Devara did not answer the voice from the heavens immediately. Instead, his gaze returned to the three chains.
The transparent darkness running through them had begun to pulse.
Devara slowly lowered his raised hand and reached forward.
His fingers passed through the golden radiance before closing around all three chains at once.
The moment his hands touched them, the infinite symbol upon his palm flared brilliantly.
The chains resisted.
Not with physical strength.
There was no visible force pulling against Devara.
Yet he could feel something deeper than muscle resisting his attempt.
It was as though the chains were anchored somewhere beyond the physical world, attached to an invisible foundation that refused to let them move.
Devara tightened his grip.
"Then let us see how strong you really are."
He pulled.
For several moments, nothing happened.
Then the ends of the chains inside Devara’s grasp began to heat.
The transparent darkness gradually changed, becoming almost black-red around his fingers.
Tiny sparks of golden light appeared where Devara’s power collided with the curse.
A horrible sound suddenly echoed through the arena.
SKREEEEEECH!
It sounded like metal being dragged across enormous stone, except there was no physical surface producing the noise.
The sound seemed to come directly from the curse itself.
Everyone flinched.
Yami immediately looked toward Shani.
Her brother’s body had stiffened.
Yet strangely, he did not appear to be in pain.
There was no visible wound.
No blood. No pressure against his body. No physical force whatsoever.
Shani could not even feel Devara pulling him.
And yet...
He could feel something happening.
It was an indescribable sensation, as though something that had been buried inside his existence for ages was slowly being dragged toward the surface.
Shani’s eyes widened.
"The curse..."
His voice was barely audible.
"I can feel it."
Yama immediately looked toward him.
"What do you mean?"
Shani swallowed.
"Devara isn’t pulling my body."
His gaze remained fixed upon the chains.
"He is pulling the curse."
The realization sent a chill through everyone who heard him.
Devara continued pulling.
The muscles in his arm tightened, not because the chains possessed physical weight, but because he was forcing his own divine authority against something that existed outside ordinary physical laws.
The chain around Shani’s leg began to tremble violently.
The one around his eyes tightened for a moment before beginning to move.
The chain around his neck produced another terrible screech.
SKREEEEEECH!
The darkened heavens responded.
Thunder rolled across the sky.
The mysterious voice remained silent.
It was watching.
Devara gritted his teeth and pulled harder.
The golden infinite symbol on his palm spun faster.
The three chains began emerging from Shani’s body by tiny increments.
Only a few strands at first.
But Shani felt the difference immediately.
For the first time in his existence, something that had always been part of him seemed to be becoming separate.
He instinctively touched his chest.
"It is moving."
Yami’s eyes filled with tears.
"Brother..."
Shani looked toward her voice.
For a brief moment, he almost raised his eyes.
Then he stopped himself.
The old fear returned.
But this time, beneath that fear was something else.
Hope.
Devara noticed it.
He tightened his grip.
"Hold on, Shani."
Shani looked toward him.
"I am not letting go."
The three chains screamed again.
SKREEEEEEEEEECH!
The sound shook the arena.
The golden light surrounding Devara intensified until everyone nearby had to shield their eyes.
The invisible force anchoring the curses resisted him with increasing intensity, yet Devara continued pulling, refusing to release even a single chain.
This was no longer about strength.
It was a struggle between a man determined to free someone he loved and an ancient law that had existed long before either of them.
And for the first time, that ancient law was beginning to move.
Devara felt the resistance suddenly increase.
The three chains had stopped trembling and had begun pulling back against him with a force that was no longer subtle.
The golden infinite symbol on his palm burned brighter, its radiance spreading across his arm as he tightened his grip around all three restraints.
His feet dug into the ground.
His shoulders tensed.
For the first time since he had begun pulling, Devara stopped holding back.
He drew upon his full strength.
"BREAK!"
The word thundered from his mouth.
Devara pulled with everything he possessed.
For one terrifying instant, the entire arena seemed to bend around the struggle.
The golden light from his palm erupted outward, the three chains stretched to their absolute limit, and the transparent darkness covering them began cracking like ancient glass.
CRACK!
A fracture appeared along the chain binding Shani’s leg.
Then another.
CRACK! CRACK!
The chain around his eyes began splitting as well.
The restraint around his neck shook violently, its dark surface becoming covered with countless fractures.
Shani suddenly felt something he had never experienced before.
The burden was moving.
The weight that had followed him for so long was being torn away.
Devara gave one final pull.
KRRRRAAAAAAACK!
All three chains shattered.
They did not simply snap.
They exploded into hundreds of fragments of transparent darkness, scattering through the golden light.
A deafening screech erupted from the broken remnants.
SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!
The shattered darkness began gathering together.
The fragments twisted and merged above Shani, forming something horrifying.
A gigantic shadow resembling the head of a crow emerged from the broken curse.
Its beak opened unnaturally wide as another piercing screech tore through the heavens.
Its eyes burned with an eerie crimson glow before the shadow suddenly shot upward.
It flew toward the darkened sky like a creature desperately escaping captivity.
The enormous crow-shaped shadow vanished into the clouds.
For several seconds, nobody moved.
Then Shani staggered.
Not because he was injured.
Because something was missing.
