Chapter 5. One Hard Slap Snapped the Entire Lin Family Awake
“Why are you laying hands on us?!”
Lin Wan’s mother, Liu Su, dressed like a wealthy matron, hurried forward to shove Uncle Feng aside and shield her daughter as she shrieked in her sharp voice.
“You barged into our home and beat my daughter. That’s against the law! I’m reporting this to the Law Enforcement Bureau. Just wait to be thrown in jail!”
Her younger brother, Lin Tian, grabbed the still-dazed Lin Wan and quickly pulled out his phone to start recording. “Try hitting us again, and the charge will stick!”
“Enough!” Lin Wan’s father, Lin Hai, moved in front of his wife and daughter protectively, then turned around and spoke with a dark expression. “Butler Feng, if there’s something to discuss, then we can discuss it. But hitting people is going too far.”
Uncle Feng let out a cold laugh. “This is the young master’s villa. Not only have you forcibly occupied it, you’ve refused to leave. That counts as illegal trespass and unlawful occupation.”
“So tell me, when the Law Enforcement Bureau arrives, who exactly will they be locking up? Us, or you?”
The moment those words fell, every member of the Lin family looked toward the name on the property deed lying on the floor, and their expressions changed instantly.
“Bullshit!” Lin Tian, with his earrings and dyed yellow hair, flew into a rage. “My brother-in-law personally promised this villa to my sister. What right do you have to throw us out?”
“You don’t speak for my brother-in-law. Tell him to come here himself!”
“You think you’re worthy of calling the young master your brother-in-law?” Uncle Feng snorted coldly. “You laze around all day, living off the money the young master gives you, yet you still have the nerve to act tough here?”
At first, Uncle Feng had not known about Lin Wan breaking up with the young master. But when the young master suddenly ordered him to recover everything given to Lin Wan, suspicion had naturally arisen.
After asking the guards on duty, he learned that after Lin Wan had secured a guaranteed place in the Yanhuang Team with the young master’s help, she had grown full of herself and dumped him.
The moment he heard that, he had been furious.
Uncle Feng’s gaze turned icy as he pointed at each member of the Lin family in turn and rebuked them. “And you, Lin Hai. Without the young master’s help, would your company ever have gotten off the ground?”
“And you too, Liu Su. You spent the young master’s money every single day, shopping all over the malls and spending like water, yet behind his back you constantly belittled him.”
“For four years, the young master gave so much to your Lin family. You truly raised a remarkable daughter. The moment she secured a guaranteed place in the Yanhuang Team, she started thinking she was some phoenix risen to the highest branch.”
“After using him, you wanted to throw him away? Hah. You wish.”
Dump Jiang Yichen?
Lin Hai and the other two, who had been worked up a moment ago, were all stunned when they heard that. They turned toward Lin Wan, who was standing behind them with one hand over half her face.
A short while ago, Jiang Yichen’s butler had barged in with a whole group of people and started throwing them out.
They had been utterly bewildered, not understanding what had happened at all.
But now that the butler had said this much, they instantly understood.
“Wan’er, you’re throwing Xiao Chen away?” Liu Su asked in horror.
Lin Tian shuddered all over. “Sis, what are you doing? Brother-in-law is so good to you. Where are you ever going to find a boyfriend that obedient again?”
“Go back and apologize to him right now. Then this whole matter can still be smoothed over.”
Their father, Lin Hai, also spoke in a stern voice. “Wan’er, stop this nonsense. Without Xiao Chen’s help, our Lin family would never have gotten where we are today. Go and apologize to him immediately.”
Lin Wan’s face still stung from the slap, and as she listened to her family’s scolding, her head buzzed.
She could not understand it.
Whenever she had brought up breaking up with Jiang Yichen in the past, he had always yielded to her in every possible way, apologizing over and over and even kneeling to beg her forgiveness.
So why was this time different? Not only had he sent his butler to drive her family out, he had even dared to hit her.
Jiang Yichen, what exactly are you trying to do?
Clenching her fists, Lin Wan’s eyes filled with hatred.
Jiang Yichen, you despicable bastard. You sent people to hit me and threaten my family.
You think you can force me back to your side this way?
You disgust me.
She bent down and picked up the property deed from the floor. Sure enough, Jiang Yichen’s name was written on it.
That only made her angrier.
He had clearly promised to give the villa to her, so why had he never transferred the deed?
So everything had been a lie after all.

