Santiago Morgan had always been aligned with Prince Edward, and after Prince Edward was eliminated by Peter Brown, Santiago thought he too would be implicated. However, Peter Brown didn’t extend the implications to the former princes’ people, keeping Santiago in his position in the Ministry and even as an official. It might seem glorious, but only Santiago knew how precarious his position was, prone to being taken down or even sabotaged by others.
Sitting inside the house, Santiago let out a sigh, truly at a loss about what to do. Clearly, with Peter Brown establishing the Hua Kingdom, the nation was too powerful. If it was ever revealed that he was once under Prince Edward, he really didn’t know what the outcome would be.
"Master, you’ve been sighing every time you come back these past few days, I wonder what’s on your mind."
His wife named Linda Parker, who was also charming, handed him a teacup and asked.
With a long sigh, Santiago said, "I regret my past decisions!"
"Master, are you saying Mr. Damon is targeting you again?" she knew about the official in the Ministry who was at odds with her husband.
Taking the teacup, Santiago said, "Recently, Mr. Damon has married his daughter to the son of the Imperial Counselor. The two families have grown even closer!"
"Ah, so will they target you, Master?"
"Even though the Imperial Counselor was a minister of the former Winchester Dynasty, he is close to Mr. Johnson, who is now Chancellor with astonishing power. It would be very easy for them to deal with me."
Linda Parker’s face changed as she said, "Is there really no solution? How about we resign from our positions?"
With a bitter smile, Santiago said, "I have had too many disputes with Mr. Damon. This official status protects me. If I lose this, where can we flee to?"
