Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 1224 - 1223, Stranger from the Tribe

"Brother Xiu Yan, what’s going on outside?" Ji Nuan walked up to him directly as she saw Xiu Yan standing there.

"Seems like orcs from another tribe." Xiu Yan furrowed his dark brows slightly.

When it came to lively commotions, Ji Nuan was generally interested. But since this wasn’t the Watson Tribe, she reconsidered and gave up the idea of going out to take a look. After all, if anything important happened, she trusted the elder Shaman and Chief Hasa to come and inform them.

"You should get some rest. Isn’t there another orc coming for treatment this afternoon?" Xiu Yan took Ji Nuan’s hand and led her into the inner room. Lately, Nuannuan had been treating two orcs a day. Even though it was mostly cases of fractures and dislocations, the workload was still not light.

Seeing his mate working so hard, Xiu Yan felt distressed for her. Every day, he would prepare different delicious meals to make her happy.

He used a cotton cloth to clean Ji Nuan’s face and hands. After seeing her lie down on the kang, Xiu Yan smiled and gently patted her head. "Rest well. When the orc arrives this afternoon, I’ll guide you."

Ji Nuan was indeed quite tired. She nuzzled her cheek against Xiu Yan’s large hand before falling asleep peacefully.

Watching her drift off, Xiu Yan also took off his beast-skin shoes and sat on the kang.

He pulled a small table closer from the foot of the kang and took out a little notebook Ji Nuan had previously written for him, beginning to practice his writing.

The cave they were in was quiet and cozy. However, over in the elder Shaman’s cave, the situation was far tenser.

At that moment, a middle-aged orc lay on the Shaman’s beast-skin mat, appearing extremely haggard and covered in bloodstains.

In the cave, there was also a bundle of firewood, and the elder Shaman instructed the orcs at his side to light the firepit.

Only after the fire was lit did the Shaman carefully remove the beast skin from the orc’s body. Due to the long journey, the blood on the orc had already stuck to the beast skin.

As the Shaman peeled it off, the orc groaned in pain, his face gradually turning deathly pale.

"Elder Shaman, will my father be okay?" Seeing the orc’s pained expression, another younger orc, equally disheveled, hurriedly stepped forward to ask.

The elder Shaman shook his head and said, "I can’t say for certain yet. His wounds have fused with the beast skin. I’ll only know once I examine them thoroughly."

It took the Shaman half a day just to remove the beast skin from the middle-aged orc.

As they looked at the numerous wounds covering his body, both the Shaman and Hasa inhaled sharply. "Did you run into a pack of desert wolves?"

The younger orc’s eyes reddened. He nodded with a choked voice. "We were tracking a group of Firebirds, but before we could reach the oasis where they were, a blizzard started. If it weren’t for our double-humped camels, we probably..."

"...barely managed to find a small oasis to rest, only to encounter a pack of desert wolves. And it wasn’t just any pack—it was a massive one. We lost many tribesmen just to escape."

"We got lost in the blizzard and, in the end, it was those double-humped camels that led us here. One of our uncles had been to the Sahara Tribe before, so we came here. Otherwise, none of us would’ve survived."

The elder Shaman and Hasa sighed deeply. Even without venturing too far during their hunts, they had encountered ravenous packs of desert wolves.

For the Mogor Tribe to have traveled so far, relying on their double-humped camels, they must not have anticipated running into a blizzard.
