Chapter 95 - 161 (2)
Standing up, Incus sighed with dissatisfaction written all over her face.
"Looks like it’s up to me again." Incus shook her head, "I have enough mana for an attack, but I’ve spent all of the usage of strengthening."
Incus walked up on the edge the the castle walls and looked down.
Acro was still unconscious, so I decided to carry him on my back with the assistance of the dragon scales armor making sure that he doesn’t fall as I carry him.
Dropping down into the ground, Incus summoned a hero sword and jumped off of the castle wall.
"Excalibolt." With an intense speed, Incus flew at the supreme demon.
Meanwhile, , Vertere had formed a slip and slide for us to glide on.
Pillars stuck into the ground, supporting the road of ice being conjured in the air.
I had also commanded the dragon scales armor to form a rope around Incus. Holding onto the rope of dragon scales, our speed accelerated and Vertere’s face became a cold sweat.
At the pace we’re going, he had to do multiple mathematics formulas in his mind just so that we could keep up with Incus.
The back end of the ice road would collapse, since Vertere sacrificed durability so that he could increase the rate of his magic.
The supreme brute demon’s speed was running towards us, and it’s speed was horrifyingly fast for it’s size.
Incus had already tried everything within her abilities to try and kill the supreme demon.
There’s just no way that she could do anything...
Amongst the sound of electricity, Incus said something barely audible that made my eyes widen.
"Crimson sky splitting slash." The trail of lighting that had made Incus accelerate had slowly dissipated, and Incus stood straight up despite being in the air.
Bending her body, she slashed upwards and an invisible slash had warped the air but the attack wasn’t strong enough to reach the supreme demon.
"Looks like I’m not strong enough yet, what a shame." Incus sighed.
Glancing up at the novel’s draft, Incus was contemplating about how despite her stats were incredibly high, there seemed to be a wall stopping her from progressing any further.
Landing on the shin of the supreme demon, the demon’s foot broke the pillars that held up the roads of ice.
"Excalibolt." Incus jumped on the other direction, towards the castle wall.
Falling mid air, Vertere had wrapped himself around my leg.
"What the hell!" Vertere shouted, "I nearly died!"
Alleus has dangling, holding my ankle with a tight grip.
"Scales, latch everyone here together to Incus." Flying around us, the dragon scales wrapped around everyone and tied us to Incus.
"You guys can let go of my legs now." I said, making my voice just loud enough so that they could hear me.
Eventually landing on the castle wall, Incus sighed.
Her face was scowling, as she gripped her sword tighter before making it dissipate.
Summing the water hero’s sword, Incus stomped her foot into the ground.
"Excalifrost, maximum output of swords." Above us, multiple swords made of ice formed a towering wall.
Torquing her body with a wide movement, Incus swung the sword and the swords made of ice began to fly at the supreme demon.
"If this doesn’t kill that damned beast then I don’t know what will." Vertere said, as his veins visibly pulsed on his face.
Stabbing into the supreme demon, our faces paled as we watched the demon continue to run at the castle walls.
"It wasn’t enough to stop the demon... damn it." Incus sighed, collapsing to the ground.
"This can’t be it right..?" Acro said faintly, "There’s no way that a her as powerful as her would lose this battle."
Commanding the dragon scales to let Acro go, I helped him stand on his feet.
"How are you feeling, junior mage?" Vertere scoffed, but his face was still full of worry, "Make sure to control your breathing, and don’t over think... I don’t know if my healing was fully successful."
"Healing..?" Acro tilted his head, but he suddenly groaned as he rubbed his head.
Suddenly, Incus rose up and began running away.
Glancing up in the sky, the draft wrote that Incus had given up on stopping the supreme demon and instead decided that there would be no use sacrificing herself now.
She had no mana to expend, and all of her attacks was futile.
Running away was the only choice, the best she could do now was hope that the castle walls would be able to withstand the attack.
Is she stupid? There’s no way that the wall... no, not just the castle walls but the entire kingdom will fall.
The demon is incredibly huge, if it’s teeth are as tall as the castle walls then the kingdom will surely be destroyed without failed.
"H-Hey, why’s she running away..!" Acro paled.
"No time to thing, let’s start following after her!" I then started sprinting after Incus, "Scales, latch me onto Incus!"
Extending my hands to Alleus and Vertere, Acro climbed back onto my back.
"Ice road!" Vertere conjured an ice road to appear beneath our feet.
But instead of standing, we decided to instead sit down as if we were riding a sled.
The rate of speed that Incus ran was incredibly fast, I can’t believe that this is her raw speed without the use of the dragon scales or hero swords.
Glancing over at the supreme brute demon, it was creeping ever closer and a small water serpent was flying our way.
Come on Incus, hurry up!
Soon, we’ve reached quite the distance away from the trajectory of the supreme demon’s attack.
The demon was about four hundred away from the castle walls.
Tilting my head up to look at the novel’s draft, a confused smile curled on my face.
