Chapter 665 - 663: I Can Tell You, I Have One Condition
This man was indeed one of the Celestria, and a Prince of Empyria at that, but in essence, he wasn’t entirely one of them.
He was Ian Valerius, the second Prince of Empyria, born of the same mother as the Crown Prince. But initially, his mother had only been pregnant with one child: the Crown Prince, Elara Valerius. The extra child, Ian, was originally formed from the lingering sinister and wicked thoughts within Empyria’s Purification Pool.
The Purification Pool was located in a place of extreme yin energy within Empyria. When members of the Celestria developed stray or evil thoughts during their Cultivation, they would undergo a baptism there to expel these notions and prevent the growth of a Heart Demon. Over time, Ian Valerius was born from this accumulation.
When Ian Valerius first came into being, the first person he saw was the pregnant Empress, whom he mistook for his mother. Delighted, he entered her womb, manifesting as the extra child and becoming Elara Valerius’s brother.
For the Empress of Empyria, suddenly having an extra son was not a good thing.
After sensing that something was wrong, the pregnant Empress immediately investigated the child’s origins. Using the Heaven Peeping Mirror, she saw a mass of black matter emanating a foul aura. From this, the Empress learned that he was a manifestation of the evil thoughts from the Purification Pool, one that had gained sentience and taken root in her womb, seeking to be born.
At first, she wanted to eliminate this child. However, the Crown Prince, Elara Valerius, was still in her womb. Eradicating this thing would also affect the Crown Prince, potentially causing him to be born with a deficient Divine Soul.
To protect her own child, the pregnant Empress decided to wait until the babies were safely born before destroying the extra one. But with the children in her belly, two children, two lives, she grew attached as a mother. So after they were born, looking at the two chubby, healthy babies, she ultimately couldn’t bring herself to do it.
As a mother, how could she kill her own child? Even if that child was formed from evil thoughts, a mass of wickedness, he had been born from her womb. He shared her bloodline. He was her son.
Ian Valerius’s identity was no secret. From the moment he was born, he was the subject of intense scrutiny.
Ian Valerius was fundamentally formed from the evil thoughts in the Purification Pool. It was certain that as he grew, he would become a potential threat to Empyria. Because of this, the inhabitants of Empyria unanimously decided to have him secretly executed. His nominal father, his uncles, and all the other Immortals in the heavens—not a single one pleaded for him. They all wanted him dead.
It was his mother who knelt for days and nights on end to spare Ian Valerius’s life. However, she was forbidden from ever contacting him again. She was not allowed to care for him, nor was she permitted to see him.
Ian Valerius’s fate was sealed.
He was born into The Royal Clan.
And he was abandoned at birth.
Ian Valerius was cast off to be raised by palace servants, left to fend for himself in some remote corner. Everyone despised and detested him, calling him the incarnation of evil, a being that should never have existed. Growing up in such an environment caused the evil and wickedness inherent in him to magnify infinitely.
Already a crooked sapling, Ian Valerius grew even more twisted. He became obsessed with provoking an Immortal-Demon War, wanting to plunge The Twin Realms into chaos. So, he constantly schemed in the shadows. He even found an Abyssal Aberration, a remnant of an Ancient Divine Artifact, and used it to target both Celestials and Fiends.
He loathed Empyria and hated the Celestria. He hated his own identity, and he hated even more that he and Elara Valerius could be born of the same mother yet receive such vastly different treatment.
From childhood to adulthood, everything Elara Valerius did was right. Everyone loved him. As for himself, even breathing the air was a sin.
Now aware of Ian Valerius’s identity,
Javier Sinclair stated coolly, "What you truly are is a manifestation of the residual evil thoughts from the Purification Pool. These evil thoughts stem from the various negative emotions of the people of Empyria. By a twist of fate, you became the twin brother of Empyria’s Crown Prince."
Ian Valerius glanced at him, a mocking sneer on his face.
"That’s right. My ’dear’ older brother is noble and virtuous, the Crown Prince of Empyria. And I’m just a rat crawling in the shadows, a vile pest everyone wants to crush."
"You see it, don’t you? Aren’t they hypocrites? It was their own scheming minds, their own dark and negative emotions, that gave birth to me. Yet they scorn me as evil and disgusting. They think my very existence is a disgrace to Empyria, an insult to them. HAHAHA!"
"I was just born into this world. Am I really at fault? Why does everyone want me dead? Do I truly deserve to die?"
As he spoke, Ian Valerius quietly lowered his head. He let out a sinister laugh. "I’m not the second Prince of Empyria. I am malice itself. Since everyone wants me dead, I won’t let any of them off the hook. A hypocritical world like this shouldn’t even exist."
Javier Sinclair said nothing.
’In a way, this was a mess of Empyria’s own making. If they couldn’t raise a child, if they saw him as a threat, they should have dealt with it from the very beginning. Dealing with it at the source would have been best. Instead, they let him be born only to abuse him, to treat him like an animal. Forget the fact that he was a manifestation of evil; even a normal person would have been twisted by such treatment.’
’It was always these people from Empyria who would sprout Heart Demons and evil thoughts at the drop of a hat during their Cultivation. In The Demon Realm, such things simply didn’t exist.’
Thinking this, he finally spoke: "Settle your personal grudges on your own. I have no desire to get involved. But you shouldn’t have tried to scheme against me. You don’t have the strength for it. Trying to reap the rewards while others do the fighting? You’re far too optimistic. My temper is not that good."
As his voice fell,
Ian Valerius suddenly looked up.
"You can’t touch me."
Sprawled on the ground, Ian Valerius suddenly looked at him and said, "Javier Sinclair, I know you are The Demon God. Don’t you want to unify The Six Realms? I can help you. I control The Abyssal Ancient Worm King, and I have The Ancient Worm Legion at my command. You have The Army of Demons. We can join forces—no, I can help you. I can work for you."
Javier Sinclair: "..."
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I have no interest in unifying The Six Realms." ’He couldn’t even be bothered to manage the vast Demon Realm, and this guy wanted him to expand his territory.’
A soft chuckle was heard.
Then, Ian suddenly spoke up:
"You must love your wife very much, right?"
Javier Sinclair’s face instantly turned cold.
He raised his hand and made a grasping motion at the air. The man on the ground was instantly restrained by a powerful force and lifted into the air.
"AHH..."
Seeing that he was about to be turned to ash, Ian Valerius hurriedly shouted, "I know a secret you don’t—one about your wife. I know you’re The Demon God and you’re supposedly omniscient, but not everything in this world is within your control."
Javier Sinclair raised a slight eyebrow and released his grip. Ian Valerius fell back to the ground. "Quite the talker. Give me a reason not to kill you."
Ian Valerius glanced at him and said, "I can tell you. But I have one condition."
