Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight

Chapter 83: More Primers

Carter found himself back to on the luxurious interdimensional train. The train was as empty as usual and the bar didn’t have even one silhouette inside it.

"Welcome back, sir. How was your trip?" The projection from before greeted Carter.

"It was very fruitful." Carter nodded. "Prepare the usual room for me."

"Of course, Paradox." The projection left.

’Hmm.’ Carter watched as the projection left. ’Why does they keep referring to me as Paradox? Is it because of the Skin System?.’

The Paradoxes. The seventh pillar of Prime World. Each Paradox had the power to defeat an entire army of the highest power in Prime World.

Carter was obviously not a Paradox. But the projection might mistake him because of the effect of the Skin System.

’It isn’t a bad thing to be honest. I can use this as a negotiation card later if I want to.’

The train left Corrupted Corps. That night, a few smugglers swore that they saw a train running on the sky. Most thought they were crazy or their eyes were covered by evil spirits.

For those that traveled the worlds, they should know that it was the one and only Prime Train.

The Prime Train entered the space between worlds. The timeless, endless space where nothing existed. There were no earth nor sky, only an endless colorful space.

Carter spent the time on the train to unwind himself. He didn’t think much about the future, didn’t plan ahead, and didn’t put himself in the shoes of a character. For a short amount of time, he was himself.

The train was silent for most of the time.

’One would have thought this place would be much more crowded considering how many Primers are there.’

Carter lay in the bathtub and checked his Shard List.

’And there is also my Skin List.’

’Surely with this many Human Shards, I can make an Elite out of it.’

The Skin Forge appeared again. Carter started from the bottom.

[Forged x120 Minor Human Shards (Mortal)]

[Acquired x12 Minor Human (Mortal)]

Then Carter fired up the Skin Fusion.

[Fused x12 Minor Human (Mortal)]

[Acquired x4 Medium Human (Mortal)]

’And now the Medium Shards.’

[Forged x470 Medium Human Shards]

[Acquired x47 Medium Human (Mortal)]

[Fused x51 Medium Human (Mortal)]

[Acquired x17 Major Human (Mortal)]

’And finally the Major Shards.’

[Forged x80 Major Human Shards (Mortal)]

[Acquired x8 Major Human (Mortal)]

[Fuses x27 Major Human (Mortal)]

[Acquired x1 Major Human (Awaken)]

’Nope. It is still not enough... I need at least 27 Major Human Skins. That would be at least 2430 Minor Mortal Human Shards.’

Carter suddenly felt like he didn’t rob enough graves. He sighed deeply.

’Can’t help it. It should be difficult getting an Elite. I should keep grave robbing when I return to Terrorstate.’

Carter rewarded himself with a goodnight sleep in the Prime Train. Because there was no road, the train was gentle and had a sweet rhythm to it. There was only silence.

Then there were noises. A lot of noises.

Carter was still asleep when it happened. He woke up with a frown on his face.

"What the hell happened?"

The digital interface of the train replied, "Please accept our apology, Paradox. There are a few guests on board. The Mute Function is available in your room and will block all outside noises."

’Guests, huh? They’re probably Primers. I’ve never seen other Primers outside of Cyber Runner. I am curious what they are like.’

Carter adjusted himself. He was currently wearing his own skin, the skin with his name.

[DRACULA EQUIPPED]

The pale man returned with his top hat and well-tailored suit. The vampire walked out of the room.

There were quite a few people in there. At least 20 Primers. Each Primer had tactical clothes and battle gear on them.

’These Primers are so weak. Most are new Awaken. The strongest one is only a 2 STAR. But maybe I can learn something from them.’

The Primers froze as they saw Carter walked in. A man that looked out of place in this futuristic train. He held a cane with a wooden crow head. A black top hat on his head. And a perfectly fitted suit with the inner fabric made of bright red.

He was a pure gentleman of class and grace, a contrast of the Primers in the lounge.

Carter didn’t need to start a conversation because their attentions were already directed toward him. He walked gracefully and sat at the bar.

"Red wine."

"Coming right up, sir!" The projection said.

The strongest Primer sat down beside Carter. He scanned the pale man up and down.

"What are you? Some kind of ancient aristocrat?"

Carter turned toward the Primer. He smiled.

"A gentleman should always introduce himself before asking questions."

The Primer raised his lips in disdain, "Who do you think you are? Do you believe that I’m going to beat the crap out of that pretty face of yours?"

The Primer had very short temper. Nothing happened and he was already prepared to cause unnecessary conflict.

Another Primer pulled him back, "Don’t cause trouble here. We would be banned."

"You’re lucky this time, old man."

Carter squinted his eyes, "Alfred."

"Yes, sir?" The projection behind the bar counter said.

"Isn’t there an arena within the Prime Train?"
