Chapter 55: Forgotten City [5]
Aegon brought out the pendant from within his clothes, he did know what she wanted to do with it.
But one thing was clear, it was the pendant that allowed him to enter the wall, through its acts of mana.
’Will she do the same thing?’
The thought came to him as he looked up at her, yet she looked curious.
Her eyes were glowing blue as they gazed at the pendant in his hand, then she opened her mouth and spoke.
"You seek mana but you already have it. This is the last spirit of the forest, the one who is to guard you wherever you go..."
Hearing this, Aegon knew these were the exact same words from Suisho, and now Aranyani was repeating it again.
"Yeah I have heard that before, and I have seen what it came to do, so..." the words left Aegon’s lips.
He already knew what the pendant was capable of after seeing how it allowed him to enter the wall, so there wasn’t much she could say that would tell him otherwise.
And hearing this, Aranyani smiled. She moved around him while still floating in the air, her radiant beauty glowing.
"That’s not the only thing that it can do for you, oh Aegon. This is the last spirit, and it contains the memory and every other spirit of all in the forest."
"It is more than a spirit, but one with the gathering of many."
As Aegon heard this his eyes widened. Never would he have thought it was anything relating to other souls.
"You just don’t carry a spirit with you, but also the power of many souls, and within those souls lies what will help you in your situation."
At this point, Aranyani had already moved behind Aegon while she spoke, but he didn’t turn around to look at her since he had thought she would come around from his right again.
"But be careful, use it too much and you will be dragged into the void of the lost souls..."
Her last words sounded like a warning and this brought Aegon’s interest, he wanted to know what it was all about.
He wanted to ask some questions.
He turned around to look at Aranyani, but she was gone. Nowhere to be found.
He turned around again to see if she was behind him, but as he did, his view changed and he saw himself in front of the seven foot monster.
The cloud of dust just cleared fully and there appeared Aegon at the right side of the seven foot monster, unharmed.
"That’s him!..." one of the Awakeners inside the same cage as Chrome exclaimed.
Chrome, who at this moment was in the middle of his thoughts, quickly heard the voice, raised his head and saw how Aegon was dazzling in radiant light.
His chest especially wound filled with more light than his entire body, hence the source of the light.
The light glowed in green, blue, purple and black. A combination of the forest color and his own color.
Aegon’s eyes were fixed at the seven foot monster when he heard the familiar ring sound in his ear.

The light around Aegon increased so intensely that it was almost blinding.
He saw the system notice, but didn’t have the chance to read exactly what was there, but he knew it was something good.
With the strange mana flowing through him, he knew he couldn’t let such an opportunity pass by, so he materialized the dagger in his hand.
Aegon dashed towards the seven foot monster who couldn’t even see him coming, yet was able to react on time.
Aegon raised his right hand which held the dagger and struck it at the seven foot monster, but it also used its own weapon and stopped Aegon’s blow.
However, the force from Aegon’s glow was so strong that it created a massive wave upon impact and both their feet cracked the ground below them.
They both were emitting strong mana that flowed out of their body, but Aegon wasn’t ready to be bested.
He pushed the dagger, pressing the hand of the seven foot monster and its weapon, but it didn’t allow Aegon to succeed.
The seven foot monster pushed upwards, Aegon and his dagger, using all its strength to hold that position.
But there was one difference between the two of them. While one wanted to hold the position, the other, Aegon, wasn’t trying to do that.
With the amount of space he had gotten after he had pushed the hands of the seven foot monster even before it could successfully hold its position.
Aegon had already thought of his next move. In that moment, while the seven foot monster had thought it had won, Aegon vanished.
The seven foot monster nearly fell to the ground after the support of Aegon had left, but it didn’t.
The monster groaned and thought that this human was going to play the same trick again, and it already knew it.
So the monster turned around to see Aegon, but it didn’t see him there.
"Looking for me?"
Aegon was at the original position he was standing before vanishing, yet it looked like he never left.
The monster was shocked and almost unable to react on time even with the mana that it had that made it stronger.
"I am not only going to kill you, but give you to a fate that you would never escape."
The monster hearing these words felt a deep feeling of fear and death behind it, that it used up all its mana just to turn around.
And after it had turned, it raised its weapon, but it was very slow as Aegon had already made this move.
"Cease to exist!"
Aegon uttered calmly, raised his dagger and imbued it with a localized controlled warp field that mimics the edge of an event horizon.
Then he dashed and touched the dagger on the monster’s body. But this wasn’t a mere touch.
As Aegon moved away, the touch had subjected to a full unbalanced tidal force of a black hole being stretched and pulled apart on a molecular level
The entire area brightened, waves of void energy threatening to take every in with it, but it didn’t, only the monster fell a victim.
The monster was being sucked into a black hole while being stretched. Its body divided into half, and those two halves, each, divided into their own two halves, and new two halves did the same, over and over again.
This continued until there was nothing left of the monster and the area was cleared of its presence like it had never existed.