Once you have given something away, what right do you have to take it back?
Glowering at Uncle Feng, Lin Wan flung the property deed back to the floor. “Go back and tell Jiang Yichen this: if he thinks he can force me back this way, he can keep dreaming!”
“He’s a waste. It took him four years just to reach the Second Realm. I simply don’t think highly of him.”
“I’m already a reserve member of the Yanhuang Team now. It’s Huaxia’s number one team. Jiang Yichen isn’t worthy of me reaching down to him!”
The moment those words were spoken, Lin Hai and the others felt their hearts leap into their throats.
“Nonsense!” Lin Hai trembled with fury. “Lin Wan, have you lost your mind?”
“Wan’er, don’t do something so foolish!”
“Sis, Brother-in-law’s martial talent may be a little lacking, but he’s rich. If you lose him, won’t that be a huge loss?”
But Lin Wan refused to listen. “Dad, Mom, Little Brother, don’t worry. Without Jiang Yichen, I’ll only rise higher and go farther!”
As Uncle Feng listened, his face flushed with anger, yet at the same time he found Lin Wan laughable.
Not worthy of her?
The young master of the number one great family in Huaxia was not worthy of her?
That was the sort of joke that could make people laugh themselves to death.
If the young master had not gone to such lengths to conceal his identity, all to keep her from feeling inferior, what right would she even have to speak like this?
For the sake of her dream, the young master had quarreled with the master and madam, even losing his position as heir, all just to push the Yanhuang Team to the top of the rankings.
And now that she had entered a team built by the young master’s own hands, she actually thought she had become some lofty creature perched on a high branch.

Uncle Feng swept a hand through the air and ordered, “Throw all their things out.”
Then he added coldly, “And throw them out as well.”
At his command, more than a dozen bodyguards in black suits stepped forward, seized all four members of the Lin family, and dragged them toward the door.
Lin Hai hurriedly said, “Butler Feng, there has to be some misunderstanding here. I’ll make Wan’er apologize to Xiao Chen—”
But the bodyguards showed no mercy. They dragged all four of them straight out of the villa district.
Within minutes, every one of their personal belongings had been thrown out after them and dumped in front of the family.

The ornate gates of the villa district slammed shut heavily.
The four members of the Lin family stood there with blank expressions, staring at the entrance to the district.
The veins at Lin Wan’s temples bulged, and her fists clenched so tightly they could tighten no further.
“Jiang Yichen! If you think this will make me submit, dream on—”
Smack!
“You disgraceful girl!” Lin Hai slapped her across the face, making her already swollen cheek stand out even more. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done?”
“Xiao Chen started a company for me, bought your brother a car and a house, and paid for the entire family’s living expenses.”
“Why would you break up with a boyfriend that good?!”
“Dad, I’ve already secured a guaranteed place with Huaxia’s number one team. We won’t need Jiang Yichen’s money anymore in the future,” Lin Wan argued stubbornly.
Lin Hai felt as though a bone were stuck in his throat. After a long sigh, he said, “Even so, you should have come back and discussed it with us first. Besides, Xiao Chen is so rich. Even if you didn’t want to stay with him, you could at least have kept him hanging on.”
Naturally, he knew that once his daughter entered Huaxia’s number one team, she was destined to rise to dazzling heights.
He had heard that the Yanhuang Team was backed by one of Huaxia’s top great families, and that villas and luxury cars were standard for every team member. They were drowning in wealth.
But now all of his company’s investors had withdrawn, and everything Jiang Yichen had given them had been taken back before they could even move it elsewhere. Their entire family had practically lost everything overnight.
His heart ached over the loss.
“That’s right, Sis. Even if you didn’t like Jiang Yichen, you could have kept stringing him along and made him keep paying for you and helping you reach the peak of martial arts. Wouldn’t that have been better?” Lin Tian was panicking too. Without Jiang Yichen, who was going to give him spending money now?
Lin Wan froze.
After thinking about it, she had to admit that what they said did make some sense.
But in the end, she still refused to lower her proud head.
“I don’t want a single cent of his filthy money. It makes me sick!”
“You—”
“That’s enough.” Her mother, Liu Su, stopped her husband, then gently touched her daughter’s reddened cheek and said softly, “Wan’er, whenever you brought up breaking up with Xiao Chen before, didn’t he always come in person with gifts, begging your forgiveness?”
“This time, Xiao Chen didn’t come himself, which means what his butler did was probably not his true intention. He must still have you in his heart.”

Her mother’s gentle tone eased more than half of the anger in Lin Wan’s heart.
She too found it strange. Why had Jiang Yichen been so forceful this time when she brought up breaking up?
And more than that, he had driven her family out and sent his butler to hit her.
Jiang Yichen owed her an explanation.
“Fine. Tomorrow morning, I’ll make Jiang Yichen give all of you an explanation,” Lin Wan said through clenched teeth.
