Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss

Chapter 432 - 429: The Mysterious Power Inside Her Body

Hearing his mother say his father already knew, Aaron Sinclair nodded. "It’s good that Dad knows. I hope he comes back to be with you soon."

Celeste Grant looked up at her son. ’With the Mysterious Ancient Mirror,’ she thought, ’I can see Javier Sinclair even if we aren’t in the same world.’ The thought brought her a sense of peace.

"It’s alright," she said, her thoughts turning into words. "Before your dad left, he gave me an Ancient Mirror, a Divine Artifact. So even while he’s in the Upper Realm, I can see him through it. In a way, it’s almost like he never left my side."

"Oh!" Aaron exclaimed. "That’s pretty neat. If what you’re saying is true, Mom, then it’ll be really convenient to see Dad whenever you want."

Celeste Grant hummed in agreement.

"Yes, very convenient."

As they spoke, Aaron Sinclair sat beside Celeste Grant, the excitement of becoming an older brother written all over his face.

He grinned. "I’ve waited so long, and now I’m finally getting a little sister. I could only watch with envy when I saw other people with sisters. Now this overwhelming fortune... bah, this overwhelming happiness is finally my turn! HAHAHAHA!"

Watching him giggle like a fool, Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him. "Son, you’re a titan in the Cultivation World, and here you are laughing like a complete moron."

A smile played on Aaron Sinclair’s lips. "A moron I’ll be, then! What’s a little pride compared to having a sister?" He reached out again, gently patting Celeste Grant’s stomach. He couldn’t feel anything through her flat belly, but that didn’t dampen his excitement. "My dear sister, welcome to the family. You’ll be the apple of your big brother’s eye, the little princess of our Demonic Sects."

Celeste Grant didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

"She’s just the size of a bean sprout right now. You can say all you want, but she can’t hear a thing."

Aaron Sinclair gave a faint smile. "It’s fine. She’ll grow up. That doesn’t mean I can’t talk to her." ’My sister is only a little over a month old,’ he mused. ’There are still over eight months until she’s born. That’ll go by quickly.’ He made up his mind then and there. He would not leave. He would stay and continue his Cultivation in the Bloodfiend Den, and in his free time, he could come talk to his little sister.

He was determined to witness his sister’s birth.

In the days that followed, Celeste Grant would activate the Ancient Mirror every so often to see Javier Sinclair in the Upper Realm. Each time, he would ask about her health and the baby.

This continued until one evening.

She was speaking with Javier Sinclair through the Mysterious Ancient Mirror when she suddenly saw him clutch his head, cold sweat beading on his forehead. He seemed to be in immense pain.

Javier Sinclair was not a man to even furrow his brow unless the pain was soul-searing. Seeing him in this state, Celeste Grant’s face filled with worry. "Javier Sinclair, what’s wrong?" she asked, unable to hold back. "What’s happening on your end?"

On the other side, Javier Sinclair saw her distress and forced himself to endure the excruciating pain that felt like it was slicing his very soul apart. He managed a weak smile and waved a dismissive hand. "It’s nothing, nothing. Celeste, don’t you worry. My Divine Soul is just a little unstable. Your father will go meditate to stabilize it, and everything will be fine." Even as he said this, Javier Sinclair himself was bewildered by his condition.

Celeste Grant could see how pale he was.

She didn’t believe for a second that he was fine.

"Go meditate. But tell me the instant something is wrong."

"I will."

And just like that,

his image vanished from the Ancient Mirror.

「In the days that followed.」

Celeste Grant couldn’t reach Javier Sinclair. Whenever she activated the Ancient Mirror, his image was gone, as if blocked by some invisible force.

She was terribly worried about him.

Then, one night when she was two months pregnant,

she tried to activate the Ancient Mirror again, hoping to see Javier Sinclair. But just like the countless times before, an invisible force blocked the connection. She couldn’t see him.

Her heart ached with worry for Javier Sinclair.

Tapping her finger on the mirror’s edge, she summoned the Mirror Spirit. "Miro, what’s going on? Why can’t I reach your master anymore? What’s happening to him?"

The tiny, sprite-like Mirror Spirit materialized, circled her once, and then landed atop the Ancient Mirror.

The Mirror Spirit flapped its wings. "Mistress, I am only a Mirror Spirit; I have no right to interfere in my master’s affairs. But please, do not worry. I can sense that he is in no danger. There is only one possibility for something like this to happen: for some reason, my master’s Primordial Spirit has fallen into a deep slumber."

Celeste Grant froze, her head bowed in thought as she tried to understand the Mirror Spirit’s words.

’A Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit doesn’t just fall asleep under normal circumstances,’ she thought. ’Even during secluded Cultivation, it remains conscious.’ This left her at a complete loss, with no idea what was happening to Javier Sinclair. The not knowing was what made her so worried.

As she was lost in thought, the Ancient Mirror in her hand began to glow. In the next instant, the Mirror Spirit she had been speaking with vanished with a WHOOSH.

At the same time, a line of text appeared on the Ancient Mirror.

Fifteen thousand years ago, the Demon Realm.

The next moment, a figure appeared in the Ancient Mirror. A man in white robes sat beneath an ancient tree. A gentle breeze stirred the swaying branches, and slivers of sunlight seemed to fall through the leaves, dappling his form.

He was playing chess against himself. He lifted his gaze slightly, looking out at her. The golden Demon Pattern on his forehead was sharp and clear, and a Divine Power flowed within his golden pupils.

Seeing the figure in the Ancient Mirror, Celeste Grant was taken aback. ’Did the Ancient Mirror connect to fifteen thousand years in the past on its own again?’

The worry had not yet faded from her face, a fact that did not escape the man’s notice. Inside the Ancient Mirror, his gaze shifted from her face down to her belly. He hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"Are you and the child... well?"

A faint blush crept onto his cheeks after he asked, likely recalling the time she had appeared so suddenly before.

Hearing his question, Celeste Grant nodded slightly. "Yes, I’m doing well, and so is the baby."

Usually, she was much more enthusiastic, even teasing him the moment she started talking. Today, however, she was reserved. Something was clearly amiss.

His eyes swept over her.

"Has something happened on your end?"

Hearing his confident tone, Celeste Grant was momentarily surprised but chose not to hide anything. She nodded. "The version of you from my time went to the Upper Realm’s Demonic Domain and hasn’t come back. I used to be able to see him with the Ancient Mirror, but then I lost contact completely. It’s as if some invisible force is blocking my view, so I can’t see what’s happening to him. Miro said his Primordial Spirit fell into a deep slumber for some reason. Do you have any idea what could be going on with you... with him?"

Javier Sinclair, in the Ancient Mirror, stiffened slightly before speaking in a measured tone. "The one by your side in the future could only be a clone of my Primordial Spirit. If... if the Primordial Spirit fell asleep in the future, it could be due to memory integration or a Primordial Spirit Fusion. In any case, it is of no consequence. You need not concern yourself with it."
