The V-tuber Who Became Obsessed With Me

Chapter 127: Truly and utterly obsessive

Third person’s pov

The blindfold came off.

Jade squeezed his eyes shut as light flooded his vision, burning after what felt like hours in complete darkness. He blinked repeatedly until the blurred silhouette before him slowly came into focus.

A woman stood a few feet away, watching him with an easy smile that felt completely out of place.

"Hello, Jade."

Her voice was warm, almost welcoming.

His throat tightened.

"Who... who are you?"

She laughed softly.

"I was actually about to ask you the same question."

She walked toward him with slow, measured steps before crouching so they were eye level.

"So tell me, Jade. Who are you?"

He frowned, unsure what she meant.

"I’m... Jade."

"No." She shook her head. "That’s your name. I asked who you are."

He stared at her, confused.

"I don’t understand."

"I don’t think anyone does." She rose to her feet again. "You’re ordinary. Forgettable. If you vanished tonight, your friends would grieve for a while, your coworkers would replace you, and before long the world would carry on exactly as it always has."

A chill ran through him.

"Why are you doing this?" he asked. "What do you want from me?"

"Nothing."

The answer came so quickly it caught him off guard.

"You were simply unfortunate enough to matter to someone I needed to reach."

"Kuro?"

Her smile widened.

"See? I knew you’d figure it out eventually."

"What did Kuro ever do to you?"

Something shifted behind her eyes. The smile remained, but every trace of warmth disappeared.

"He kidnapped the woman I love," she said quietly. "He tortured her. He believed he could break her."

She folded her arms.

"So I decided he should learn what it feels like too ...I mean hurting himari like that he should know there’s consequences for that .."

Jade frowned.

"Himari?"

She blinked, then gave an amused shake of her head.

"You probably know her by the name she uses now."

"Raina."

Recognition flashed across his face.

"Ethan’s girlfriend?"

"There we are."

Jade shook his head.

"I barely know her. We met once because of Ethan. Everything else I know comes from hearing him talk about her or watching Lumi’s streams."

"That doesn’t matter."

Anna looked toward the open harbor beyond the container.

" I mean you of all people should understand forbidden love "

"Harrington likes to pretend it’s a modern city, but people are still terrified of anything they don’t understand. They’ll tell you everyone deserves happiness, then judge you the moment your back is turned."

She looked back at him.

"I stopped caring about strangers’ opinions a long time ago. The only one that has ever mattered is hers."

"You’ve lost your mind."

She ignored the insult.

"I actually considered taking himari and running away with her and keep her all to my self , but her grandfather would’ve seen through that almost immediately. Katsuro has an irritating habit of anticipating people."

Jade frowned and lowered his face

" Don’t be sad , I was gonna kidnap Ethan instead but it would break himari and that wouldn’t do any good "

A faint smile crossed her face.

"So I looked for another way to hurt Kuro."

Her gaze settled on Jade.

"Then I remembered you."

Jade looked at her in disbelief.

"You think this is love?"

"No."

He shook his head.

"This isn’t love. It’s obsession."

Anna stared at him for a moment.

Then she laughed—genuinely this time, the sound echoing through the container.

"I underestimated you," she admitted. "I thought Ethan was the brave one."

She crouched in front of him again.

"Everyone calls it obsession, as though loving someone completely is some kind of illness. They tell me to move on, to let her make her own choices, to accept reality."

Her eyes held his.

"But reality has always belonged to the people willing to change it."

"You’ll never have her."

The laughter disappeared.

"She’ll never love you."

For the first time, Anna said nothing.

She studied him for a long moment before straightening her coat.

"I was beginning to enjoy this conversation."

She glanced toward the men waiting outside.

"Our guest seems to have forgotten that comfort is a privilege."

One of the guards stepped forward.

Anna looked back at Jade.

"Perhaps one uncomfortable night will remind you that words have consequences."

"Yes, Miss Anna," the man replied.

She gave Jade one last smile before stepping out of the container.

The heavy steel doors swung shut with a metallic groan.

"No!"

Jade threw himself against the ropes as panic surged through him.

"Please! Wait!"

Anna never looked back.

The doors slammed closed, plunging him into darkness once again. A second later, the lock clanged into place.

She slipped her hands into her coat pockets and walked toward her car at an unhurried pace, while behind her Jade’s muffled cries accompanied with several thuds and crunch slowly disappeared beneath the endless sound of waves crashing against the docks.

She smiled to herself.

For the first time that day...

The noise in her head had finally gone quiet.

The drive back was quiet.

Anna rested one hand on the steering wheel while the other reached for her phone. She scrolled through her contacts, found Ethan’s number, and pressed call.

He answered on the first ring.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Crux," Anna said pleasantly. "A slight change of plans."

Ethan’s grip tightened around his phone.

"What do you mean?"

"The package has turned out to be... Temporary unavailable at the moment . She smiled to herself as she merged onto the highway. "So I’ve decided to postpone our meeting."

A knot formed in Ethan’s stomach.

"What?"

"Let’s make it two days from now instead of tomorrow."

"Please," Ethan said, the desperation already creeping into his voice. "You said tomorrow. Just let him go."

Anna let out a quiet laugh.

"Poor Ethan. So naive." She paused, as though genuinely considering something. "I honestly don’t understand what she sees in you."

Ethan frowned.

"Who?"

But the line had already gone dead.

He pulled the phone away from his ear and stared at the screen.

"Hello?"

Nothing.

The call had ended.

Miles away, Anna slipped her phone onto the passenger seat and continued driving toward the mansion, a faint smile lingering on her face as the road stretched endlessly ahead.
