Chapter 115: Frog
At first they walked for god knows how long but they kept on walking in that same direction hoping to find something but their surroundings never changed they didn’t encounter any beast on their first day only hunger and ache in their legs was their constant companion.
"How long"
Kelly ignored it once again he didn’t know how many times she has asked him the same question but he knew he don’t have the energy to answer her anymore.
"Ahh I am thirst wait a minute let me drink"
Kei said after a while going towards the shore of the river to sit down and taking water from the river in her hands as she quenched her thirst Kelly sighed and thought.
’We have been walking the whole day...at least I feel like that no way to even know the time in this place’
"Aghhhhhh"
His thoughts got interrupted by a loud scream he whipped back his head to see Kei fall down on her ass as she tried to get away from the water at the fastest speed crawling on all fours, Kelly hearing her reacted instantly and ran to her helping her get up however seeing nothing around them asked her annoyedly.
"What now"
However Kei just pointed at the middle of the river and kelly saw a fish a largest fish he has ever seen large as horse with her antlers shining like bulbs however it wasn’t moving its blood coloring oozing out of its injuries after a while getting out of his stupor kelly said.
"its okay its dead" and hugged her shoulders to calm her down.
"yeah, I was drinking but suddenly I saw blood in my hands and this stupidity came floating out scared the shit..."
However before she could continue something happened that frightened them to the core the river started shifting as if something humongous is make its way up, and then they saw it, something just opened its jaws and swallowed the whole fish in one bite kelly and Kei were only able to see its jaws but it was enough to sacred the shit out of them after all its teeth was bigger than them, the beast after taking its bite disappeared and the river regained its calm like before however to them it just became far more frightening when they remembered how carefree they were moving alongside the river.
"Lets get away from that river shall we"
Kelly just half mindedly nodded to kei.
Before Kelly could delve back in his memories he realized the tongue frighteningly close to him just as he got ready to put all his strength back into the sword he felt something icy past him at the frightening speed, and he saw it as it collided with the jagged tongue of the beast the resulting force if the explosion pushed him far removing him from his captivity with ice forming all over his body as if freezing him however maybe the ice gluing to him had less magic or maybe the casters target wasn’t him because he realized the faith of the beast was far worse that his he saw in trepidation as the base and the front of the tongue of the beast started freezing the small shard of ice magic started dissolving into gas as it more it dissolve the more the block of an ice it formed around itself at one point the beast having difficult holding tried to take its tongue back but the weight around it making it difficult.
’she created something new again’
Kelly could help but admire her even as he ran when he saw the frog wasn’t able to even lift its tongue from the ground as it froze up increasing its weight, Kelly found the beast situating a little funny but seeing his chance he ran towards the beast intending to finish it once for all.
Kelly ran towards the beast, the beast realizing its predicament focused all its eyes towards Kelly and kelly could see its horn started lighting an intense red, however kelly still ran its one of the attacks they have already seen from it he knew he couldn’t let it finish thus he shouted.
"KEI, ITS DOING THAT AGAIN"
However, he got response knowing she was concentrating
’Good thing I have now full control of my body’
Kelly thought as he redoubled his efforts and ran with full speed towards it again, as he ran his thoughts went back to last week again.
"I am not eating that"
"Ohh pray tell princess what you want, bacon oh...before I forget how would you like your eggs scrambled maybe" Kelly replied in a snarky tone.
"That thing was in a dead murky pool for gods know how long!"
"And what do you want me to do, Kei?! Starve?!"
After running from that hellish river Kelly and Kei tired and hungry decided to rest after not finding anything to eat they could go back to river in hope of finding a fish but when they remembered the last fish they saw they humble scratched that idea off after wandering for a while they did find a cavern to relax and as if in luck in the middle of the cavern they found a pool of water dark and muddy with a pungent smell making it unbearable for both of them but when kelly saw something moving inside it he decided to catch it, now holding a fish he’d dragged out with bare hands with much difficulty both of them could still smell the rotten smell coming from the fish itself The smell alone had been enough to make him gag, however But hunger...real hunger, didn’t care about smell. Didn’t care about logic. His stomach had twisted so violently he felt like it was eating itself. In the end they decide to eat it. Barely cooked over a weak fire Kei generated over her palms it was Half-burnt outside. Still raw inside. Not at all edible from anywhere Kei had thrown up after the first bite.
"it taste like rotten fish"
However, for Kelly the smell was what making it unbearable his heightened nose was screaming at him still he had forced it down. Because there was no choice.
"taste like noting to me"
But as per taste Kelly felt nothing he couldn’t taste anything at all.
"Yeah a rotten nothing"
Coming to back to himself kelly came close to the beast only moments passed at its attack was also charged up not giving it any chance kelly focused on his attribute he let the lightning coil against his blade even though he knew the consequence after all his sword was just a normal metal of this world no way compared to the mana conducting metals but he bet everything on this attack as he neared that beast mouth again he looked up at the enormous frog feeling tiny in comparison he muttered.
"Lets level the playing field shall we"
As soon as he said that he attacked one of its with magic helping him he slashed right through it cutting the let leg from its joint in its entirely.
"GAWHHHH!"
