THE RISE OF WHITE CONQUEROR

Chapter 116: You Smell Like...

"Lets level the playing field shall we"

As soon as he said that he attacked one of its with magic helping him he slashed right through it cutting the let leg from its joint in its entirely.

"GAWHHHH!"

The beast screamed in agony at having it leg lost it felt its balanced lost however even in agony it meant to destroy the being that took its leg therefore shifting its balance it concentrated towards kelly and just as he let the beam of pure mana its horn has gathered let loose towards kelly it felt a burning on the left side of his face as he was thrown back from the explosion and the force of the magic it got hit by.

Kelly from his position could see the structure of the lance made up of pure fire imbued mana gauged at one of its going as far it could and embedded from its eye charring its face black after pushing the beast good distance it exploded again in its face tearing half of its face with it.

Thawck

"Gahhhhhhh"

The beast screeched in agony kelly instinctively knew the fight was over he could see the left side of the beast face nothing remained except its skull some of its brain matter also dropping off him he knew the beast was running on fumes he just have to wait for a bit and the beast would be dead on its own thinking that he let his guard down.

"Left!" Kei’s voice came sharp and precise. From the back without even thinking for a second his body reacted, The frog monster’s massive tongue that was trapped shot out like a whip, slamming into the ground where Kelly had been standing just a moment ago. He leapt back just in time. Kelly feeling the force in the attack clicked his tongue and threw his sword that was already charred black from the last attack towards the beast the force behind it easily piercing whatever brain that was left of it finally making it swirl for a while and die.

’Lets try it’

As kelly kept on looking towards the beast he thought back to his for the past week aside from surviving he has been trying everything to learn more about his skill Gluttony however anytime he kills a beast and try to activate the skill it never responds no matter how much he tries he thought of many reason as to why the only thing he understood was all the beast he fought and killed were weaker then him and this frog was the only one he met that gave him and Kei both a little challenge, if he had to guess it was slightly stronger then the wolf he fought before however it abilities making a bad match for someone like kelly who is not well adapt at using magic. Still while looking at the beast his skill didn’t gave him any notable reaction and he sighed tiredly and thought.

’Do I have to match more conditions’

"Try not to die, idiot!" Kei’s voice snapped at him.

"Oh, shut up!" Kelly shot back tired feeling no energy at all he just lay down where he was standing. His saw the same sky that he was getting used to for the last week those beautiful aurora lights were a sight to sore eyes as he looked at them slowly Kei made her way towards him she came in between his line of sight, even when her face looked haggard and marred with dirt kelly couldn’t help but feel she looked beautiful realizing his thoughts were going haywire he inadvertently blurted something stupid.

"you smell like shit"

"oh yeah? You smell worse" Kei on the other hand frowned hearing that she shot back.

Her words reminding of the mucus still stuck to him he said in irritation.

"Fuck you"

"No, fuck you"

They hadn’t bathed. Not once. Not in seven whole days. At first, both of them still cared. Kei especially. She would wrinkle her nose every few hours, muttering curses under her breath while trying to wipe dried blood and dirt off her arms with scraps of damp cloth every time they fought something. Kelly wasn’t much better constantly sniffing his shirt with a disgusted frown before eventually giving up altogether. But this dungeon didn’t care about comfort, dignity, or hygiene.

The river, despite moving away from the shore they were still somewhere near it after all it was their water source river looked clear enough to drink from, was a death trap. More than once, they had seen glowing eyes watching from beneath the dark surface, ripples moving against the current. During the day, it wasn’t any safer. The open shore left them completely exposed, nowhere to hide if something attacked. Bathing had quickly gone from necessity to luxury... and then from luxury to outright stupidity. So they endured.

Their clothes were stiff with dried sweat, monster blood, mud, and layers of grime that no amount of shaking could get rid of. Their collars itched constantly. Their skin felt sticky no matter how cold the cavern air was. Every movement pulled fabric against skin that hadn’t been properly cleaned in days, rubbing raw in places neither of them wanted to think about.

And then there were the things no one ever talked about. On the second day, after an embarrassingly tense argument and far too much awkward silence, Kelly had finally taken a dagger and dug two crude holes near their hideout far enough from where they slept, close enough not to wander alone. Neither of them acknowledged it. Neither of them looked the other in the eye while using them. At first Kei had screamed at him for even suggesting it.

"Holy shit... no, literally, holy shit..." she had muttered one morning, pinching her nose so hard her face turned red.

Kelly had laughed. Actually laughed. And Kei had nearly stabbed him for it. They had stopped caring. Neither of them complained anymore. They just couldn’t afford to anymore.

"Hahhh" Kei took an deep breath and flopped down beside kelly she grimaced as she remembered all those details of the last week he too looked upwards lost in thought after a while she muttered.
