Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items

Chapter 357: Nemesis

The divine couldn’t be constrained by the laws of a world, laws of physics meant nothing to it.

Space and time were no hindrance, as the divine played the field of cause and effects.

What is targeted gets hit! That was the only law it obeyed.

Distance? Time? Obstacles?

With a swift whistle the moment the arrow left the bow it vanished.

Not propelled by speed but by the cause of reality itself...

The skill Star Strike was released, and like a star shooting through the sky, the projectile soared through the wind curving down on the charmed beast.

The beast’s feelers shivered, feeling the danger, but unfortunately it could never avoid the inevitable.

With a sickening shlick, the arrow tore straight through the beast’s dented carapace.

Purple blood spewing like geysers, its mandibles clattered and all eight of its eyes burned bright as a harrowing, lyricless screech broke through the wind.

Echoing far, and causing waves of wind as it let off a cry of death, the glow in its eyes instantly began to dim...

The impact of the strike caused the entire surroundings to sink straight down, cracks flowing through the landscape like a snake in grass.

The earth itself letting out a grating groan, echoes causing the land to rumble, the wind remaining unprovoked as Seth stood in the air admiring his work.

There it lay in the distance, its corpse twitching, remaining skewered by a brilliant, glowing arrow.

"That’s what you get for messing with my people." Seth whispered silently.

His ears twitching, catching noise of movement from a few kilometers behind, but he didn’t turn or worry.

Because it was merely his crew catching up finally.

Seth glanced at his glowing bow, a faint smile marking his lips, "You really are my lucky treasure." he chuckled.

If not for the divine bow, Seth might have been dead long ago, he wouldn’t even have been able to make it through his class quest.

He felt grateful and lucky he found such an overpowered item.

With that said and done, his essence was in dire strain and it was time to dismiss it.

Fortunately it seemed being a silver human did have massive perks, well that and his maxed-out stats, cause Seth could barely feel an ounce of strain on his body.

His health and stamina stood on healthy numbers, showing the divine weapon didn’t put as much strain on his body due to his recent self-upgrades.

Meaning on a good day, with his essence unit at full, he could possibly use this weapon to engage in a full-out battle.

Thinking about the possibilities Seth smiled to himself feeling cheeky.

[Congratulations! You Have Slain Charmed Beast: Mind Crawler!]

[You gro-]

[Error! Error! Unable to supply stats...]

Seth didn’t care about the flickering notification, that wasn’t until... "Huh?"

He blinked, then closed his eyes and tried again, trying to dismiss the bow, yet...

"The fuck?" Seth exclaimed in panic, as the essence flow never stopped, the divine essence kept feeding on him and spreading through the zone as though trying to override the corruption zone.

Seth closed his eyes and tried again and again, yet still no response, he couldn’t summon nor could he dismiss.

He could feel the space tied to his soul, yet it was as though there was a force blocking him.

Seth’s heart once more began to race, his good will towards the Solaris Arc Bow waning.

Panicking, he tried to toss the weapon out of his grasp, yet again it refused to leave.

It was as though the item was stuck to his skin...

Once again Seth cursed, "Fuck! Fuck!" waving his hands erratically with enough force to fan down the building.

Trees rattled and wind kicked yet, it remained glued, his veins throbbing, and the constant drain never letting up.

His face squeezed into a nasty scowl, what was happening?

Why couldn’t he just have some easy wins for once? Did he always have to be this unlucky?

Unfortunately the divine bow never responded to thought or his verbal curses.

The worst thing was that since his access to the inventory was locked it meant that he wouldn’t even be able to summon the oracle orb to get a clue on what was happening and how to stop it.

And that was even if it had any information about the divine.

"System does something...." He screamed into the void, the panic visceral in his tone.

Yet the screens remained silent... But something else responded and that was the corruption zone itself.

...

Far in the distance deep within a grand mountain carpeted by the green of the forest it held.

At the base of this mountain sat a voluminous cave, within which six eyes, glistening with dark shades of crimson, tore through the veil of the dark.

A haunting growl rumbling through the region, this time it wasn’t a reaction because of the intruders.

It was the growl of a beast who had sensed its direct nemesis, a force hell-bent on dissolving corrupt essence from the dawn of time.

A growl that carried fear...

All corruption zone bosses had been ingrained with the blood memory of this force by the corruption itself.

And naturally it knew what to do to combat the overpowering nemesis... even the playing field.

The cave went dark and it was unknown what the zone boss was doing or initiating, but the entire zone and all within could feel the commotion.

In the sky above the crimson shaded sun went dark and the skies went dim grey, clouds brewing a storm as winds raged.

The flow heavy and overwhelming, some trees snapping as the wind pressure raged.

Across the zone both men and beast struggled to resist the raging gales, the only being staying stable being Seth who was mired in raging currents of gold wearing a worried look.

Before Seth could decide which he should be more worried about, the zone or the divine weapon a screen flickered into view.

Unfortunately it wasn’t a reply from the system but a broadcast to all humans within the corruption zone.

A quest was being issued...

[Warning! Warning! The Corruption Guardian has consumed the corruption seed...]

[Due to the dawn of the divine — the absolute nemesis of corruption — the corruption has been forced to evolve into something greater...]

[Warning! Zone status has changed!]

[Corruption Zone has been upgraded to: Abyssal Zone!]

[Quest Issued: Survive!]

Seth blinked twice, reading through the strings of words over and over again, his heart dropping...

He took a short, pained glance at the divine weapon, and muttered in heart-wrenching realization, "I-I just jinxed myself dead, didn’t I..."
