Chapter 1678 - 1676: Provincial Capital Examination
The Reservoir Project was in preparation, and with a manager in charge, Peter Brown, as the assistant manager, had plenty to do, but he called Project Manager George Bridge and then took a leave. Examinations were a big deal, and George Bridge couldn’t possibly stop him.
After taking the leave, Peter drove towards the provincial city.
Once he entered the campus, Peter arranged to have a meal with June Davis.
She didn’t make him wait for long, and before he knew it, June Davis arrived dressed in the epitome of professional attire.
Gazing at June Davis, Peter couldn’t help noticing why Henry Carter was taken with the beauty, who truly was gorgeous, especially with an air of academia about her, making her stand out among all the women he had encountered.
"Ms. Watson, hello."
When Peter shook June’s warm and soft hand, he could feel the warmth.
"Manager Walter, hello."
"Don’t call me manager, just Peter or Peter will do."
June looked at Peter over and over again, then candidly said, "I never imagined you’d advance so swiftly, you’re a manager now."
That was truly what she thought, as June remembered their last encounter when Peter had come with Henry Carter, and at that time she hadn’t sensed any prospect of advancement from him. Life was unpredictable. Now that Carter had met with trouble, it turned out Peter had moved up.
