Chapter 1181 - 1180: Sharpening Claws
Suddenly, a large hand with distinct knuckles stretched over from the side, sharp claws exposed between its fingers, effortlessly smoothing out the indentation Ji Nuan had left on the stone wall.
Looking at the pair of strikingly attractive hands, Ji Nuan gritted her teeth and turned to glare at the Orc behind her...
But...
The Orc was so tall that she could only see his broad, muscular chest.
"Your little claws just need regular practice, no need to worry about anything else—I’ve got it covered."
Orcs are truly exasperating, even giving sweet words to a certain female when she’s angry. But...
That certain little female still fell for it, gave a sulky hum, and decided to let it slide.
It had to be said, the strength in numbers wasn’t just talk—several caves were fully completed after the evening meal.
Even the walls inside the caves had been polished smooth, making Ji Nuan exceptionally pleased.
Before leaving, she gifted five Wolf Beasts to each of the two Hunting Squads from the Sahara Tribe as a token of gratitude.
Ji Nuan’s generosity left the Orcs of both teams utterly astonished.
When the middle-aged Orc and his tribesmen departed, carrying the five Wolf Beasts, their dazed expressions still lingered, filled with disbelief.
They had merely dug a few caves but received food they could barely dream of.
Once back at their Tribe, seeing such a bountiful supply of food, the Orcs of the small Tribe erupted in cheers, their joy overwhelming—they never imagined their Tribe could have such an abundant day.
Looking at the now empty caves, Ji Nuan spread out her arms and took a few deep breaths, exclaiming, "It’s so nice to have my own cave."
After a simple meal, Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan set up a tent inside the cave, finally satisfied as they fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Maomao and her several partners also slept soundly in the cave at the farthest edge—a separate space that Xiu Yan had personally excavated for them.
The space was considerable, with the front area suitable for living and the back designated for food storage.
The next morning, Xiu Yan began repairing their cave. They had discovered sticky yellow clay near the lake, and Ji Nuan planned to use it to make mud bricks for constructing a heated bed.
Unfortunately, once dried, this yellow clay wasn’t as smooth and fine as the Tribe’s cyan clay—it remained somewhat coarse and couldn’t be used to build a bathtub.
Thus, Ji Nuan realized that for this cold season, she’d still have to use her previous bath barrel, even though it was always cumbersome to haul water back and forth.
The task of firing bricks was left to Xiu Yan, while Ji Nuan stood to the side talking with the middle-aged Orc.
"I currently need a large quantity of firewood and food edible for the Twin Peaks Beasts. If your Tribesmen can gather or forage for these items, feel free to bring them to me in exchange for food."
The middle-aged Orc silently wished he could clean out his ears—he could hardly believe such good fortune had befallen his Tribe.
Twin Peaks Beasts were relatively easy to raise. They would eat almost any plant from the Tribe, especially the water-rich, fleshy thorn fruits which served as their staple food.
If their Tribesmen were willing to look for these, trading thorn fruits for food would surely be far simpler than hunting.
As for firewood...
The middle-aged Orc noted that this was even easier.
In the oasis, each Tribe was also responsible for an important task within their own territory—regularly clearing out unusable dry branches to prevent the risk of igniting a destructive Fire Seed.
