Chapter 4. He Stopped Caring and Slacked Off, and Both the Yanhuang Team and Lin Wan Panicked
Huazhong, Yanhuang Team Training Base.
It was deep into the night, yet the base was still brightly lit. Gentle, flowing music drifted out from the ballroom.
Uncle Feng, who had just arrived, paused in his tracks and frowned as he looked in through the ballroom window.
Inside, the members of the Yanhuang Team, dressed in uniforms marked with red flaming claw patterns, each held a formally dressed young woman in his arms, gracefully moving to the rhythm of the music.
This was nothing like what a proper team should be.
Uncle Feng folded his arms across his chest, his expression turning grim.
The young master had pushed them all the way to the top of the team rankings. He had even threatened his own life to force Madam to take money from the corporation to support them.
He had lost his status as heir because of them, yet these parasites were still here singing, dancing, and indulging themselves every night.
No wonder the young master had cut off all their resources.
They deserved it.
He did not go in immediately. Instead, he looked toward the Yanhuang Team’s captain Jiang Feng and vice-captain Leng Zhenghan, who were sitting on a sofa off to the side, drinking wine worth tens of millions.
With the hearing of a Seventh Realm Martial King, their conversation was crystal clear to him.
“Captain, the boss’s girlfriend is coming to report in the day after tomorrow. We should give her a grand welcome.”
Leng Zhenghan swirled his wineglass, one leg crossed over the other, as he looked at Jiang Feng.
The latter nodded slightly, a smile curling at his lips. “She is our cash cow, after all. With Lin Wan as a link between us, the boss will invest even more into the Yanhuang Team. We should definitely welcome her properly.”
Leaning back against the sofa, Leng Zhenghan laughed. “We’re lucky our boss is such a lovesick fool. Otherwise, the Yanhuang Team would never have reached where it is today.”
Jiang Feng did not deny it. Over the past four years, they had taken full advantage of the boss’s desire to help his girlfriend Lin Wan fulfill her dream and used that chance to enrich themselves.
Villas, luxury cars, and expensive watches had long since become standard. Their lifestyle had also become absurdly extravagant. If it was not the finest hotel, they would not stay there. If it was not the most expensive wine, they would not drink it.
But that pathetic simp of a boss had been completely focused on Lin Wan and had never cared how recklessly they squandered money.
As long as they kept a close eye on Lin Wan, that precious cash cow, their lives would only become even more perfect.
“Hah. I heard the boss’s fiancée is the Su family’s eldest daughter. I really wonder what kind of charm Lin Wan has to make him give up a fiancée like that.”
Leng Zhenghan shook his head. “Because he’s an idiot. If I were the boss, there’s no way I’d abandon the Su family’s heiress from the second-ranked great family just to chase after Lin Wan from some poor background. Anyone who did that would have to be sick in the head.”
After cursing him, he lifted his glass and drained it in one gulp.
Jiang Feng did not stop him. After all, the boss really was stupid and ridiculously easy to fool.

A sharp slap rang out beside his ear.
Crash!
The wineglass in Jiang Feng’s hand fell to the floor. Seeing the clear handprint on Leng Zhenghan’s face, he froze in place.
At once, every member of the Yanhuang Team stiffened. The music in the ballroom stopped, and the room sank into dead silence.
“You ungrateful wretches. The young master sacrificed so much to support you, yet not only have you drowned yourselves in luxury, you even insult him behind his back.”
Uncle Feng glared at them, fury blazing in his eyes, then raised his hand and slapped Jiang Feng across the face as well.
Both Jiang Feng and Leng Zhenghan were left dumbfounded, their minds going blank.
“Jiang Feng, I am formally informing you now: the young master will not invest another cent in the Yanhuang Team. All of your accounts will be frozen.”
“As for everything you bought using team funds, I will personally send people to recover it all.”
Boom!
It felt as though a bomb had exploded inside the heads of everyone in the Yanhuang Team. They all stared at Butler Feng in disbelief.
Forgetting the pain on his face, Jiang Feng hurried to his feet. “Butler Feng, we didn’t mean it that way. We were only—”
Pretending to be enraged, he shot Leng Zhenghan a glare, then raised his hand and slapped him too, making sure the punishment was evenly shared.
Leng Zhenghan clutched his cheek and stared at him in disbelief. “Captain, what are you doing?”
“What am I doing? You insulted the boss, and you’re asking me what I’m doing? Go to the training grounds and run a hundred laps.”
Jiang Feng barked at him, throwing him a meaningful look.
Leng Zhenghan hurriedly got to his feet and ran for the door.
“Butler Feng, I failed to manage my men properly. Tomorrow, I’ll personally apologize to the boss.”
Uncle Feng gave a cold snort. Naturally, he could tell Jiang Feng was only putting on an act.
“There’s no need. What I just said came directly from the young master.”
“Either you support yourselves from now on, or you disband on the spot. The young master will not concern himself with you anymore.”
After saying that, Uncle Feng pointed at every member of the Yanhuang Team. “Take care of yourselves.”
“Butler Feng—”
Jiang Feng tried to step forward and stop him, but a Seventh Realm Martial King was not someone he could possibly stop. He could only watch helplessly as Butler Feng disappeared from sight.
He was utterly confused. Why had the boss suddenly decided to cut off all support to the Yanhuang Team?

