Chapter 640 - 639, Choice_1
"We, the Watson Tribe, will take the last Beast God Fruit," Ji Nuan declared as she rose from her beast-skin cushion. She delicately reached into her sleeve and pulled out a petite, exquisite porcelain bottle, passing it to Elder Mu Qing. "Anything extra can be given to Mu Chun and the other Divine Wood Tree folks."
With joy, Elder Mu Qing accepted the little porcelain bottle. The sight of his care astonished the Orcs from the various other tribes present. They had exchanged many items just to receive one, perhaps two, Beast God Fruits. Yet the Watson Tribe appeared to get so many merely for a small bottle?
Upon hearing Ji Nuan’s words, Mu Chun and the other Divine Wood Tree folks behind him grinned broadly, their white teeth gleaming.
Heaven knew, just the day before Elder Mu Qing had proudly displayed an identical bottle, claiming it contained new healing pills made by Shaman Ji Nuan, superior to healing potions. The smug expression on his face couldn’t be more inviting of a punch.
Now, they all would have their own bottles. How could they not be ecstatic about this?
"Haha, thanks a lot, Shaman Ji Nuan! I’ll hold onto the pills, then distribute them when we return to the tribe." Saying so, he immediately stuffed it into his beast skin bag.
Seeing Elder Mu Qing’s shameless behavior, the Divine Wood Tree folks felt a mix of envy and admiration.
"Now that the exchange is over, Shaman Ji Nuan, should we settle our business?" Bowman stepped forward to address her.
Ji Nuan, unperturbed, took the last Beast God Fruit from Mu Qing’s hands and appraised it calmly.
"It should be settled, indeed. How do you propose we do so?"
Bowman sneered, "By the laws of the Beast World Continent, through a duel!"
Ji Nuan’s fingers, which were playing with the Beast God Fruit, paused at his words. She scoffed, "A duel? You trying to waste my time?"
She then walked to the edge of the Watson Tribe’s area and added, "Either all of you stay here, or piss off early and stop wasting my time."
The surrounding Orcs instantly erupted into astonishment.
"My god, it seems like this Shaman wants all the Orcs from the Gru Tribe to die here!"
"Isn’t it obvious? The Shaman swore to have only one mate, yet Bertel took that from her. Is she not entitled to be angry?"
The nearby Orcs nodded in agreement. Their gaze was filled with awe and admiration for Ji Nuan, "I wonder which lucky Orc has won the Shaman’s heart, for her to swear to have him as her only mate."
"I wonder if she will find another mate."
"What are you thinking, as if she’ll set her sights on you."
"So, you think she’d prefer you?"
And so, a new topic unfolded, entirely oblivious to the escalating tension between the two main tribes.
Upon hearing Ji Nuan’s words, Bowman’s face froze. The warriors he’d brought were the strongest in his tribe, and their mission was to ensure the safe return of the Divine Wood Tree Branches and Leaves, and the Beast God Fruits. If his warriors were all killed here by the Watson Tribe, their trip would look more like a comedy act.
No, this can’t happen!
Bowman wanted to refuse Ji Nuan’s proposal, but he was the one who had originally suggested the battle. Now he found himself high on a platform, hard-pressed to back down.
"Ha ha, we’re all here to trade, aren’t we? Why make things so tense?" Suddenly, Nakula stepped forward, positioning himself between the two tribes.
Then he turned to Bowman, "You’re still young, lad. Sacrifices in a tribal war are unavoidable. How could you cause trouble during a trade meet? I think we should drop this matter."
