Married for four years, Wren Sutton deeply loved her husband, Adrian Lancaster.
    In the end, what she got in return was a cold, cruel reality: her husband's heart belonged to another woman. The favoritism and indulgence he showed that woman were things she had never received.

    Hearing the man's trembling, pleading voice, Wren Sutton raised her hand to smooth his anxious brow. Her hatred dissipated, replaced by a calm acceptance.
    “Adrian Lancaster, we're divorced.”
    Adrian Lancaster's defenses crumbled. “Those divorce papers don't count.”
    Wren Sutton: “You signed them yourself.”
    Adrian Lancaster: “The child doesn't agree.”
