Chapter 549 - 548, Delivering Fruit_1
In striking contrast with the enchanting nightfall was an Orc from the Serra Tribe, sitting within a secluded small tent.
Mo Zhu and the Shaman Disciple sat at the furthest point within the tent, their faces clouded and dark.
The Orcs below watched the two grim-faced beasts in trembling apprehension, not daring to utter a single word.
The Shaman Disciple suddenly sneered, tilting his eyes towards Mo Zhu beside him: "Didn’t you say this Shaman Ji Nuan is quite sympathetic? That she tends to heal any injured Orc as soon as she hears about them?"
Mo Zhu pounded the ground in anger: "Indeed, she used to heal the injured Orcs from the tribes in Eneru Forest and those from the Monte Tribe."
The Shaman Disciple mocked: "You have high hopes indeed. Those are members of the Alliance Tribe; they naturally aid each other in times of difficulty. But what about us? Especially when you have offended the shaman during the grand trading assembly?"
"And what good does bringing up these arguments do? Didn’t the words you spoke today drive Shaman Ji Nuan away? I’d like to see how you explain this to the Clan Leader and your father when we return," Mo Zhu added some fuel to the fire.
The face of the Shaman Disciple instantly dropped: "Bringing that up now is of no use, we should instead consider our next steps."
Mo Zhu fell silent; what would he know about what to do next?
The Shaman Ji Nuan was unwilling to go to the Serra Tribe, and she was always accompanied by formidable Orcs...
Mo Zhu, dispirited, suggested: "Let’s head back, save as many Orcs as we can, and stop wasting time here."
The Shaman Disciple looked at him with contempt. He honestly couldn’t believe that a Shaman’s female offspring could turn out to be such a cowardly beast: "Let’s try again tomorrow to persuade the shaman. Otherwise, while Shaman Ji Nuan is treating the Orcs, I’ll go and watch her. Maybe I could learn her techniques and use them to treat our tribesmen back home."
Mo Zhu’s eyes brightened; he responded with excitement, "That could work! It’s rumored that Shaman Ji Nuan doesn’t mind if there’re any Orcs around while she’s treating someone. As long as we learn her methods of treatment, we can plan to take her back and let Ah Mei seek her revenge."
The mention of Ah Mei caused the Shaman Disciple’s eyes to shine: "What does this have to do with Nana?"
Mo Zhu sneered: "Nana’s arm was broken under orders from the shaman the last time we went to the Eneru Forest."
The Shaman Disciple instantly stood up: "She broke Nana’s arm? Why didn’t you mention such a crucial thing earlier?"
Mo Zhu gave him a sideways glance: "So what if I had told you? Are you planning to harm a shaman in the Monte Tribe?"
The Shaman Disciple clinched his fist, murmuring: "Once I learn to heal bone injuries, I will definitely..."
A strong murderous glint crossed his eyes.
"Hello, I’ve brought some fruit for you all." A refined female voice echoed outside the tent, prompting the beasts inside to instantly be on their guard.
Mo Zhu moved his chin slightly: "Lift the beast skin curtain."
The closest beast shuffled over and cautiously lifted the curtain.
Under the glow of the firelight, a tall and athletically built woman was holding a leaf-full of fruits outside the tent.
Upon seeing the curtain lifting, she quickly handed the fruits to the beast next to her: "Oh please, how much longer were you planning to take? My hands are sore from holding these fruits."
Her tone was playfully exasperated as she raised her eyes to look at the two beasts at the further end of the tent.
