The Novel's Draft

Chapter 110 - 166 (4)

One after another, the generals slammed straight into a demon.

Tearing through the demon’s skin as the glided down, using the demon’s skin to decelerate their fall.

Incus on the other hand pulled out the wind hero’s sword and used it to fly about, before quickly summoning the fire hero’s sword.

"Excaliburn!" A large pillar of flame rose up to the sky and was slowly going down as Incus slashed downwards.

Multiple demons had been incinerated.

It seems that these demons aren’t as strong as the giant general that attacked Febritust.

Glancing up at the sky, the novel’s draft wasn’t showing up.

Fuck!

Without the draft, I won’t be able to formulate strategies and we’ll have to stick near Incus incredibly closely at all times.

"Ring, what is it? Has something gone wrong!" Alleus paled.

She must have sensed my distress.

I was about to give my reply but Incus suddenly rammed into a demon, and the dragon scales whipped us sharply at the giant demon’s skin.

"Urgk!" I gritted my teeth, trying to gain some sense of clarity.

Everything right now is chaotic and a mess, there’s always something going on.

"Excaliburn!" Incus dug her hero sword into a demon’s chest, making it explode into an ember blaze.

Being blown away by the impact, Incus caught herself with the wind sword before slowly going down to the ground.

As soon as we took a step, the ground felt incredibly compact and hard like cement.

I thought that it was going to be like muddy, but it’s likely that the massive weight of the demons had compressed it so much that it began rock hard solid.

Glancing up at the sky, I grimaced.

"It’s not there, the novel’s draft... I can’t see it." It’s better to tell them now instead of later during a crucial moment where my knowledge is needed the most.

Everyone’s reaction was the same but was at slightly different scales.

In summary, they were in a state of dread.

"But all we have to do is stick with Incus, and we’ll live. If you encounter an impossible danger, run away. Prioritize your life over anything else." I steadied my voice, "Panicking will lead to mistakes, so try to stay calm at all times if possible."

Staring at both Acro and Vertere, they were the most cowardice out of all of us, despite their incredible strengths as mages.

"If worse comes to shove, I’ll provide your with some insurance." Extending my hand, I commanded for a small piece of the dragon scales armor to defend them.

The size of the remaining dragon scales that I had left was barely shoulder length, I could probably defend against one large attack.

"Scales, I command you to focus on defending the person I’ve transferred you to."

Incus, just a few mere meters away was slaying multiple demons with an Excaliburn.

"Ring, it’s great that you’re worried about us man... but me and Kacon will be just fine." Joka forced a smile on his face, but he couldn’t hide his trembling hands.

Patting Joka on the shoulder, Kacon gave an affirming thumbs up.

"Joka—"

"Yeah, don’t worry this is our chance to show how much we’ve improved." Joka pulled out his other blade from it’s scabbard.

Looking upwards, the generals were killing demons while slightly angling their trajectory this way.

Squinting my eyes, I watched as Commander Cage was shooting out arcs of blue energy from his blade.

...Could it be, ’Aura slash’?

Looks like I’ve underestimated him.

"Ring, make me a promise." Alleus held my hand, her eyes filled with seriousness.

"If it’s something that I can do, sure what is it—"

"Don’t die."

Catching me off guard, I couldn’t help but chuckle slightly.

"Alright, I promise I won’t." I dropped the slime off of my face.

"G-Guys, she’s on the move." Acro pointed at Incus.

Without wasting anytime we all started to chase after Incus.

Incus tried summoning on of the hero swords but nothing seemed to come out.

The blade she was likely trying to summon was the earth hero’s sword.

"Damn it." Incus scowled, taking out the lighting hero’s sword instead.

Stabbing the sword into the ground, she started slicing a hole inside a large lump that was the size of a big hill.

Soon, a small cave was formed.

Hearing footsteps behind me, I checked what it was coming from.

Raising my blade, I was prepared for combat.

Thankfully it was just the generals and not demons.

"Looks like you’ve all arrived, but wheres the rest of you guys!" Incus threw out some of the excess debris from the cave, her movements were urgent.

"A few generals had decided that they were going to keep fighting the demons to guard us." One of the generals who was wielding a dagger and had the appearance of a flashy assassin spoke up.

"How about the causalities, how many generals have died?" Incus wiped the sweat off of her face.

"We’ve only lost two generals, but on the bright side we’ve cleared enough demons to give the wind mages a chance to come down." The assassin like general spun his dagger, before walking away, "I just wanted to drop in and say hello. I’m gonna go and safeguard the mages just in case. These demons are much more powerful that I anticipated."

With silent and ghost like movements, the general disappeared.

"If none of you are going to go and help him out, then get in here and clean up this place. You can start by helping me by making walls with the debris I’ve cut out." Incus glared.

Looking at the debris, Incus had intricately cut them into the shape of large bricks.

A few of the generals had gone after the assassin like general, and for the ones that stayed either scouted near the area for demons or helped stacking up a wall.

Of course this wall wasn’t going to be enough for the entire army.

The dark clouds above thundered once more.
