100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat

Chapter 61: Forgotten City: The Shore

THUD!

Two feet landed on the ground creating a not too loud noise but enough to be heard that something dropped from the sky.

It was Aegon, however, he didn’t drop from the sky.

"What the..."

He landed on his feet with the support of his hands on the ground, and although a cloud of dust was formed from this impact it didn’t last long.

"Where am I?"

Using his hand he could feel the ground and it didn’t feel solid or concrete, rather it felt like;

"Sand?"

Aegon got up and dusted the sand out of his hands, then he looked up and saw the hole in which he had come out from.

"No way..."

The hole in which he had come out from was about seven feet up high and part of a wall. A wall that stretched far wide.

However, behind this wall there was a building that looked massive and ancient with strange symbols on it.

"Is that supposed to be a church? How’s that possible?"

Aegon couldn’t believe it, he had fallen from an underground tunnel but that didn’t seem to be the case.

While he had thought he was in a tunnel and would have perhaps come out from underground, here, it was the opposite.

"So I wasn’t in an underground tunnel?"

Even he wouldn’t understand fully what was happening. He looked to his left and there the building that looked like a church was,, but it was within the walls.

"Am I out of the city?"

Aegon turned his neck to his right and saw the ocean far in the distance, it was visible but not as close as the first time he saw it.

"This is strange. Where is the forest, and how come the shore is this big, where..."

The thing is, the first time Aegon appeared in this place, he appeared on a shore which was in the middle of a long forest and a large ocean.

They both stretched wide into the ends of the area and felt as though they didn’t have an end, but as the case may be, it wasn’t so.

"So I am back to the shore again, but not exactly. A new shore? Perhaps this is the back of the city. But where is the castle, shouldn’t it be visible from wherever?"

Aegon was a bit perplexed about the situation. He was on a shore, but not the one he was before; as that one was at the center of an ocean and forest.

This, however, was at the center of the ocean, which is at the left in a far distance and the wall of the city on the right.

How did Aegon know this was the wall of the city? It was because of the statues that were on them.

The first time he saw the wall, there were a lot of statues after a meter and it would seem they are at every part of the wall.

But even though he was outside of the city, he should at least be able to see the castle head, and not that of a church, this could only mean one thing.

"Is the city that large? If it is, it would explain how I can’t see a castle of that height at this distance. It must be very far."

"Just how much did I walk away from it. How far did I go?"

"I have to say they sure succeeded in keeping me away... for now. I will be back, I just need to find the way in again."

Aegon was curious, but not anxious, he didn’t seem troubled or worried. He was calm, and turned off the torch light in his hand.

After he had done that he placed it into the inventory; filling a slot which displayed an image of a torch light.

His dagger, however, was still in his hands, and he was still curious to know what was going on.

He turned around, at his back, away from where he had fallen from, a mislead underground, and saw something strange.

"What is that?".

He strained his eyes at a certain area in a not too distant side of the shore. It was very dark even with the light of the blood moon.

The blood moon seems to reach everywhere in this mysterious land and bathes everything in sight with its soaked red color.

There hasn’t been a single time when it had set or risen, it just stayed in the same place, almost as if it was watching.

The sun hadn’t risen and the moon hadn’t set, it felt like this place was cursed. Why is a blood moon always shining and not going away, if not a place that is already cursed?

The moon itself didn’t bother Aegon but what disturbed him was that even as bright as the moon was, its light still couldn’t penetrate this area.

"Something is there."

Aegon had this feeling as he saw the area giving off a strange energy. It emits a small portion of mana, making it strange.

Although it was pitch black, every part felt single and unique in its own ways.

At this moment, Aegon decided to go and check it out. He took the first step with his right leg and as it dropped, it made a sound.

CLICK!

He looked down and saw that he had stopped on a skeleton. It wasn’t human, as this was a part of a creature that would normally not be seen in humans.

However, that wasn’t the main attraction. While his eyes were on the ground, he felt the sand on the skeleton move.

But, it wasn’t only in that area. His gaze moved from his right and the sand seemed to shift.

Then he heard some kind of strange sound, it felt unreal. It was at this moment that Aegon raised his head.

To his surprise, the dark area which he thought was a mere place had risen. And the part that felt single seemed to have divided themselves.

Seeing this, Aegon strained his eyes even more to see what that was, but just as he did, each part began to rise while at the same time separating from each other.

After they had moved, the darkness could be figured out, as each other had a figure-like appearance.

However, they were not humans nor normal animals.

Aegon was still trying to figure out what they were since they were still in black and absorbed the light that was casted on them.

It was like they were using some kind of technique to hide their appearance.

At that moment, a pair of red glowing dots appeared in each of them. Some of the dots were up on a figure body, others down.

The dot was the only thing that could be seen from their bodies and they were all facing Aegon’s direction.

Seeing this, Aegon relaxed his eyes from being strained and let out a smile of being intrigued.

"You can see me, I take it?"

He knew the dots were eyes; deadly eyes of monsters that were releasing their bloodlust.

This was the reason that he felt intrigued, yet how did he know about this?

Simple.
