Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 831 - 830: Dubi’s Despair

"Mud Pit? Has Ola gone mad?" Otto growled, eyes filled with shock.

Dubi’s large frame trembled upon hearing this; without a word, he turned and ran toward the tribe.

The Mud Pit, that place might be a punishment for the tribe’s Orcs, but for females who could not transform into beast form, it was certainly death.

Both his mate and cub were females; Ola was putting his own family in mortal danger.

The Mud Pit was a huge cave, filled with flesh-eating black mud, into which no creature thrown could escape, except for the Armored Crocodile Orcs adept at moving in the black mud.

Let alone a female and a small female cub.

"Why throw us into the Mud Pit? I want to see the Clan Leader. I am a female, my cub is so little, you can’t do this," the female voice sounded utterly desperate. The tribe members hiding in the cave watched the scene but didn’t dare to intervene.

The Hunting Team in the tribe had been taken out by another evolved Orc, leaving behind only females, old Orcs, and those loyal to the Clan Leader.

Tears streamed down the female’s face as she begged the two Orcs beside her to spare her cub, but the two Orcs emotionlessly pushed them toward the death-infused Mud Pit.

The little cub still held half of a Gagabeast egg in his hands, his round eyes shifting as he nibbled on the tasty food in his hand, completely unaware that he was stepping closer to death with each move.

The two Orcs did not stop their steps, leading them to the outside of the Mud Pit, their voices colder than the ice and snow of the winter season, "Get in."

...

Dubi hurriedly rushed back home to find the messy grass nest and the casually discarded Beast Skin bag, which told him that his mate and his cub had already been taken away.

Hardly had Otto and his companion reached Dubi’s home when they saw the Orc running out of the cave like a madman, dashing deeper into the tribe.

There lied the Mud Pit, where the tribe’s "Guinea Beasts" were punished.

Night breezes blew, but as Dubi arrived near the Mud Pit, it felt as though a massive hole had been gouged in his chest, the bone-chilling wind whooshing in.

At the entrance of the Mud Pit, the ground bore signs of struggle. Kneeling, Dubi tremblingly reached out, gingerly as if searching for a fragile treasure, and picked up half of the mud-covered Gagabeast egg from a corner.

He cradled it as tenderly as he had cradled his cub not long ago, gently dusting the dirt off the Gagabeast egg, the tiny teeth marks clearly visible.

He could almost see his frail cub carefully holding the half Gagabeast egg, nibbling on it bit by bit, his round eyes contentedly looking up at him, his tiny pink mouth opening, crying out something to him in "aw-aw."

Dubi’s mind went blank, his ears ringing, unable to think, not daring to think.

After catching up, Otto and his companion saw Dubi, his face pale, eyes wide open, kneeling on the ground before the Mud Pit, carefully cradling half of a grey-white object, unmoving.

The two Orcs exchanged glances, a bad feeling spreading through their hearts.

"Dubi," Otto stepped forward, softly calling the Orc’s name, but the Orc showed no response.

"Dubi, your mate and cub..."
