Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 509 - 508, A Narrow Escape_1

The Orcs were happy and quickly nodded their heads to show they can do it.

Ji Nuan and their group greeted Chief Ge Xing and joined Xiong Dan to start their journey to the Gray Bear Tribe.

They slowed their pace along the way, fearing another encounter with the elk herd. They arrived at the Gray Bear Tribe after dinner, just as the Gray Bear Clan Leader was preparing to go into the forest to find some beasts.

Seeing Ji Nuan and Xiong Dan return together, the Clan Leader was stunned, "How did Shaman Ji Nuan end up here with this little brat?"

Ji Nuan laughed, "While we were out today, we ran into Xiong Dan and his group being chased by an elk herd, so they retreated back to our tribe for safety."

Then, giving Xiong Dan a smile, he added, "I was planning to come tomorrow, but Xiong Dan didn’t want you to risk looking for them at night, so we came right back."

As soon as Ji Nuan said this, the Clan Leader swallowed the reprimand he was about to voice. He gave Xiong Dan and his group an unusually satisfied look and waved them off, "Okay, it’s good that you’re back. Go eat something and rest, you’ve had a long day."

Xiong Dan and his group were thrilled to dodge the Clan Leader’s verbal lash. After saying goodbye to Ji Nuan’s group, they rushed toward their own tents excitedly. Jokingly, they thought, if not now when? What if the Clan Leader changed his mind and scolded them?

The Clan Leader shot a disgruntled glare at them and muttered, "A bunch of cub bears."

Ji Nuan sweated. He certainly wasn’t a cub bear!

"Shaman Ji Nuan, do you need something?" the Clan Leader chuckled as he guided Ji Nuan and his group into the tribe.

Ji Nuan said, "Actually, the same incidents have occurred within our territory, which is why I brought the others to investigate."

The Clan Leader’s face creased in worry, "Shi Jie came to me once before, but I thought it wasn’t that serious and it would resolve itself over time, so I didn’t pay much attention. I didn’t expect it to get worse."

While Ji Nuan and the Clan Leader were having a chat, Xiu Yan was setting up tents with the Orcs. The basic tents were quite handy, and they had them up in no time.

After Ji Nuan got a basic understanding of the Gray Bear Tribe’s situation, he had dinner and then went back to rest in his tent.

The next morning, Ji Nuan was awakened by a noisy commotion. Rubbing his eyes, he saw Xiu Yan entering the tent, "What’s happening out there? It’s so loud."

Xiu Yan frowned, apparently a bit upset that the noise from the Orcs had woken his partner, "Not sure, but it’s coming from the Gray Bear Tribe Shaman’s tent."

Ji Nuan nodded, alright, it must be that some beast has fallen ill. But as they hadn’t called for him, he decided not to interfere and risk displeasing the Tribal Shaman.

The Orcs had already set up stoves outside and placed large black iron pots over the fires. The pots were filled with fragrant sweet fruit and stewed meat, and the aroma wafted through the air.

After freshening up, Ji Nuan squatted next to the pot, eagerly anticipating the cooked stew. However, the commotion around the Shaman’s tent didn’t stop. Instead, it seemed to have gotten louder, worrying Ji Nuan.

He decided to get up, grabbed his medicine, and headed towards the source of the noise, "Let’s just go take a look."
