Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 1203 - 1202: The Duties of a Shaman

He got up and walked to the cave where food was stored. Opening a small crack to look outside, he saw that the sky had already darkened. Surprisingly, it had taken so long for Awa’s leg injury to be treated.

After returning to the kitchen and eating a little something, Awa lay down some distance away from Ada.

It had been a long time since he had felt this comfortable.

While things were peaceful and beautiful on Ji Nuan’s side, Harry was far from enjoying similar fortune.

Tuya had fallen ill. The young female’s body was too frail; by last night, she had developed a fever, and they didn’t have any herbs to treat her.

They had no choice but to venture to the old Shaman’s cave late at night. The old Shaman gave them some backup herbs and explained to Harry how to use them.

Following the old Shaman’s instructions, they had Tuya ingest the herbs.

Norz transformed into his beast form and used his enormous, warm body to wrap Tuya up. After sleeping through the night, her health had gradually improved.

But her body remained weak, and transforming into a beast took a great toll on energy—Norz needed to eat even more now.

Lying on the beast skin mat, Harry realized something deeply troubling concerning Tuya’s illness.

As a Shaman out on his trial journey, he had reached the point where he couldn’t even heal his tribe members effectively anymore.

Ever since the sandstorm had scattered his herbs, it seemed like he was a Shaman in name only. He had not fulfilled his duties as a healer but had become increasingly indistinguishable from an ordinary Orc.

With this weighing heavily on his mind, he could no longer sleep. Rolling over, he sat up and leaned against the cave wall, gazing at the large stone blocking the doorway.

A gleam of determination flickered in his eyes.

"Still not asleep?" A gravelly voice sounded beside him, carrying a charge like a faint current of electricity, making Harry’s heart shudder slightly.

He couldn’t resist rubbing his ear and turning to look at the Orc sitting against the cave wall to his right. Though this guy wasn’t much to look at, his voice was exceptionally captivating.

Realizing his gaze might be too overt, Harry cleared his throat softly. "Just thinking about something."

Casa’s eyes flickered briefly. "Get some sleep early."

Then he turned his back on Harry and lay down. Just moments ago, Harry’s gaze at him had been like a female Orc admiring a beloved male Orc, making Casa’s hairs stand on end.

"Starting tomorrow, during the day, I’ll go to the old Shaman’s cave to study desert herbs. At night, I’ll return here," the young Orc said, deliberately lowering his voice, adding a rare trace of gentleness.

Casa, who had just closed his eyes, instantly opened them again. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "I’ll take you there and pick you up at night."

Harry didn’t dispute this further. As his Guardian Orc, this was Casa’s duty.

The sky gradually brightened, and a faint haze of light seeped through the cracks in the large stone. Harry sat up from the beast skin mat.

Casa was already seated against the wall, with his head bowed, seemingly lost in thought.

Norz pulled the little female in his arms closer to his soft belly to block out the chilly wind that seeped through the cracks in the stones.

Harry walked to the cave entrance and took a piece of meat out of the basket Ji Nuan had given them. He extended his claws and effortlessly divided it into four portions.

After handing portions to Casa and Norz, he wrapped Tuya’s share in long leaves and passed it to Norz.

The Orc dragged the meat wrapped in long leaves into his arms and warmed it with his body heat.

At that moment, Harry began walking toward the edge of the cave, and Casa stood up to follow him.
