The Novel's Draft

With a thunderous roar, the merged demon swung the combination weapon.

Out of nowhere, the iron club mage had appeared just in time and conjured a barrier that broke instantly.

However it was enough to block just one attack.

Looking down, the iron club mage was shouting something that I couldn’t really hear.

For some reason, whenever the demons speak they have perfect clarity.

It must be some sort of spell or unique trait that they possess.

All of the generals then started floating with wind.

I see, she ordered the mage to cast a spell that made them fly.

Flying around the merged lieutenant like mosquitos, they started attacking in unison.

But with just a slight flap of his winds, the merged demon suddenly disappeared and appeared behind a general before slamming the combined weapon downwards, completely mutilating the unlucky soul.

"Hahaha, no matter what schemes you are up to, you are no match for my strength."

One after another, the generals were falling like dominos.

With a loud sigh, Incus summoned a hero sword.

"Everyone, get ready to follow her–!"

"Excaliburn!" Incus thrusted the tip of the fire hero sword forward and a pillar of flame swallowed the merged demon.

With an agonizing shriek, the demon swung its weapon wildly.

Floating away, the generals were cautious to engage in battle.

They’ve seen what it can do and what it has done to their companions.

But the attack from Incus had managed to deal a heavy blow, since the merged demon was groaning in pain.

The air walker then slashed a succession of the cleaving light.

Not two but multiple of them.

I thought that he couldn’t do that? Maybe if I was able to see the novel’s draft then it would have all made sense.

The iron club mage raised her staff and the air around her shifted as magical circles started to appear above her.

As the merged demon was writhing in pain, a sudden blast that struck down from the sky that resembled a spear crashed down, killing the demon.

But the attack had failed to kill the merged demon since they had split apart, leaving three of them unscathed.

"This is not the end!" The lieutenants ran and fled, and the generals immediately started getting treatment.

Continuing our march, the once rumbling demons that were watching were still standing still.

How strange... was it because they were ordered to not interfere?

"We’ve arrived." Said the mage with the compass spell.

In front of us was a large crater with a large waterfall of black soot.

But there was something in front of us.

It was a small white gazebo.

Sitting in the middle, sipping tea, was a woman whose lower part resembled a serpent’s, her skin was pure with gleaming red eyes with black a sclera.

Focusing my eye, I muttered:

Clearing a path for Incus, the hero started walking forward.

However she wasn’t stepping up to fight the demon general, but past her.

Vertere and Acro were ready to cast spells.

Looking down at the crater, there was a lagoon that circled an elevated area.

In the middle was a lone demon within a throne.

Skidding down the slope of the crater, the demon king looked up at us.

His glare made me choke, the air felt thin.

Damn, this aura... such intensity.

Once we reached the bottom, we jumped over the lagoon.

We barely jumped over it, but Vertere and a bridge point for us to land on.

"Finally, you’ve arrived. I was getting bored you know, you shouldn’t have kept me waiting." The demon kick stood up, his intense glare made the world tremble.

My lungs felt as if they were about to collapse.

Gritting my teeth, I tightened my grip on the hilt of my blade.

"It would be a waste for me to battle you myself." Suddenly, the waterfall of soot started forming a lifeform that looked similar to the demon king.

"This is a mere imitation of me. It has a portion of my strength, this will be your test. If you are to defeat one hundred of my copies then I will deem you worthy as an opponent."

Wriggling out of the black soot, the demon king copies flew straight towards Incus in succession.
