Chapter 802 - 801, Digging a Cellar
The orc’s face turned ashen as he walked out of the cave, but he spotted the Shaman standing outside smirking with mockery.
Seeing the ugly expression on the orc’s face, the Shaman sneered, "You insisted on supporting this female as the Clan Leader at that time, how about now? Even if she is the only offspring of the late Clan Leader who had gone to meet the Beast God, can she really shoulder the responsibility of a Clan Leader when she disregards the lives of her own people?"
With that said, he didn’t look at the orc again and turned to walk away.
The orc stood in place for a long time until his legs began to numb, then he chuckled bitterly and quickly walked outside.
Once again outside the walls of the Watson Tribe, the orc revealed his claws attempting to break through the wall blocking the entrance with his sharp claws. However, the shrill sound produced as his claws scraped the dark material of the wall alarmed the orcs patrolling atop it. A stern shout came from above, "Who is there!"
The orc was startled and immediately dove underwater; now he truly understood that this wall could not be breached merely with their claws.
Thinking about how he had advised his people to stay calm in the Watson Tribe the previous day to steal the method of making green bricks, and how he had pleaded with the Clan Leader to allow him to return to the tribe, but now they had been cut off from contact.
Despite his anxiety, the helpless orc could only shake his head in disappointment and head back to his own tribe. Meanwhile, Ji Nuan eyed the ginger stored in the public storage room, gritted her teeth, and decided she would have to dig a cellar for this hard-won ginger.
She went to the construction site to inquire about the progress, learning that only two more courtyards were needed to complete the construction, she finally felt relieved and casually requested the orc responsible for firing the green bricks to make some extra.
At dinner time, sitting in the kitchen, Ji Nuan looked smilily at Xiu Yan, "I’ve thought of a method to preserve food, if you’re not hunting tomorrow, help me dig a cellar in the yard."
Xiu Yan looked at her puzzledly, "What is a cellar."
Ji Nuan mysteriously hooked her finger and winked mysteriously, "You’ll find out tomorrow."
Because they needed green bricks, digging the cellar was postponed until after tomorrow’s lunch. Once the orcs knew that Shaman Ji Nuan needed the bricks to build a new food storage site, they prioritized transporting a batch to Ji Nuan’s yard. Xiu Yan, Ya Li, and several members of the Guard Team were drafted by Ji Nuan for labor, each of them snorting as they dug out a cellar of about fifty square meters in the yard.
They then used green bricks to neatly line the walls of the cellar. The orc’s speed was unmatched, and with their great physical strength, it took them less than an afternoon to construct a sizable cellar.
Looking at the neatly arranged vegetables and ginger brought back from the Lamu Forest in the cellar, Ji Nuan smiled contentedly.
She patted Xiu Yan and Ya Li on the shoulders, "Great! I’ll cook tonight and treat you all to a good meal."
Upon hearing that Ji Nuan, who had invented another great device, would personally cook for them, the Watson Tribe orcs were overjoyed and just smiled gleefully.
Meanwhile, Xiu Yan stood aside with a sullen face, glaring severely at a few orcs who looked foolishly delighted, his gaze at Ji Nuan carrying an inexplicable hint of grievance.
