Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 671 - 670, Amazing_1

His deep eyes watched Ji Nuan for a while. Xiu Yan hugged Ji Nuan to him, "We’re going together."

Ji Nuan looked at the orc in front of her... She pursed her lips at his determined jaw, "I wouldn’t sneak in on my own, I’m still a little scared."

Yet, Xiu Yan, with his deep yet doubtful eyes, kept her in his arms and walked towards the forest.

Ji Nuan rolled her eyes, "What about the basic trust between beasts?"

Xiu Yan looked at her humorously, "You’ve eroded it."

Ji Nuan: "..."

You’re so cheeky, I don’t even know how to respond.

The two beasts hunted several prey and had a lovely meal of roast meat.

Xiu Yan set up the tent, "Let’s rest now, we will continue the experiment tomorrow."

Ji Nuan nodded. Indeed, the swamp in the distance was pitch black, and she could only hear the croaking of frogs and the singing of some insects.

She crawled into the tent, lay on the soft beast skin pad, and fell asleep with her eyes closed. As long as Xiu Yan was by her side, she always felt secure.

Meanwhile, in the Land of Death.

The Gru Tribe Orcs halted their progress and sat back to back in a safe place.

"Everyone take turns keeping watch, and be careful not to wander out," warned the Cat Orc, waving his claw.

The other orcs nodded, increasingly admiring the weak orc shaman. None of them had died so far in the Land of Death due to the shaman’s suggestion to use sticks to probe the way ahead. So, admiration for the shaman grew among the orcs.

That night, the hopeful Gru Orcs and the indignant Nacha Tribe fell into a restless sleep.

Only Ji Nuan, under Xiu Yan’s protection, was snoring sweetly like a Humming Beast.

The morning chirping of birds and insects woke up the creatures and the orcs in the swamp. After eating some leftover meat from their packs, the Gru Tribesmen continued on their journey through the Land of Death.

Meanwhile, Nakula, who was waiting at the exit of the Kunteng Mountain Forest, looked even more sullen.

Here, Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan ate breakfast after washing up, then, lugging the game that had been starving all night, they came to the edge of the swamp.

Following Ji Nuan’s lead, Xiu Yan cut a tree down and made several large wooden boards. They took the boards and game and spent a while looking for a mud pit closest to the edge of the swamp.

They bound their catch tightly to the boards and Ji Nuan pushed them into the mud pit with a thick wooden stick, but the boards remained still and showed no sign of sinking.

Ji Nuan raised an eyebrow, looking rather smug, "See, it isn’t going to sink."

Xiu Yan smiled at her, "You better not attempt it either."

Ji Nuan glares back, instantly puffing up like a pufferfish.

"Quack quack~" A Gagabeast’s cry rang out. Following the sound, they saw a Gagabeast waddling out of the dense reeds, followed by a string of fluffy little Gagabeasts. The little ones mimicked their mother’s calls with immature voices, their bodies wobbling about adorably.

Unafraid of Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan, the Gagabeast waddled its plump bottom and led its cubs into the reeds on the other side.

Ji Nuan drooled as she watched the reeds, "There must be a lot of Gagabeast eggs in there."