Something that had been there for as long as he could remember.
He instinctively touched his leg.
He stood still.
Then he realized something.
His leg did not feel heavy.
His body felt... lighter.
Much lighter.
It was as though an enormous mountain had suddenly been lifted from his shoulders after he had carried its weight for his entire existence.
Shani took one uncertain step.
Then another.
His familiar limp was gone.
His breathing became unsteady.
He stared at his own feet in disbelief.
"What..."
His voice trembled.
"I..."
He took another step.
Perfectly balanced.
No pain. No burden. No invisible restraint.
Shani’s hand slowly rose toward his eyes.
He could feel something there had changed as well.
The pressure that had always accompanied his gaze was gone.
The instinctive fear of looking at someone he loved had disappeared.
His breathing caught.
Yami was standing directly before him.
For the first time, Shani looked at his sister.
Actually looked at her.
Their eyes met.
Yami froze looking at Shani.
Shani froze looking at his sister directly.
Neither spoke.
Then Yami’s eyes filled with tears.
"Brother..."
Shani’s lips trembled.
He could see her.
Not through lowered eyes.
Not through the corner of his vision.
Not while deliberately avoiding her face.
He could look directly at his sister.
And nothing happened.
No curse. No darkness. No terrible consequence.
Only Yami standing before him with tears streaming down her cheeks.
Shani slowly smiled.
A smile filled with disbelief, relief and emotions he had been forced to bury for years.
"I can see you."
Yami immediately rushed forward and embraced him.
Shani wrapped his arms around his sister.
For the first time, there was no fear that his gaze might hurt her.
Behind them, Surya Dev stood completely speechless.
Chaya covered her mouth as tears gathered in her eyes.
Neelima and Dhamini held each other’s hands, both overwhelmed by what they were witnessing.
And Devara stood a short distance away, his hand still glowing faintly with the remnants of the golden infinite symbol.
He looked at Shani and smiled.
The curse had been broken.
But above them, the darkened heavens remained.
The mysterious presence that had warned Devara had not spoken again.
It had simply watched.
Because whatever had just happened was no longer merely an attempt to interfere with Fate.
Devara had actually succeeded.
For several moments, Shani simply stood there, staring at Yami as though he was afraid that the moment he blinked, everything would return to the way it had been.
Then the emotions he had kept buried for so long finally broke through.
He turned toward Devara.
Without saying a word, Shani stepped forward and pulled him into a tight embrace.
Devara was caught slightly off guard by the suddenness of it, but a smile soon appeared on his face as he wrapped his arms around his brother-in-law.
"Thank you,"
Shani whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
"I don’t know what else I can say. You have given me something I had stopped believing I could ever have."
Devara gently patted his back.
"You don’t have to thank me. You are my family. If I had the ability to remove your burden, why would I simply stand and watch you carry it?"
Shani tightened the embrace for another moment before finally pulling away.
His eyes were still moist, but there was an unfamiliar lightness in his expression.
Then his gaze moved toward Neelima and Dhamini.
Both women were standing nearby.
Neelima was smiling through her tears, while Dhamini could barely hold herself together. The moment Shani approached them, Dhamini’s composure completely collapsed.
Shani opened his arms.
Both women immediately stepped into his embrace.
Neelima held him tightly, laughing softly through her tears, while Dhamini buried her face against his chest.
"I am sorry," she whispered repeatedly.
Shani looked down at her.
"Dhamini..."
"I am sorry,"
she repeated, her voice breaking.
"All these years... you suffered because of what I did. Every time you lowered your eyes, every time you avoided looking at someone you loved, every time you had to endure the pain of your own curse... I knew that I was the reason."
Her tears soaked into his clothing.
"I could never forgive myself for it."
Shani gently placed his hand against the back of her head.
"Enough."
Dhamini shook her head.
"No. I should have—"
"You have carried that guilt long enough."
She finally looked up at him.
Shani wiped one of the tears from her cheek.
"I know what happened. I know the circumstances. And I know you have regretted it every day since then. But if you continue punishing yourself for something that has already passed, then you will only create another chain for yourself."
Dhamini stared at him silently.
Shani smiled.
"And I have had quite enough of chains for one lifetime."
A small, broken laugh escaped Dhamini through her tears.
Neelima smiled as well.
Shani pulled both of his wives closer.
"For years, I could not look at the people I loved without fearing what my own eyes might do to them. Today, that fear is gone."
His gaze moved between Neelima and Dhamini.
"And I don’t want either of you to spend another moment believing that you must carry the weight of my curse."
Dhamini began crying again, but this time she was smiling.
She wrapped her arms around him even tighter.
Shani held both women close, his eyes closing briefly as he allowed himself to experience the simple happiness he had been denied for so long.
Nearby, Yami watched her brother with tears of happiness.
Devara stood beside her and quietly placed a reassuring hand upon her shoulder.
Yami leaned slightly against him.
For her, this wedding had already become far more than the day she married the man she loved.
It had become the day her brother finally looked at her again.
And for Shani, the three invisible chains that had shaped his existence were gone.
The weight had finally been lifted.
Not because fate had changed its mind on its own, but because someone had cared enough to reach into the darkness and pull those chains apart.
