Chapter 170: Knowing the truth
It was no mistake, the baby did move. When Ming Tao rushed to Mira’s side and hurriedly dropped both bowls of water on the table then knelt by her side and placed his hand on her stomach, he had felt the baby move too.
It was then it suddenly clicked that they must have spent quite the time being apart and sorting several things but surely it must not have been weeks, or could it? If at all, maybe a week or two but Mira could not tell.
Was this another system upgrade that she was not aware of? Was birth rate faster when it had already happened once? Mira could also not tell and system gave no answer. Then again, it could just be the fact that this was not a human baby, but a beast baby, hence, a lot of things were different.
"My child is going to be healthy. And my child will be born in a healthy place too." Ming Tao said to Mira. He withdrew his hand from her belly then gripped both sides of her waist and placed a kiss on her stomach. Ming Tao rested his head on Mira’s belly like he was trying to hear his baby move.
"Your child? Would the baby come out of your private part, my husband?" Mira questioned with a raised brow. Her tone was not in any way close to being aggressive but Ming Tao’s body froze as he sensed the danger from a mile away. He swallowed and pushed his head away from her stomach.
"Our child, my darling." Ming Tao corrected. "I need to prepare a place for the delivery at once. I also need to prepare a room for our child to live in. Everywhere needs to be safe and free of anything harmful to cheetah babies." Ming Tao stated.
I think cheetah babies are smarter than lion babies and would not even dare to do anything that would harm them, Mira said to herself but she did not voice it out. Now that she thought about it, the cubs probably are the same, just different backgrounds made them act in different ways. "And a place for them to play indoors till they are grown enough to play with the other cheetah cubs." Mira added.
That was true, Ming Tao thought about creating a playground with some parts of the vast land that existed in the cheetah clan and it was about time that work had begun.
"Yes, this too." Ming Tao added. Now, the tension he had before was gone and he let his hand rub against Mira’s stomach as he stared at it. "I want to create a safe space for my cubs." Ming Tao immediately realised what he said and he shot his head up immediately. "Our cubs! Our cubs!!" He corrected.
Mira laughed. She dived her hand through his hair as she cupped his jaw. "You get a pass this time." Mira stated.
Ming Tao let out a sigh, Mira was being so kind to him that he wondered if this was just an easy mode introduction till she is back to her supreme leader mode. He would just allow himself live through it.

Mira felt her heart beat violently in her chest at the notification that popped in from for her screen. It felt like she was ready yet not at the same time to find out the truth behind these things.
System, can your influence open my husband’s eyes to seeing what these things truly are as well as you reveal it to me? It would be less suspicious that way, Mira asked in her mind.

Oh. So there was more to be done to access special system upgrades, Mira said in her head, well, she would just have to be patient and do them all.
Mira waited for the letters on her screen to drop as it did letter by letter and line by line. She would read through once it had all completely loaded.
"Ming Tao," Mira called slowly as the answers to her question popped on the screen.
"Yes, daring?" Ming Tao asked. Mira never took her hands off his hair and his face, Ming Tao’s tail wiggled behind him as she patted him gently. He was beginning to get drawn in by her scent and her pats. A purr left Ming Tao’s lips.
"I am beginning to understand what these things that belong to Hye Yang, means." Mira stated calmly. That was not necessarily a lie, she just could not tell him that she had a system that revealed it to her.
Ming Tao’s ears immediately sprung out to life. His eyes widened and he felt his blood pump faster in his veins. "That’s. . ." He began then swallowed. "That’s good." Ming Tao said. He wanted to stand up and retrieve the things on the table but he did not want to leave her side and her touch. "How did you find out?" Ming Tao asked, he had only been gone for a short while.
"It just. . . ." Mira started, her eyes fixed on the screen. The data she needed from system had fully loaded and was in front of her on the screen. As her eyes went through the words, she could not believe it. The reason why the leaves looked different was because they had been altered by something banned from these parts of the beast world. Hye Yang truly was asking for a death wish messing with such banned substances. Mira swallowed. "Came to me," she completed her sentence.
Ming Tao did not even want to make some logic of what she just said, Mira was the same person who brought s solution to the crisis in the cheetah clan so if she said she understood something that he could not simply because it came to her, then she was absolutely right.
