Con-man instructions on how to live as a Noble

Chapter 27 - Cold Logic needed for

"Take a rest, Roland. We are going to be busy at night." Silas said and lay down on the soft bed. His body sunk slowly into the cotton bed.

It was like a beautiful maiden was supporting his body, he was in a blissful sleep.

Soon, he fell asleep, thinking about how he needed to connect with the underworld.

Now that he didn’t have Viremont’s name, he needed to use something else. His knowledge.

When the moon hung in the middle of the sky, accompanied by the countless stars, Silas woke up. He felt refreshed and heavy at the same time.

He stared outside the window and saw the silent town.

A few lights were out. And his eyes picked up a movement across the streets.

He turned and entered the bathroom and washed himself thoroughly. After that, he applied himself with bandages and walked out of the bathroom.

Roland was waiting in his knightly attire.

Silas looked seriously at the young knight and let out a short sigh, shaking his head in disappointment.

"Change your clothes. Something darker. I prefer that you don’t stand out and keep your energy in check. Change the signature everytime. You can do that right?"

Roland nodded slowly, not understanding why.

"Oh." Silas scratched his head that he had omitted his plan again. But even after he vowed to himself to trust others, he still couldn’t change his nature.

’But I can say a few things. Alright, let’s start small.’

Silas nodded to himself and dropped a small reveal about his plan. The part where he would find out in a few minutes.

"We are going to the underworld."

Roland’s eyes widened in surprise and slowly squinted his eyes. "I see. I will change my outfit. Wait a minute."

Silas and Roland were walking in the dark street. They were now far away from the luxurious inn they stayed in.

Their body and head was covered by a thick black cloak. The mist around them was getting chilled. Silas hugged himself and looked around.

On the way, they encountered a few patrol soldiers but they ignored him, turning a blind eye.

That was an unseen rule between Floen and the underworld. Don’t interfere with others?

Silas arrived at the dark tall building. He glanced at the building and smiled. It was screaming that illegal stuff took place inside.

Before Silas could knock on the door to the suspicious building,it flew open.

"Fine, I will take my leave." came the exasperated voice of the young stranger. He sent one last glance inside and slammed the door hard.

He was about to leave but stopped short by Silas who was scanning at the young stranger.

Although the scene was dark, Silas was trained man. He learned to look into the darkness in previous life and now he was second circle knight. With a brief light from the moon, he could see everything clearly.

The young stranger wore a nobleman attire but it was damaged. It seemed like fake but that was a probably what he was aiming for.

’Sharp eyes. A streak of white hair on the side. A signature of Floen Family. But I sense magecraft in the hair. But it is for the black hair to make it darker. Not the white. So.. he is someone real pretending to be a fake.’

Their eyes met and a stranger shoot a mean glance and pushed his shoulder and left the building.

Silas smiled, taking note of the stranger face.

He turned back and knocked the door.

No response came from the inside.

’They should know about my visit. I released my fourth circle mana to the max.’

"If a gentle way doesn’t work, I will do it a hard way." Silas muttered under the cloak.

He gathered mana around his hands, pretending to craft a very powerful spell. Immediately the door opened the fat short man came with a smile.

"Hi, sir."

Silas didn’t answer and continued to refiine the spell inside his hand.

Seeing that, sweat formed on the fat man forehead, he frowned.

"What can I do for you, sir?"

There was no response yet. He needed to intimate more to get the core color of people.

The fat man shot a glance at him and frowned. He lowered his head and spoke in a venomous tone.

"We have our own powerful people too. You don’t want to get hunt down by us, sir. So please refrain from doing something rash. We can talk this through."

Silas smiled under the cloak and lowered his hand. He dispelled the mana around his hand. But he didn’t lower his hand. Intead, he grabbed the fat man’s head and lifted him up to his eyes level forcefully.

"Hmm... I want to make some money. But I have none other to exchange other than information. Do you want it?" Silas said slowly.

"Come inside." The fat man said, previous act vanished, replaced by a cold air. The face of the underworld was indeed scary but Silas was used to it.

There was no emotions playing around here so he didn’t need to worry about that. Cold hard logic was the only thing that matter here. Oh and profits.

The fat man guided the two into the building. They climbed the stairs and passed many strong people. But none of them reached the fourth circle.

They were third or second. It makes sense since the fourth circle humans were hard to come in regular places like this. Only the elite family like Viremont or Floen could spare them effortlessly.

The fat man placed them in a clean room.

"Tea or alcohol?" He asked.

Silas shook his head. "I don’t drink with strangers."

Roland stood behind him like a statue, releasing sharp energy. The fat man ignored the knight and nodded to Silas. " A good trait for someone like us."

"Before we make a deal, how about we start introducing each other.I believe you are a new leaf around here. Maybe to the world of ours." The fat man said, getting on point.

His intuition was correct.

"I am C.C. And yes, I am new to this kind of business." Silas said. The name C.C was his code name during his life on Earth.

It was a short abbreviation of his name.

"I am called Fatty, here. So what is your negotiation? Before you say, we are an information guild of the underworld. One of the famous brunch of the real deal."

"Good. Good. That is what I am looking for. I am here to sell a piece of information."

Fatty frowned. "I believe we don’t lack information but go on."

Silas smiled. He dropped the cloak and revealed his bandage face to Fatty. Fatty didn’t react to this as he thought Silas was just using the bandage to hide his face.

He held a lot of information about this world. Most were secret beyond secrecy. He also knew the location of various treasures.

The game focused a lot on description of the item and background. Even the useless one had an immersive background.

And Silas remembered most of those. He had to remember.

Silas closed his eyes thinking about which information to choose.

Every single one led to problems. He didn’t want to give too much.

He decided. The information that will be very useful for the underworld and him if this knowledge spread.

"Tolstoy Empire is building an army for invasion."

Silas revealed the information.

Fatty jumped up in fright.
