Chapter 778 - 776: United Against the Enemy
At that moment, the Seven-Colored Demon Empress said to him, "It seems we came here for nothing!"
"Hahaha, this feeling is great. Would you like to try it?"
"Let’s not. Our Heavenly Tribulation is nowhere near as strong as yours!"
The group immediately shook their heads. Ye Fan’s cultivation was famously freakish, so how could they dare compare themselves to him? If they really did that, they would probably be wiped out before their Heavenly Tribulation even began.
Ye Fan said, "The Netherworld Ghost Clan’s army is attacking with overwhelming force. At this moment, our three factions—the Righteous Divine Lineage, the Evil Netherworld God, and the Demon Clan—must unite and work together.
"Otherwise, we truly won’t have any chance of winning!"
Ye Fan stated this fact plainly. Not even counting Ancient Strong People like the Gun God, he could deduce the true strength of this offensive from their vanguard army alone. It was not to be underestimated. If the Ancestor of Netherworld personally led the attack, they wouldn’t stand a chance. Therefore, even if they united their efforts, Ye Fan had no confidence in victory.
Many of the Divine Domain’s higher-ups nodded in agreement.
However, at that moment, a dissenting voice called out.
"Did you forget about us mortals? You’re a mortal too! After so many years of trials and transformations, we mortals are no longer weak," Alice said defiantly.
At the same time, Su Qingxue and Heather were also very dissatisfied. Ye Fan had forgotten the mortals at this critical juncture, which crossed their line. Even though they were fond of him, they had to voice a strong protest.
"My fault, my fault," Ye Fan said quickly. "You’re right. We should all unite and work together to fight against the Netherworld Ghost Clan!
"I believe this difficulty is only temporary. Sooner or later, the Divine Domain will become the Holy Land of the Great Thousand World!"
This was Ye Fan’s goal. As long as supreme experts emerged within the Divine Domain, it would indeed become the Holy Land of the Great Thousand World. After all, the Great Thousand World was vast, and becoming a Holy Land was incredibly difficult. Since ancient times, no world had ever lacked for geniuses, yet the number of those who became supreme experts could be counted on one hand. In any given era, only one or two individuals reached that level. Still, Ye Fan was confident about the future.
His words ignited everyone’s confidence. The upper echelons, in particular, all knew that Ye Fan was a Heaven-defying existence capable of contending with the Heavenly Dao. Since following him, the so-called Righteous Gods were no longer just a title; they were all true Heaven-defiers. Although they might fail in the future, they would not give up on their goal.
Instantly, a wave of fervor swept through the crowd.
"You forgot about us!"
Everyone looked over to see a large troop gathering nearby, led by someone Ye Fan never expected to see. He hadn’t thought this person would appear!
It was Qiu Ji, the woman with whom he shared a history of both love and conflict. She had brought the remnants of the Evil Gods. Although friction still existed between the Evil Gods and the Righteous Gods, they were all obedient under Qiu Ji’s rule and had not caused any trouble.
Qiu Ji declared, "Even though we Evil Gods have been defeated and depleted, as long as a single one of us remains, we will share the responsibility of guarding the Divine Domain!"
Everyone nodded in agreement. At that moment, morale was ignited. No matter how much friction there had been, it was all in the past. Now, they had to look to the future.
"On behalf of the Righteous Gods and the mortals, I welcome you," Ye Fan said.
"On behalf of the Demon Clan, I welcome you," the Seven-Colored Demon Empress added.
Qiu Ji was satisfied. Her strength impressed Ye Fan, for she had already become a Divine Monarch.
The others left to organize the army, leaving only Ye Fan and Qiu Ji behind.
Ye Fan smiled. "I didn’t expect you to come back."
"The Divine Domain is my home," Qiu Ji retorted. "Where else would I go?"
"Thank you," Ye Fan said sincerely.
"Thank me for what?" she asked.
"I personally eliminated the God Monarch Palace, yet you gave up on killing me," Ye Fan explained. "You even came to join the battle at this dire moment. For that, I must thank you."
"There’s no need for that," Qiu Ji replied flatly.
"Why?" Ye Fan asked curiously.
"I intervened because I had to protect our home. Once those ominous creatures break through, we Evil Gods will suffer too! So, I had no choice but to act! Furthermore, you killed my master, so my hatred for you hasn’t diminished in the slightest. Once everything calms down, I will still kill you!" Qiu Ji said, her expression displeased.
Ye Fan just laughed. "I knew it. You’re a woman who’s tough on the outside but soft on the inside."
He stepped forward and pulled Qiu Ji into an embrace.
"Let go!" Qiu Ji shouted, struggling as her face flushed red.
Ye Fan didn’t let go, instead kissing her deeply. She continued to beat against his chest, but to Ye Fan, it felt more like flirting. Suddenly, he hoisted Qiu Ji over his shoulder and carried her away.
Qiu Ji knew resistance was futile, so she let the scoundrel Ye Fan have his way. Still, she was secretly happy. After all, Ye Fan was, and always would be, the man she had chosen for herself.
「Meanwhile, outside the Chaotic Void」
The area was still a swirl of chaos, but it had a set of coordinates. Here lay hundreds of Void Battleships, each with an army of over 50,000, meaning the total force was at least five million strong—and that was a conservative estimate. They had completely enveloped this patch of the Void.
Terrifying Martial Arts fluctuations emanated from the battleships. On the most colossal vessel, a gathering of mighty Martial Artists stood. Above them was a man radiating Netherworld Energy. He appeared delicate, but his aura was incredibly firm. Beside him rested a long spear that vibrated with the most potent energy imaginable. It was a fearsome sight; its sharpness alone was enough to make one’s hair stand on end.
He was the Gun God, a renowned expert of the Netherworld Clan. His presence was extraordinary, and his Martial Arts were even more so.
Just then, a man was brought up under guard. It was the Fierce Ghost Leader, currently in a sorry state. He had traveled through the Void Chaos regions, taking many wrong turns before stumbling here by mistake.
"I, Fierce Ghost of the vanguard, pay my respects to the Gun God!" he said hastily. He trembled all over. Even with his cultivation at the Subancestor Realm, he dared not act recklessly before the Gun God, not even daring to breathe too loudly.
The Gun God spoke. "Fierce Ghost Leader, where is your army?"
"My... my army... they... they were all annihilated," the Fierce Ghost Leader stammered.
All the surrounding Martial Artists immediately turned their gazes toward him, and the Fierce Ghost Leader felt an endless, oppressive force wash over him.
The Gun God, however, remained calm. "That world shouldn’t have any powerful experts left," he said. "I once fought a battle with its strongest expert, the True Dragon. I was severely injured by him, but he was slain by me. There’s probably no one there capable of annihilating your entire army!"
The Fierce Ghost Leader hurriedly explained, "There was a young man undergoing his Heavenly Tribulation inside the breach we created! My army was completely crushed by it!"
"Crushed?" the Gun God said calmly, turning to the crowd. "Do you all believe that?"
"HAHAHA!"
The crowd roared with laughter, mocking the Fierce Ghost Leader. Though furious, he dared not be insolent. He quickly pleaded, "Gun God, everything I have said is the truth, without any falsehood! I implore you to investigate, Gun God!"
The Gun God said, "You led tens of thousands of our warriors to their deaths, and you still have the gall to return. Will you commit suicide, or must I do it for you?"
The Gun God gave him no chance to explain. Even if every word he said was true, he would not be given the opportunity.
