Chapter 45: Ch-45: Growing the Void Fruit
"Senior, these are all the valuable treasures that our family has accumulated over generations. You can pick whatever you like," the Lord said in a respectful tone as he gestured for Victor to take whatever he wanted. If it had been even a Warlock, there was no way he would have let them freely choose from the family treasury, but Victor had not only saved the city—which made him owe a huge favor—but also the power Victor displayed in the dungeon had truly shaken him. He doubted that even the Warlocks of the royal family or the dukedoms had such high potential as Victor, other than those families he did not think anyone else could rival Victor.
Victor took a look at the items with his special eyes, and they were indeed all good equipment, with no common-rank items, but most were uncommon-ranked, such as swords, armor, guns, even blueprints, and he also saw potion recipes.
There were no rare or powerful items. He was not disappointed, as there was still a stairway that led downstairs, and he hoped he would find something better there.
"The rarer items are not here," said the Lord as he gestured for him to descend the stairs.
After descending the stairs, Victor nodded his head as he thought, Definitely much better than the previous floor.
He had used his pupil technique and saw that there were many Superior Rank items, which were one rank higher than Uncommon Rank.
He walked around and scanned the items but did not feel much interest.
Although Superior Rank items were much better than Uncommon ones, he was not interested, as even his almost bankrupt Barony had many Superior Rank and even a few Rare Rank items left in the treasury. That was the foundation of noble families—that even wealthy and resourceful Lords of towns and cities could not compare, no matter how low nobility had fallen.
Victor walked toward the last three items that were placed directly at the end of the vault. One of the items was black armor, another was a black sword, and the last one was a white scroll, and he muttered, "Oh, Rare Rank."

Victor raised an eyebrow while reading the description of the items.
Victor looked at the Lord, who had a proud look on his face. Victor could understand that Rare Rank items for ordinary Lords could be passed down as heirlooms, but nobles—especially Dukes—equipped their armies and elites with Rare and even Epic Rank items.
"Senior, these three items are the most precious equipment in the vault and have been with our family since the founding of Meteor Town. It is said they were forged from the meteor that struck this place, which is also the origin of the town’s name. In fact, every time a disaster struck the town, the previous Lords wore these items into battle and resolved the crisis," the Lord explained in a serious voice, but Victor could sense the tension and hesitation in his tone.
"Relax, I can read your thoughts from your face. I have no intention of taking them," Victor said with an amused smile. The Lord, hearing this, had his face flush in embarrassment and also felt relieved. Even though he had said Victor could take anything from the vault, he hoped he would not take their family heirlooms. If he did, he would not stop him, but he would have no face to show his ancestors. As for why he did not remove the heirlooms before Victor entered the vault, the answer was simple—he did not dare. What if Victor found out and became offended?
"I have a question. Why didn’t you use them during the attack, especially the scroll?" Victor asked casually.
A bitter look appeared on the face of the Lord as he said, "I honestly didn’t want to use the items. I don’t know if you noticed, but the items don’t have much durability left, as they have been used for years. I try to use them sparingly so my future descendants can still use them."
"I see," Victor nodded and was about to leave the vault when his body stiffened as a new notification appeared in front of him.
[Origin Bloodline is reacting violently]
[Origin Bloodline has detected an otherworldly presence]
Victor felt his bloodline suddenly get drawn toward something, and he looked for the source. His eyes stopped at an old dusty glass cabinet. He could not see clearly due to the dust.
"Excuse me, is there something high-ranked in that cabinet? I suddenly sensed something," Victor said as he pointed at the cabinet.
He was curious. Being placed on such an important floor—the deepest floor—they should have cherished the powerful item, but it was locked in such a dirty cabinet, which seemed a bit contradictory.
"Oh, that... Senior Warlock, do you want to see that item?" the Lord frowned at first upon seeing the cabinet, as he had forgotten what was inside, but then he remembered what it was.
"I would like to see if I can," Victor said respectfully.
"Then let me show you," the Lord said as he walked toward the cabinet, which was at the center of the room, and Victor followed closely behind.
Saying that, the Lord took out a key and opened the lock of the cabinet.
"A seed..." Victor had a weird look on his face when he saw a small seed placed in the cabinet. He would have dismissed it as trash if his bloodline had not been stirring restlessly and the that feeling increased as he stoped in front of the seed.
He used his pupil technique on the item.
[Item: ?????]
[Rank: ?????]
[Description: ?????]
"This seed has been in my house for more than 300 years. My ancestors obtained it, but no one can detect what this item is."
"And there is no sign of change, but the magical density is very high."
"I can’t tell if this seed is good or bad, so after my father died, I put this seed on the last floor. I have also asked many experts and even Warlocks to examine it, but even they can’t tell what it is."
"If it weren’t for you, I would have almost forgotten that there is something like this in the cabinet."
"If Senior wants, he can take this," the Lord said, as he was also curious if Victor could discover what it was, as even his ancestors failed.
"Ah..." When Victor walked forward and was about to touch the seed, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his palm and saw a sharp cut appear.
"Huh?" his eyes widened when he saw blood dripping onto the seed and being absorbed by it, and the seed turned pale white.
"What’s happening?" Even the Lord was dumbfounded and leaned forward to see the bizarre scene that was happening in front of him.
Victor did not say anything as he kept pouring his blood onto the seed despite the weakness he starting to feel.
30 minutes later
"Fuck, how much longer..." Victor cursed as his face turned pale from blood loss. If the Lord had not provided him with healing potions, as he was out of stock from the fights, he would have fainted.
Woosh!
Suddenly, the seed was covered by a blinding light and transformed into a silver fruit.
[Ding Dong]
[Growth stimulation has been complete]
[You have successfully grown the Void Fruit]
[Void Fruit]
[Rank: Mythical]
[Description: Upon consuming it, you can awaken the Void Bloodline, which is an SSS-tier Warlock Bloodline]
When he saw the name of this item, Victor’s heart trembled. Just from the name, he could tell this bloodline was related to space-type abilities—one of the rarest and strongest powers. There were many races that could manipulate space to travel, make their bodies intangible, use telekinesis, and more. He even read in ancient scripts about some extinct spatial abilities.
’I wonder what kind of spatial power I will get,’ Victor thought. He hope she got some top tier spatial ability.
"Senior, what is this fruit?" the Lord asked curiously, eyeing the fruit in his hand. He could not suppress his curiosity and asked.
Victor did not answer but grabbed the fruit and took a bite without hesitation, continuing until it was consumed entirely.
As soon as he consumed it, he felt his body shudder.