The boss had blocked him.
Jiang Feng stood there in a daze. The others tried as well, and the result was exactly the same.
This sudden turn of events left every one of them completely bewildered.
“Captain, the boss studies at Huazhong University. Tomorrow night is Lin Wan’s graduation ceremony. The boss will definitely be there.”
Leng Zhenghan, whose face was swollen like a pig’s head, suddenly spoke up.
The moment Jiang Feng heard that, it was as if he had grabbed hold of a lifeline. He immediately ordered, “Quick! Contact the school. We’re going to the graduation ceremony.”

Dressed in a glittering suit and standing tall and straight, Ye Chengyu held out a bouquet of flowers with a smile.
Lin Wan pinched at her white dress and shyly accepted them. “Brother Chengyu, you really were right. Jiang Yichen is nothing but a despicable little man.”
“In order to stop me from pursuing a better future, he actually wanted me to treat him like some benefactor and support him in return.”
Ye Chengyu smiled and nodded. His voice carried a slightly affected softness as he lifted a delicately posed hand. “That’s why I told you long ago to leave him. You’re a genius now, someone specially admitted into the Yanhuang Team.”
“And the Yanhuang Team’s benefits are the best out of all teams. I’ve heard that villas and luxury cars are standard for its members.”
Lin Wan’s eyes lit up.
She had felt a trace of reluctance before, but the moment she heard that, it vanished completely.
Once she entered the Yanhuang Team, who would still care about the little bit of money Jiang Yichen had?
And on top of that, her close friend Ye Chengyu was the young master of the Ye family, one of Huazhong’s second-tier families. His background was immensely powerful.
Now that Jiang Yichen, that burden, was gone, she would only go higher and farther.
“Brother Chengyu, I was wrong. If I had known long ago what kind of person Jiang Yichen really was, I would have broken up with him ages ago.”
Lin Wan said bitterly, “Jiang Yichen is truly disgusting. Since he loved me, he should have learned to let go instead of standing in the way of my pursuit of a better future.”
“Brother Chengyu, I’ll listen to you. Tomorrow night, at the graduation ceremony, I’ll publicly break up with Jiang Yichen.”
Ye Chengyu’s lips curved upward. A blade-like gleam hid in his alluring eyes as he praised her. “Wan’er, that will be the best decision you ever make in your life.”
“Mhm. Brother Chengyu, thank you for the flowers. I’ll head back now.”
Cradling the bouquet as though she could not bear to put it down, Lin Wan waved goodbye to Ye Chengyu, then turned and walked into the villa Jiang Yichen had given her.
“I’m back…”
But the moment she opened the door, she saw the living room was full of people.
Lin Wan froze. The bodyguards surrounding her family turned around as well.
She recognized one of them immediately.
It was none other than Jiang Yichen’s butler, Uncle Feng.
At once, a surge of rage rushed to her head. Jiang Yichen, you shameless bastard. He had only just brought up breaking up, and already he was sending people to threaten her family and force her back?
Burning with fury, Lin Wan strode up to Uncle Feng and raised her hand to slap him.
“Go back and tell Jiang Yichen that I will never—”
But before her slap could land, Uncle Feng backhanded her across the face, sending her spinning twice before she managed to steady herself.
Lin Wan was stunned.
How dared he hit her?
“Miss Lin, the young master, has given his orders. Everything he gave your family over the past four years is to be taken back. This villa no longer belongs to you. You and your family will get out of here immediately.”
Holding the property deed and a stack of documents, Uncle Feng threw them into Lin Wan’s face.
Lin Wan’s expression froze instantly. She lifted her head, her eyes full of disbelief.
