The V-tuber Who Became Obsessed With Me

Chapter 126: Truly and utterly twisted .

Third Person POV

Anna parked outside the Harrington safe house just as the afternoon sun dipped toward the horizon. She stepped out, shut the car door, and walked through the entrance with the confidence of someone who had been there countless times.

The guards recognized her immediately.

None of them tried to stop her.

A servant bowed as she entered.

"Where’s Mr. Arashigumi?"

Without a word, the servant gestured toward the rear of the house.

Anna nodded and continued on.

She found Katsuro exactly where she expected him.

He sat cross-legged on the ocean-facing veranda, dressed in a black silk kimono that stirred gently in the sea breeze. An incense burner smoldered beside him, its smoke drifting lazily toward the open sky. His eyes remained closed, his breathing slow and even.

Anna stopped a few feet away.

"You seem relaxed."

Katsuro opened his eyes.

"Miss Wallis."

A faint smile touched his lips.

"I’m surprised to see you back so soon."

Anna folded her arms.

"I don’t believe that."

"Oh?"

"You already know why I’m here."

He regarded her for a moment before closing his eyes again.

"I’ve learned many things in my lifetime. Reading your mind isn’t one of them."

Anna sighed.

"Enough with the philosophy. I’m talking about Felix. It was my idea to keep him alive."

"You wanted him dead."

"I was the one who suggested placing him in a medically induced state until everything settled."

His expression didn’t change.

"Why did you wake him up?"

Katsuro unfolded his legs and rose to his feet with unhurried ease, brushing an invisible crease from his sleeve before walking toward her.

Anna didn’t even realize she’d taken a step backward until her heel caught the edge of the wooden floor.

His presence alone did that.

Not because he towered over people or because he shouted. Standing in front of Katsuro Arashigumi always felt like standing before someone who had already decided how your story would end.

He stopped an arm’s length away.

"Miss Wallis."

His voice remained soft.

"I have indulged your unusual attachment to my granddaughter for many years. I have overlooked your methods. I have even permitted you to interfere in matters most people would never be allowed to witness."

His eyes met hers.

"I don’t recall ever needing your permission to make decisions ever ."

Anna immediately realized she’d overstepped.

She straightened.

"My apologies, Mr. Arashigumi. I wasn’t questioning your authority."

She paused before continuing.

"I was worried waking Felix would reopen old wounds for Himari. Everything I’ve done has been for her."

Katsuro studied her for a long moment before walking to the edge of the veranda.

"I know."

His voice was calm.

"And I appreciate it."

He looked out at the sea.

"But today, you let your emotions make decisions for you."

Anna lowered her head.

"I’m sorry. It won’t happen again."

"No."

Katsuro nodded once.

"I don’t believe it will."

For a while, neither of them spoke.

Only the waves filled the silence.

"I was only trying to protect Himari," Anna said.

"I’m sure you were."

He glanced back at her.

"If you’re going to kidnap someone, you should be more careful."

Anna went completely still.

The smile disappeared from her face.

"So..."

She met his eyes without flinching.

"When did you figure it out?"

Katsuro chuckled.

"There it is. I’ve been waiting for that expression."

"I’ve known since yesterday."

Anna laughed softly.

"I should’ve expected that."

Katsuro’s amusement faded.

"What I know is that you took him."

He tilted his head.

"What I don’t know is why."

Anna walked over and sat opposite him.

"Revenge."

"Kuro."

She nodded once.

"He kidnapped Himari. He tortured her. He tried to destroy her."

"I wasn’t going to let that go."

Her voice remained steady.

"And if I’m being honest, watching Ethan slowly lose his mind over Jade’s disappearance was an unexpected bonus."

Katsuro stared at her for several seconds before a deep laugh escaped him.

"You..."

He shook his head.

"You are a truly twisted woman."

Anna smiled.

"I prefer efficient."

"I still don’t understand why you refuse to work for me. My organization could use someone like you."

"I’ve always preferred working alone."

"Naturally."

Katsuro nodded.

"As long as everything you do serves one purpose—protecting my granddaughter—I have no reason to interfere."

Anna smiled again.

This one never reached her eyes.

By the time Anna left the safe house, evening had quietly settled over Harrington. The last traces of sunlight lingered along the horizon, casting a warm orange glow across the city before slowly giving way to dusk. Instead of driving home, she turned the car toward the old Harrington Seaport, a harbor that had been abandoned since the early nineties.

Cargo ships no longer docked there, and the cranes had long since fallen silent. What remained was a graveyard of rusted shipping containers stacked in uneven rows, their faded paint peeling beneath years of salt, rain, and neglect. Though time had weathered them, the steel walls remained as solid as ever, making the forgotten port a convenient place for storing things no one wanted the public to find.

Anna parked without a word and stepped out.

The evening breeze carried the smell of seawater and rust as she made her way between the towering rows of containers. Her heels echoed against the cracked concrete, the sound swallowed almost immediately by the emptiness surrounding her. Apart from the distant crash of waves against the docks, the port was silent.

Two men were already waiting.

The moment they saw her approaching, they straightened instinctively.

Neither spoke.

Anna’s gaze drifted to the weathered shipping container behind them before she came to a stop.

"Open it."

The order was calm, almost casual.

The men hurried forward without hesitation. One unlocked the heavy steel latch while the other pulled against the rusted handle. The container door groaned loudly as it swung open, revealing a darkness that the fading daylight barely touched.

A muffled struggle came from within.

"Mmmph! Mmmph!"

As the light spilled inside, the figure became visible.

A man sat on the cold metal floor with his wrists and ankles tightly bound. A black blindfold covered his eyes, and a strip of tape sealed his mouth, reducing every desperate attempt to speak to little more than muffled cries. He twisted against the ropes the moment he sensed someone standing before him, his breathing quickening as panic took hold.

Anna regarded him in silence.

Then, without a trace of emotion, she stepped into the container.
