Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight

Chapter 94: Burning Facility

Carter squatted down and placed his bony hand on a corpse. A progress bar appeared upon the corpse.

With all these bodies, he didn’t need to dig them up no more. But he was still required to wait for the Skin System to turn them into shards.

’This is going to take awhile...’

He spent the entire night turning the corpses into Human shards. The only thing held him back was the conversion speed of the System.

[+968 Minor Human Shards (Mortal)]

[+412 Medium Human Shards (Mortal)]

**`[+378 Major Human Shards (Mortal)]

’Well, sheesh. This should be enough for me to make an Elite Human Skin.’

Carter got out of there as soon as the sun was beginning to rise. He carefully walked through the burning facility. The workers within the factory were deep in their sleepiness at this moment so it was much easier for him.

His feet froze as he saw a particular hallway leading deeper into the ground. The hallway was too technological advanced compared to the state of this world. The walls and ceiling were made of some cyan metal with bright white lines running on it.

Carter recognized it. It was technology coming from Cyber Runner.

"How is it here?" Carter approached the hallway.

[SYSTEM GHOST EQUIPPED]

The faceless man returned. Carter placed his hand on the hallway and tried to hack it.

’It does belong to Cyber Runner...’

The firewall of this system was stronger than this world. It was on par with an Awaken System and was even more powerful than the Cyber Core.

Carter spent quite a few times to find his way into the core of this system. He saw a large red crystal in his vision.

The crystal booted him out of the system. For the first time ever, his hacking was blocked.

’This thing is powerful. It is guarding something. I am confident that System Ghost can hack it given enough time. But I don’t need to do that.’

Hacking was the easiest when the hacker could access the hardware. Carter intended to go straight to that red crystal and plucked it out.

[ELDRITCH SKELETON KNIGHT EQUIPPED]

The skeleton and his purple cloak returned once more.

Carter stepped onto the metal hallway. Immediately, gatling guns dropped down from the ceiling and aimed toward him.

At the same time, Atsuo was alarmed. The President sat up on his bed and grabbed his phone.

The live feed of the Skeleton Knight showed up in his phone.

"What is this thing?" Atsuo frowned.

The gatlings started to spin. Bullets screamed toward the skeleton like lightning bolt.

Carter raised up his arm. A shield appeared in front of him and blocked all the bullets.

His power reinforced the shield and allowed it to block the devastating bullets. If it was an ordinary shield, it would have become a sponge full of holes.

The gatlings ran out of bullets eventually. A whip materialized in Carter’s other hand.

He snapped it toward the gatling guns and destroyed them. Each swing would turn a heavy gun into scrap metals.

"Huh... Puny weapons."

Carter’s mind had already inserted into the role of the Skeleton Knight. He marched forward.

The hallway was too long. The pulse of the white lights could cause anyone to have a headache.

The walls opened up. Mechanical humanoid creatures walked out.

’No... These aren’t robots. They’re cyborgs.’

The green flames within the skeleton’s eye sockets flickered gently.

The creatures in front of him had their flesh mixed with metal and machine. But they weren’t alive. Their heads were replaced by a mechanical processing head.

’The corpses... I didn’t see any actual burning the entire night. They aren’t burning the corpses. They are turning them into cyborgs. Undead Cyborgs.’

The Cyborgs rushed at Carter. The whip and shield disappeared. The black scythe replaced their place.

Carter swiped over the cyborg, decapitating it with the scythe.

It was already dead so Carter didn’t gain any Necron Force from it.

Another cyborg activated its special attack. Its metal head split open and a cannon aimed directly at Carter.

A thick red laser beam shot out and hit the purple cloak. It didn’t penetrate the cloak. Smoke lingered gently from the point of contact.

The skeleton turned over. It was smiling.

The scythe turned into a whip and snapped toward that cyborg. Carter pulled it closer to him.

The whip transformed into a large butcher knife as Carter slammed it downward, splitting the Undead Cyborg in half.

’These aren’t living beings. So I can’t gain Necron Force by giving out death. But I wonder if they already have Necron Force within them.’

Carter reached his skeletal finger toward the split Cyborg. He felt it. The energy of the Undead was there. The power of the Necron Force.

Green energy leaked out from the body and into the skeleton.

’Yes... More Necron Force. More power.’

The skeleton smiled deviously.

Atsuo summoned the military, what rest of it, and directed them over to the burning facility.

Armored convoys and bullet-proof trucks surrounded the burning facility.

"Plant these bombs in these positions." Atsuo ordered an Explosive Specialist.

"Why are we doing this, Mr. President?" The Specialist asked.

"The thing that attacking the facility might be a Terror. The sun is coming up. Blow the entire place away so it has nowhere to hide."

"Oh?"

The Specialist admired the intelligence and ruthlessness of Atsuo.

Inside, Carter had slaughtered his way through countless of Undead Cyborgs. They were very weak, none reached Medium Awaken.

And he entered the mainframe of this entire facility.

There was one final thing that waited for him there.

The red crystal pulsed ominously. A robot stood between Carter and the red core. Its entire metal body had a sleek black color with a humanoid head.

It lifted his head up and saw the skeleton.

"Total Bastion?" The robot said something that Carter didn’t understand. Its joints let out sharp metal noise and it moved. "Didn’t expect to see one of you out here. Why are you attacking our territory?"

’Hmm. I just learned a lot from that.’

The Skeleton did not answer the question. It did, however, spoke.

"Wanderer... Unbound."
