ’Goddess Xinran’? She’s far beyond the leagues of us ordinary mortals. It’s only been less than a week since she first appeared but she already have a massive fanbase across the globe you know.]
[Shining_Lorraine: Yeah, I heard that some major companies are going to launch cute plush toys based on ’Goddess Xinran’; I have already pre-ordered by the way.]
[Invincible_Bob: Heh! You lot are just weaklings; real men do not falter in front of beauty! I have pre-ordered the ’Macho Zephyr’ figurine! All hail the Invincible Tank God!!]
...
’Ugh... these people are enjoying my suffering here in this world a bit too much; they are even rolling out figurines and plush toys to make money off my and Xinran’s face...’
’Sigh, if only the value of my face was as high back then as it is now, when I was still on earth. At least I could have auditioned for movies then and become a decently famous actor...’
Back on earth, although the job market was difficult, at least life was peaceful and there was no need to always remain vigilant for fear of a monster randomly jumping out of somewhere and attacking you.
It was possible to wander around in the dead of the night and enjoy the night view in peace, without having to worry about horrific monstrosities suddenly falling from the sky.
’To think a day would come when I would miss that place... well, they do say that you only realize the true value of something after you have already lost it...’
Shaking his head, Zephyr brought out the tea set that Xinran had given him before and made some tea for both of them.
Seeing that Xinran was fully focused on her work and was quite busy, Zephyr placed the tea cup on her working bench and then found himself a place to sit down nearby.
In the blink of an eye, several hours flew by in peace as Xinran tinkered with her artifacts while Zephyr made tea of various different flavors several times over the course of every two hours.
He was actually using Xinran’s taste buds to hone his own tea-making skills, but since Xinran did not complain, he just kept going.
By the time Xinran finally finished her work, it was already morning of the next day, and she had finished ten cups of tea in one sitting.
The moment she finished her work, the breakfast was directly served in front of her, and her eyes lit up instantly as she pounced on the food like a cat!
"Sigh, if you keep spoiling me with such good tea and food... I will become addicted to it all and won’t be able to bear the thought of turning you into a puppet anymore!"
"Ugh... You sinful man, you dare steal my heart inside a temple! You need to be punished!"
With a pout, Xinran messed up Zephyr’s hair and then snatched away the food he was eating.
"Ahem! How was your work? Did you succeed in making the container?"
Seeing that the conversation was drifting off track, Zephyr changed the topic immediately!
"Hehe, who do you think I am? I am the greatest magic artifact craftsman in this world! Of course, I succeeded!"
With a smug look on her face, Xinran showed off the ring that she had crafted using various precious materials.
Taking the ring from her hand, Zephyr observed it but couldn’t notice anything special about it except for the subtle spatial fluctuations around it.
’Let’s see if it will work...’
With a thought, Zephyr channelled his mana into the tattoo and activated the purification power of the ’Obelisk.’
Then using his powerful mental fortitude, Zephyr redirected the purification power into the ring, causing the ring to light up with a gentle white glow.
"Ohh! It’s really working! You really did it! Awesome!"
A happy smile spread over Xinran’s face as she saw the artifact glow up and work properly.
"Of course it works! I made it after all!"
"Hmm, let’s call it the ’Ring of Containment’ from now on! This ring can store a tremendous amount of the obelisk’s power inside of it, and with just one recharge, it can be continuously used for an entire day!"
Hearing those words, Zephyr’s eyes widened in shock.
’D*mn! Even I can only operate the obelisk for a few hours continuously because of its high mana consumption, but she can actually use it for an entire day continuously!?’
’I really underestimated her ability to make artifacts... she might really be insanely gifted in artifact crafting...’
Shaking his head, Zephyr spoke in a deep voice,
"Mastery over multiple weapons, martial arts, magic, artifact making, deep understanding of various monsters and most importantly the courage to challenge miasma head on..."
"I must say, that title of ’Vampire Princess’ does seem to hold some weight after all..."
With a smile on his face, Zephyr started charging the ring for Xinran.
"Hehe~ Now you understand my greatness? If you kowtow to me now, I might just let you become a sentient puppet of mine, kekeke~"
"By the way, you seem to have insufficient mana to recharge this ring; let me lend you some of mine..."
Xinran gently placed her small palms on Zephyr’s back and injected her own mana into his body.
"Don’t resist it, or it might cause mana deviation in your body; just let it flow straight towards the Obelisk."
Although Zephyr was wary that Xinran might do something to his body with her mana running free inside his body, he had no other choice at the moment but to let her push mana into him.
’But just in case something goes wrong, I should focus my intuition on the mana flow...’
Thankfully, his concerns were uncalled for, as Xinran did not play any trick on him until the end of mana channelling.
