Chapter 1938 - 1936: The Second Layer

On the journey from the first to the second layer, spanning hundreds of miles, Peter Brown felt that nearly half or more of the people had died.

Soon, Peter arrived at the entry point to the second layer.

Upon reaching this place, he observed that not too many people had made it here; unexpectedly, Peter saw Philip Williams with his group, who had not entered yet.

When Peter approached Philip Williams, he gestured, and in response, Williams and his men quickly protected Peter within their midst.

"Your Highness, you’ve arrived as well?"

"Why haven’t you entered yet?"

"Your Highness, the second layer is no longer the place we knew. It was supposed to be the layer of fierce beasts which are not of a very high rank. However, we discovered upon arriving that the fierce beasts here have mutated. It’s understood that this area occasionally emits some holy energy. Although not much, it’s something that allows beasts to quickly advance in rank. Furthermore, it’s said that a kind of Beast Fruit has appeared here. These fruits have been mutated by holy energy. Beasts that consume them can quickly advance by tens of star levels. Many people have died after entering. We entered earlier and lost half of our men."

Only then did Peter realize that Philip Williams had indeed lost half of his group.

Thinking about how low-ranked the personnel Philip Williams brought were and how difficult it was for them to reach here, Peter sighed quietly to himself. He estimated that based on their Power, probably all would die at the Third Level.

After a moment, Peter said, "Forget it, your ranks are too low and not suitable for entry. The benefits are significant, but you stand little chance of obtaining them!"

Philip Williams felt rather awkward. They wouldn’t have been able to make it this far without the formation and Energy Bomb techniques taught to them by Peter Brown. They were also aware of the great dangers of entering.
