Chapter 508 - 507, The Bear’s Life is Too Hard_1
Xiong Dan was suffering deep inside. He grimaced, "I didn’t want this either. This herd of elks has been chasing us since the early morning, without stopping. We’re already exhausted.
When we saw you guys, we rushed over. Never expected that there were only a few orcs here, even Shaman Ji Nuan is here. When we get back, the Clan Leader will definitely punish us."
Thinking of the fierce bear boss, Xiong Dan’s heart shrank to the size of a sesame. His life as a bear was so tough.
Ji Nuan forced a bitter smile, "Enough talking. Instead of wasting our energy on this, we should just speed up and run. If we get caught, your butts will have to pay the price."
Hearing this, the faces of all the orcs tightened, and they braced themselves.
"Shaman, what should we do now? I don’t think Xiong Dan and the others can hold on much longer," Fu Yi asked, sitting atop the head of an orc with a worried look on his furry face.
Ji Nuan took a look at the situation around them, "For now, we can only head back to the tribe."
Hearing this, Xiu Yan nodded his massive wolf head and led the way back to the tribe.
Upon seeing the city wall, he howled, and the orcs on the wall hurriedly went to open the city gate.
They increased their speed and dashed into the city just as the herd of elks was about to catch up, closing the city gate behind them.
The orcs stood alert behind the gate. Eventually, the fierce battering and the elk’s cries quieted down outside the gate.
When Ji Nuan and the others climbed the city wall and looked down, they saw a pile of elk bodies near the gate and the wall. The remaining elks circled the bodies or nudged them with their heads. Noticing no movement, they finally raised their heads and cried out.
After lingering outside the city wall for a while, the dejected herd finally retreated towards the forest.
The orcs of the Watson Tribe opened the gate and cheerily dragged in the bodies of the elks.
What a great harvest without any effort!
Xiong Dan and the others watched with wide eyes as the orcs of the Watson Tribe gleefully cleaned up the mountain-like pile of elk bodies. They might look silly with their wide grins, but they were very sour inside.
Ji Nuan walked up to them, "What did you guys do? Why did these elks chase you for so long?"
A aggrieved look spread over Xiong Dan’s face, "Lately, I don’t know what’s gotten into the game. Whenever we encounter a herd, if we provoke one, it’s like poking a nest of Buzzing Insects."
After mentioning Buzzing Insects, Xiong Dan couldn’t help but lick his lips, "A whole group of game chases after the orcs. Many orc injuries are due to this."
Ji Nuan furrowed her brows, "I didn’t realize it had gotten that severe."
Xiong Dan nodded, "Yes, this time we originally planned to catch a Green Bull Beast. But we accidentally snapped a branch and startled the elks. They’ve been chasing us ever since. It’s been dreadful."
Ji Nuan nodded, "Our tribe is a distance away from the forest. We initially planned to check out what was happening inside the forest but then we bumped into you guys. Rest for now. It’s late. We’ll head back together tomorrow."
Xiong Dan hesitated, "If we don’t return, the tribe will come looking for us."
Ji Nuan considered this and then looked at them, "Do you guys still have the energy? We could head back to your tribe right now."
