Chapter 830 - 829: What Beast Is She?
Dubi sat down beside Otto and nodded, "Hmm, as soon as I returned, I heard the Clan Leader had assigned you here. Why is that?"
Otto gave a bitter smile, "What else could it be? I wanted to lead our tribesmen to rescue you, but Ola wouldn’t allow it. Without the news of brick-making, and not bringing back Xiu Yan and Ya Li, she was unwilling."
The large hands resting on Dubi’s knees instantly clenched tight, veins bulging on his arms, "So, she thinks I was as good as dead?"
Otto put the remaining Gagabeast in his hand aside, looking at the towering Orc beside him, "You know what kind of beast Ola is."
The corner of Dubi’s mouth curled into a sarcastic smile as he looked at Otto, "Now you see what kind of beast she is. When you gave up the position of Clan Leader to her and supported her with all your might, you didn’t know? What’s the use of talking about it now?"
His friend’s sarcasm left Otto filled with bitterness, "I had no choice, if it wasn’t me as Clan Leader, it could only be Ola..."
"Could only be?" Dubi scoffed lightly, "There are many, many Orcs capable of being the Clan Leader. Never has any Tribe’s Chief had to be the offspring of the former Chief. Have you turned the Tribe into your own prey?"
Otto’s face turned instantly pale, his lips trembling, unable to utter a word.
After a long moment, he raised his hands to cover his face, the choked sobs slipping through his fingers, "I was wrong; I misunderstood the words of my father on his deathbed. It was all my fault."
Seeing his deeply regretful demeanor, Dubi breathed out softly, "Tell me, what do you want from me?"
Otto turned away to wipe his face, and when he turned back, his reddened eyes revealed that he had just been crying, "Do you know Namila of the Nacha Tribe?"
Dubi nodded, "I know. Isn’t that female currently in the Clan Leader’s cave?"
Otto’s eyes narrowed slightly, his expression turning cold, "That female is no good beast. She keeps stirring up misunderstandings between Ola and the tribesmen and is always inciting Ola to send strong Orcs of the Tribe out on very dangerous tasks."
"I don’t know what she ultimately wants to do."
Dubi furrowed his brow, "What does that have to do with me?"
Otto sighed, "If you hadn’t returned, it might be alright, but now that you’re back, that female called Namila will surely say something to Ola, and I fear she will always find a way to deal with you."
"Now Ola won’t listen to us, always thinking I’m trying to wrest the Clan Leader position from her. Right now, I..."
At that, he shook his head helplessly.
"What should I do?" Dubi’s mind was also in turmoil at this moment.
"You should..." Before Otto could finish, an anxious Orc’s voice came from afar, growing closer.
The two stood up, alert and looking towards the direction of the sound.
Slowly, a familiar figure appeared within their view.
"It’s him!" The guard who had held him back earlier that day.
As if familiar with the Orc, Otto saw the urgency in his demeanor and felt a nagging unease, "What happened?"
The Guard didn’t dawdle, turning to look at Dubi, "After you left, the Clan Leader sent Orcs to look for you. When it was discovered you had come here with Otto, they took your family to the mud pit."
