Chapter 230: Burning Werewolf
The Elite Wendigos were fearless. They did not hesitate and charged at Carter. An enemy that had killed many of their kinds.
He did not falter and accepted the challenge. The Werewolf rushed forward and slammed head on toward the Elite Wendigos.
A stupid strategy to say the least. But what good was a strategy for a Werewolf. The Werewolf knew no fear and fought only by its instinct.
The Elite Wendigos were not as strong as the Werewolf. Even without all their forces combined.
They scattered away like pin balls, slamming on the wall.
One fell near Carter and slashed at him. For the first time as John Collins, he felt pain.
The claw of the Wendigo went through his skin. Carter stomped its head to pieces.

It tore out a piece of meat from the side of his body. But that missing part was quickly regenerating. New flesh formed. New skin reached. New fur emerged.

'The Synchronization has finally risen... Self-healing. I understand now. The Werewolf is a durable being. To be more powerful, it needs to use its most powerful aspect.'
Another Elite Wendigo jumped at him from the back. He could have reacted to it. But he chose not to. He wanted to see how powerful this thing could be.
It bit into his shoulder. Its teeth went through his skin this time. There was pain.
And also pleasure.

The wound was closing when the Wendigo's teeth were still inside.
Carter elbowed the Wendigo without looking back, knocking its head backwards.
He then grabbed its head with both of his hands, slamming it down to the knee he had been chambered.
The head of the Wendigo rocked back so hard its neck cracked.
"More! More! Come at me!" The Werewolf howled.
It bit the neck off the Wendigo, killing it instantly.

The Wendigos crawled toward the ceiling and dropped down from above.
Carter smirked. He jumped up, slashing through the falling Wendigos. These Elite monsters were durable. Even more so than the Elite one that Carter met in the forest.
His claws couldn't slice them in two easier, only slashing off their flesh.
Carter caused quite a few to land heavily on the ground, missing their balance.
The few that weren't, grabbed on him and slashed him with their own claws.
The fight between the Wendigos and the Werewolf was bloody, dirty, and in no way pretty to witness. It was only pure bloodthirsty instinct.
But the Werewolf laughed through the pain.

Carter's wound kept healing and healing. His recover knew no boung. He spun in place, throwing the Wendigos on his body to the wall.
He grabbed one and put its face into his jaw, entirely, and crushed it like a juicy watermelon.
"More! More!" The deep voice of the Werewolf echoed.
One particular Wendigo. This one was a Major Elite. It didn't attack since the beginning and circled around Carter, looking for a good opportunity to strike.
It was smart and calculating.
Then, when Carter was distracted, it raised its hands. Its claw suddenly glowed a bright white light and it rushed at Carter, aiming at his chest.
The Werewolf was turning away from the Major Elite Wendigo.
Suddenlink, the Werewolf snapped its head toward the Wendigo.
Carter caught its hand and held it tightly. The Wendigo tried to pull away but it couldn't escape Carter's hands.
The Werewolf breathed and smiled in a sinister way. It pulled the glowing claws of the Wendigo into its chest.
Blood spilled out of Carter's snout, but he didn't stop smiling. That hurt. The glowing energy was something else he hadn't seen.
It could easily penetrate his skin. But from the look of it, even a Major Elite Wendigo couldn't use it that much.

"Is that all you got?!" The Werewolf laughed and screamed.
Then, its expression changed. A word spilled out of its mouth sounded so ancient, even the mindless Wendigo felt a certain sting to their skin.
"Rin!" The Werewolf screamed.
Its thick coat of fur exploded into fire. The large Werewolf had become a flaming werewolf, burning brightly in the cave.
This was the Sacred Word "Rin" Carter collected in Wild Earths. John Collins didn't know it. But the Host, himself, had this skill. So he could freely use it.
The Werewolf laughed manically. It turned into a flaming streak of fire and went through the horde of Elite Wendigos.
The flame melted off the thin layer of skin on the Wendigos, revealing their rotten bones beneath.
Rin wasn't just fire. It was also strength. The unimaginable strength of the Werewolf was enhanced even more than before.

Carter killed them all. He chased down every single one of them and crushed them to death, either by his hands or his jaw.
Then, when they began to feel fear and stopped hurting him. They were no longer any uses to Carter.
He killed them off without mercy. The ground was filled with burned flesh and bones. Dark smoke filled the dark cave, smelling of smoked meat.
Carter stood there, covered in his own blood and the enemy's blood.
He glanced toward the Synchronization of John Collins.

[The Skin is Elite Level. No Skin Stars gained]
[One aspect is ready to be retained]
[Acquired x2 Werewolf Tokens]
Carter smiled widely, revealing his sharp sharklike teeth.
'Self-harm for a skin full of self-recovery powers... Now that I know, raising John Collins's Synchronization will be a piece of cake...'
The Werewolf slowly shrank. White smoke came out of him. All of his injuries disappeared. The white energy from before was also completely consumed by the Werewolf's internal biology.
For John Collins, turning into a Werewolf was a process. A total change in biological and metaphysical aspect.
Turning back into a human was a cleanse. All wounds, all status effects, all foreign energy was pushed out, returning the tame skinny nerd with round glasses.
Carter reached his hand in the air. The Ghost Clothes materialized a pair of glasses.
He put them back on. The glasses reflected what little light there was in the cave.
