Chapter 59 - Preparing the plan
"We met again, Silas." Eli called out from his chair. He looked past Silas and saw the new face.
"Oh, a new guest. You guys can stay here but don’t cause trouble to the spirit." He said.
Luna nodded timidly and hid behind Silas, grabbing his cloth. Silas smiled at that, grabbed her hand.
"It is fine." He gave her a word and sat down in the chair, facing Eli.
Silas took out the book and started reading. Everyone of the peaks had different personalities and goals.
Although he said he will grant everyone wishes, it was truly an impossible dream. Some seemed destroyed while others wished to use it.
"So any progress?" Eli closed the old book he was reading and asked.
Silas smiled and shook his head. "Yes and no. I got an outline for the plan but I’m gonna need your help."
Eli nodded. "Tell me about it."
Silas closed the book and started explaining everything he learned about the people here. He mixed in with his knowledge about the game and how he got the conclusion of their true meaning.
Eli nodded and quietly listened to his words without interrupting. He picked up the tea cup and nodded with a smile.
"I am surprised."
"At what?" Silas asked, looking at the fruit. He tried to grab it but a few spirits slapped his hand.
"Ouch."
He rubbed his hand and took it back. "Stinky." He muttered.
Eli smiled. "I stayed here for a month and I don’t even know most of their names. And here you are. Just one day and you know almost everything about this place. Maybe that is because you are a human."
"I don’t think my race matters in this." Silas muttered.
"It matters for obvious reasons. You humans have a low lifespan so you rush everything."
"Thanks for the compliment, I guess." Silas scratched his head.
That was a bit racist right? He didn’t think Eli understood what racisms were yet. He sighed and could only give a nod.
"Anyway, let’s talk about the plan." Silas said with a smile.
Eli nodded and soon, Silas began explaining.
How could he deal with everyone?
Midway through the conversation, Eli laid back and asked. "What about Aanacia?"
"To be honest, I don’t have a plan for her. She is like a loose cannon."
"What is a cannon?"
"Ah.. nevermind, I will figure her out on the fly." Silas said. "Can you sense the monster Rowe was talking about?"
Eli shook his head, he lifted up his hand and the green spirit came forth, resting on his finger.
Eli smiled and whispered at the spirit in indescribable language. The spirit nodded with its body and flew into the earth.
"Wait for him. He is searching for the monster you speak of."
Silas nodded and continued his plan. When the night fell, Eli prepared a meal. In truth, it was prepared by the spirits. They took out lavish meals and drinks from the portal and arranged on the table.
"Enjoy. Enjoy." Eli laughed and took a long sip of the red wine.
Silas nodded and looked down into the glass. Perhaps, he had been spoiled by the dragon blood, the wine didn’t taste that good. He was not saying that the quality was not amazing but it didn’t compare to that wine from Floen.
"Where did the spirits get all these?" Silas asked, slicing apart the meat and dipped into the sauce.
He then put it in his mouth and chewed it. The taste was quite good. The plates looked expensive as well.
Even the dinner knife had jewels embedded into it.
And from his knowledge, Spirit didn’t have a home in their world. He could say for sure, different spirits had different kinds of personalities.
"They said they found it in the open and took it."
"Really?" Silas asked in suspicion and nodded.
After the dinner, the green spirit came out from the ground and landed on Eli’s shoulder. It jumped, trying to get the attention.
Eli looked down and nodded.
The green spirit whispered into Eli. Eli continued nodding and paused, his eyes widened.
Seeing the change in expression, Silas frowned, wondering what the spirit found. Eli gave a sigh and dismissed the spirit.
He then lifted up his head and stared at Silas, his eyes smiling.
"Well, the new is surprising."
"Tell me about it." Silas sighed, knowing that the trouble had come to him. He must have been cursed by something because there was no way, his luck was this horrible.
"There is a Beast King beneath this mountain."
Silas squinted his eyes, thinking if he heard the term.
"Not lord."
"Yes. A king."
Silas placed the knife and spoon on the table and laid back, letting out a long sigh.
"Wonderful." He muttered, praising himself for his luck.
The king was much a stronger type of beast than the lord. If the lord could control a hundred beasts then, the king controlled a thousand. And the king controlled and ran deep in the psyche of the beast, fully using the beast to its will.
So facing the king level beast was similar to facing a hive mind which had a thousand beasts under its control.
’It is like facing another Aanacia.’ Silas considered for a moment and shifted the plan slightly.
"Where is that King and what kind of beast?"
"Underground, sleeping. He said it is a worm type. The size is probably about the same as this mountain."
"Then, we need to change our plan. For now, let’s go see the tree."
"Want to break the barrier?"
"Not yet." Silas said and continued explaining his plan in detail. There were a few things he omitted from Eli but that was given, considering the fact that he needed to keep a secret.
The crescent moon was not in the middle of the sky. Silas looked up and ended the conversation. He needed to rest his mind and prepare for tomorrow.
He stood up and walked away from the table, to the edge of the mountain peak. He spread his sense and found Roland setting up a tent with the help of spirits.
There was a little help more like the spirits were messing with him, making him angry. Silas prayed for him and took a different direction.
The one where Luna was sitting.
Luna was looking at the starry sky, beside her was her huge hat placed neatly.
Luna heard a rustling sound and turned around. Her eyes met with him, and a smile formed on her face. She waved at him cutely.
He smiled back and sat beside her.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked, trying to create a conversation with her.
"About you."
"Ah.." Not sure how to answer that reply, he just nodded. He didn’t know she could be that direct.
"Not like that." She immediately denied seeing his awkward face.
Silas sighed in relief.
"I’m just thinking about how your life sucks."
"That is quite rude but I can’t even deny it. I miss my childhood." Silas muttered, recalling the memories of Silas.
Luna turned back to the sky and smiled.
Bored, Silas started playing mana in his hands. Luna took a look and hummed a song.
Perhaps the beauty of the moon or the soft song, the night was wonderful.
