Chapter 151: Overnight Sensation
The boys from the other plated rooms stared at Killian— the one who had defeated more than a dozen of outcasts in one night.
"Do you need something?"
While he still spoke, they began to disperse, as if snapped from their trance.
Killian stood still there, till they were gone.
He turned to the only one who remained. A tall masked boy.
"You are the Grim Warden guy, right?" The boy asked.
Killian didn't know if he should agree, but the boy must've already gotten an idea that he was.
So he replied with a 'hmm' sound. The boy nodded, looking relieved before returning to his room with a silver-plated door.
Killian continued towards the bathroom.
With how everyone already knew what happened, they must've seen the body of the Crafter when they came back from the match.
The thought sent a chill crawling up his spine.
'That Light Lady, what did she even do after I left?'
He stretched his arms and shook the thoughts of his head as he walked to the bathroom. "I should just eat first." His day had started with a long list again.
He spent an hour in the shower, mostly staring at the ground, watching his tendrils wriggle as thousands of water droplets touched them.
From his inventory, the pair of eyes fell out. It dropped on the ground and in one swoop, the tendrils went for it.
They toyed with the pair as balls, before using them like catch balls. Under the shower, the bloodied nerves connected behind the eyes were rinsed clean.
"Don't you think rinsing that off loses its flavor?" He asked his tendrils with a fond smile. "Hurry and eat it."
They juggled them about some more, before tossing them into their darkened bodies.
Killian switched off the shower tap, and his tendrils retracted into his body.
He took an extra half an hour, cleaning, dressing, and combing out his hair just because he had the time.
'I also don't want to meet that Coordinator and the A-Rank Warden soon. If I get involved with a strange incident so soon, he'll suspect my involvement with the Withered Fae and Fire Centurions even more.'
Someone banged on the door. Killian snapped his head at his gold-plated card.
Anyone who couldn't access the bathroom didn't have the card, and that meant they shouldn't be in there.
He ignored the door till they banged again even harder.
"Killian? Are you in there?"
Killian's eyes widened, before he hurriedly rubbed the hair cream on his hair. "Wait, Juda. I'm coming."
The door clicked open and Juda rushed into the bathroom, and closed the door. Killian also saw that there were other boys watching them during the few seconds he looked out the door.
The two stayed quiet, sinking into the realisation.
"You became a sensation overnight, Kill. And Evelyn is feeling really pissed about it."
Killian slowly turned his neck to Juda. "What does that have to do with Evelyn? Did they do something to her?"
"Well, what do you think?" Juda sighed. "Keith is in the hospital, so no one can ask him questions as your twin brother and partner."
Killian sighed, facing upwards, then looked back at Juda. "So how does that affect Evelyn? Or you?"
"Evelyn and I were found out to be in your group. And you attended her match yesterday, right?" Juda pointed at the door behind him. "Those guys saw you two."
Killian remembered the crowd that avoided him, and then Evelyn when they saw him with her. He rubbed his face, feeling responsible. "Is she overwhelmed?"
"She is." Juda sighed. "They ask her, 'Oh my, what is the Grim Warden's training regime' and 'Oh my, is he single?"
"Huh?" Killian's hands fell off his face. "Single?"
"You know how it is. Evelyn is fighting for her life. Like literally. She blasted some boys down the stairs and got time-out. She needed it."
Killian gulped down saliva. He stared down at his hands that were oddly drained of warmth.
"I should text Keith to stay in the hospital until his match is set." He sighed. "I'm feeling so sore already."
With the amount of attention on him, and the fact that everyone already knew his nickname, he wouldn't be able to watch Keith's match.
"I just snuck around to find you because no one really recognized me." Juda folded his arms. "Until I came into this Dorm. Everyone here looked mysterious too."
Killian shrugged. "Check out the name. Edgy and all."
Juda chuckled. "They are all edgy. I saw a Dorm named Crimson Tiger. I wondered if that's a real species."
Killian exhaled, gathering his bathing supplies into his bag. He already knew the face Evelyn would give him if he met with her.
'It's not like this is my fault.'
"Maybe you should've eaten the Crafter whole."
'Maybe. Or leave the Crafter with his eyeballs.'
He opened the door of the bathroom, and there were no one on the way. He felt eyes on him but not as intently. "They can't even hide their curiosity."
"If they come too close, I'll burn them. I'm feeling better already." Juda said, looking left and right for his victims.
Killian watched him with a small smile.
The fact Juda didn't question what actions led to the unwarranted attention might just mean he wasn't surprised with his survival methods.
"I'm really thinking of leaving this academy. With this now, I feel I should just return to Olpha Region and continue my training. Tell George for me."
Juda nodded. "The attention is too much."
"It is. And before I leave, spare me a training session, okay?" Killian started heading for his room.
"What for?" Juda followed him. "We are both Fire Users. Do you think my Healing Fire will heal your soreness?"
Killian only chuckled. 'I can't just say it's because I promised my Void Shield to eat your fire, can I?'
A few steps to Killian's room, Juda stepped forward, fire blazing from his hands.
Killian immediately held him back, and stood in front of him. "Relax. He's from Olpha Region."
Ephraim froze, staring at the boy who nearly crisped him for getting close to Killian. His hand lowered, and he hid it behind him, a cold air escaping to the surroundings.
Killian had noticed, and pulled Juda farther away from the boy. 'Such cold intensity… it might have killed Juda or badly injured him.'
His mind went to the never-melting glacier in the training room. 'Did it belong to him?'
