Chapter 141: Two Young Girls
Chapter 141: Two Young Girls
"Uh... well, I must make a solemn statement. First of all, that ad wasn’t posted by me, and secondly, I absolutely won’t keep you two as mistresses." Zhang Yang explained speechlessly, "Alright... I just said it casually earlier. If you’re not willing, I won’t force you. Just pretend I never said it."
Seeing Zhang Yang about to leave, Liu Yingying panicked a little, quickly grabbed him, and smiled sweetly, saying, "President Zhang, um… Sister Zhou was just joking with you earlier. Do you really have a place for us?"
"Of course, it’s true. And I’ve already said, the most important thing is that since you’re the legal advisors of our company, it’ll be convenient for us to consult you whenever we have legal issues."
"It’s just that… you two just graduated, right?" Zhang Yang finally understood. These two beauties looked so young and tender. No matter how mature they tried to act, they were still young girls. How could they be bold enough to open a law firm? Don’t they realize they’re just two rookies?
"President Zhang, you can rest assured about our professional skills." Liu Yingying raised her hand and swore earnestly, "Sister Zhou used to be a practicing lawyer at Meining’s famous Rui Si Law Firm. Although I’m a newly graduated law master, I also have my practice qualification. I even won the gold medal at the National Youth Debate Competition. I can show it to you."
"Rui Si? That’s quite a well-known law firm. Why did you two leave? I heard their pay isn’t bad." Zhang Yang gave her a strange look and asked.
"Well..." Liu Yingying glanced at Zhou Biyao, bit her lip, and finally gathered her courage to say, "It’s not a big deal to tell you..."
She had just opened her mouth when Zhou Biyao stopped her, looked at Zhang Yang, and said, "Since President Zhang is so sincere, we’ll accept it. When can we move in?"
"Anytime!"
"Thank you, President Zhang. Once our business improves, we’ll definitely pay the rent back." Zhou Biyao said earnestly.
"Alright." Zhang Yang was afraid that if he refused, they’d say he was trying to keep them again.
"Oh right, have you signed with our company yet?" Zhang Yang remembered how eager Liu Yingying looked that day. Judging by their situation, they seemed quite short on cash. Yet these past few days, there hadn’t been any movement from them.
"That..." Zhou Biyao bit her lip, looking hesitant, but Liu Yingying couldn’t stand it and took over, saying, "President Zhang, you don’t know. These past few days, a gang of thugs has been waiting for us downstairs every day. They were sent by that bastard just to stir up trouble. Every time we step out, they spray paint and smash locks, trying to stop us from running the firm."
"No wonder!" Zhang Yang suddenly realized the messy scene he saw when he came up earlier — someone was clearly sabotaging them.
"President Zhang, you should go quickly. If those thugs come back, you’ll get caught up in it too." Liu Yingying warned kindly.
Afraid of thugs? Zhang Yang couldn’t help but laugh in surprise. Instead, he looked at the two women and asked, "Aren’t you afraid?"
"Of course not. Sister Zhou has practiced karate, and I’ve learned long boxing. Besides, this is a busy district. What could they possibly do?"
"Then why don’t you call the police?"
"We did! But when the police come, they run. When the police leave, they come back. Even if they get caught, they just send another group. They have money — what can we do?"
Zhang Yang finally understood. These two beauties were probably being targeted by those thugs. Maybe they wanted to drag them back home as wives. Normally, he wouldn’t bother meddling, but once he heard the word ‘thugs,’ his eyes immediately saw them as system points.
After spending fifty points last night, he only had thirty-four left. It looked pitifully low. If he cleaned up a few thugs, maybe he could earn some points.
"How many thugs are there?"
"Seven or eight!" Liu Yingying pouted, looking frustrated. "So annoying!"
Seven or eight — Zhang Yang’s eyes lit up. "You said they come regularly? How long till they show up again?"
"Around four o’clock. President Zhang, if you leave now, you can just avoid them." Liu Yingying said anxiously.
"Heh… is that so? Nature calls, by the way — got a restroom here?" Zhang Yang checked the time. It was about right; they should be coming soon. His flight was at 7 p.m., so he still had time.
"Outside in the hallway, turn left!" Liu Yingying replied.
"Thanks!" Zhang Yang thanked her and pushed open the door, walking out of the office.
He didn’t go to the restroom. Instead, he went straight down the stairs. After descending two floors, he saw a group of seven or eight yellow-haired punks carrying steel pipes and paint buckets, even holding a banner as they stomped up noisily.
Looks like these are the guys.
The group saw Zhang Yang but didn’t think much of it. Just as they were about to walk past, the guy holding the steel pipe suddenly realized his pipe was gone!
"Huh? Where’s my steel pipe?" The punk with a tuft of yellow hair in the middle of his head looked at his empty hand, dumbfounded. What the hell?
"Hey, brother, isn’t this my dog-beating stick? How’d it end up here?"
The yellow-haired punk suddenly heard a voice beside him. Following the sound, he saw a handsome young man leaning casually against the stairwell, holding his steel pipe, pretending to examine it.
"Dog-beating stick?" The punk nearly exploded with rage. That was his signature weapon for fights, and this guy was calling it a dog-beating stick!
"You bastard, how the hell did my steel pipe end up in your hand?" the yellow-haired punk shouted angrily, striding toward Zhang Yang.
"Stop!"
Before he could get close, Zhang Yang’s steel pipe was already pressed against his nose. The punk almost ran face-first into it.
"The hell, do you know who I am?" the punk cursed, hands on hips, eyes wide open.
"Then do you know who I am?" Zhang Yang asked leisurely, weighing the pipe in his hand.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Who am I? Let me tell you — I built this staircase, I own this road, and if you wanna pass through here, leave your damn underwear behind!"
"You son of a bitch, are you messing with us? Get him, boys!" The punk finally realized this guy was here to cause trouble.

Inside the Biying Law Firm, Zhou Biyao and Liu Yingying suddenly heard clanging and shouting outside. After a while, the noise died down.
Zhou Biyao looked nervously at Liu Yingying and said, "Could it be those thugs again? By the way… where’s President Zhang? He’s been in the restroom for so long. Could he have run into them?"
"Yeah, the restroom’s right in the hallway."
The two beauties exchanged glances, hurriedly opened the door, and walked out. After just a few steps, they saw a man dusting himself off at the stairway, ready to leave.
Around his feet, seven or eight bruised and paint-smeared punks clung to the railings, lying on the floor howling in pain.
"We’ll never come again! We were wrong, sorry, forgive us!"
"We didn’t recognize how powerful you are! Please, spare us!"
The two women were dumbfounded. It had only been a short while — how did those thugs end up like this? And that hero over there… wasn’t that Zhang Yang, the one who just said he was going to the restroom?
"Oh right, I almost forgot." Liu Yingying slapped her forehead, covered her mouth, and whispered, "Sister Zhou, President Zhang can even beat assassins easily! I saw it with my own eyes that day."
Zhou Biyao bit her lip, looked at Zhang Yang, and was about to call out, but he didn’t even glance back and walked away slowly.
"Yingying, do you think Zhang Yang is trustworthy?" Staring at his back, Zhou Biyao hesitated and asked.
Liu Yingying bit her rosy lips, a faint dimple appearing on her cheek as she tilted her head. "He seems like a good guy. Didn’t you see him just now, saving the beauties like a hero?"
"Then… should we move over there?" Zhou Biyao asked, though it sounded more like she was asking herself.
"Let’s move! That way Cai Jinshui won’t bother you again, Sister Zhou!"
"Silly girl, who knows who he’ll end up bothering next."
