Chapter 809 - 808: The Sick Little Cub
As he reached the courtyard gate, he encountered Xiu Yan holding a gigantic Green Bull Beast in his hands.
Seeing Ji Nuan’s hurried manner, the aloof Orc furrowed his brow, "What happened?"
Ji Nuan said anxiously, "A little female cub is sick, she’s developed a full body of red rashes and also has a fever. I’m on my way to check on her now."
Xiu Yan threw the giant Green Bull Beast he had been shouldering onto the ground of the courtyard, brushed the dust off his clothes with his hand, and quickly followed behind Ji Nuan, "I’ll come with you."
Ji Nuan nodded, and the three hurried toward the sick little female cub’s home.
There were not many little female cubs in the Tribe, and when Ji Nuan arrived at the cub’s home, the Orc pacing anxiously at the entrance nearly burst into tears but quickly led Ji Nuan and the others into the little room where the cub lived.
The cub’s mother, Amu, was inside accompanying the sick cub, her eyes bloodshot, clearly showing she had been crying.
Ji Nuan quickly sat down by the kang bed, turning to look at the teary-eyed female, "How did the little one get sick?"
The female sobbed, "Yesterday, the cub just kept complaining of feeling unwell, but we saw that it was just some red bumps on her arms and legs. They were so small we thought they were just bug bites, so we didn’t pay much attention."
Speaking, she looked toward the suffering cub on the bed, her eyes reddening further, "But this morning, she wouldn’t wake up, her whole body covered in those little red bumps, and she had a fever. We were so worried."
Ji Nuan comforted her, "Don’t worry, let me see what’s going on first."
On the kang padded with a soft Beast Skin quilt lay a chubby little female cub. The little one’s exposed arms, legs, neck, and even her tiny round face were covered in patches of little red rashes, looking quite alarming. Ji Nuan unbuttoned the cub’s clothes to find her plump little body also covered with densely packed little red rashes.
Ji Nuan looked at the weeping female, "Did the little female cub go out to play yesterday?"
The female nodded, "Yes, she went out with her brothers to herd their Gagabeasts and ran around all day without even eating lunch."
Ji Nuan nodded, "The little one got this from running around and playing outside yesterday, sweating profusely and then catching a draft. If she had been seen yesterday, she wouldn’t have gotten a fever."
The female wiped her tears with self-reproach, "Yesterday, the cub’s father said we should go find you to take a look, but I thought it was nothing serious so I didn’t let him go, and now... wu wu wu~"
With that, she started crying again.
Ji Nuan quickly consoled her softly, "Don’t worry, the little one is going to be fine. I’m going back now to prepare some herbal medicine. Wrap the cub up tightly in a Beast Skin blanket and bring her to my home, and make sure she doesn’t catch any wind."
The female and the Orc nodded again and again, "Alright, we’ll get ready right away."
The Orc stepped forward to hug his partner, "I’ll take the cub over, you look after the other little ones."
Upon hearing this, the female remembered her several other little ones. Looking at the three well-behaved children sitting obediently at the door, her heart melted, and she nodded, "Okay, then you go, and come back to tell me when there’s news."
The Orc nodded, took out a Beast Skin blanket, and wrapped up the little female cub carefully, then followed Ji Nuan and the others back to Ji Nuan’s house.
