Chapter 99: The Father of the Void
The moon-sized eye dominated the sky above Zephyria.
It was a swirling vortex of pitch-black dark matter, edged with violent purple fire. It didn’t blink or move, it simply stared down at the Warlord on the black-stone balcony.
The physical pressure was absolute.
It was the crushing, existential weight of a Primordial Deity.
[System Warning: Primordial Entity Manifestation!]
[Name: Nihilus, The Father of the Void.]
[Danger Level: Incalculable.]
[Action Required: Submit or Perish.]
Elara dropped to one knee. The Valkyrie gritted her teeth, her fangs bared. Her Mythic Void-Weave armor sparked violently, trying to process the overwhelming dark energy flooding the atmosphere.
Beside her, Sarah collapsed entirely. The Star-Touched Oracle hit the stone floor, her Scepter of Cosmic Alignment rolling out of her grip. The sheer density of the Void completely snuffed out her starlight aura.
Lucifer did not drop.
He stood perfectly straight at the edge of the balcony. The Gauntlet of the Void King on his right hand crackled with fierce, defiant black lightning.
His Warlord core, pushed to the absolute Level 50 limit, anchored his boots to the stone.
He looked directly into the colossal purple iris.
"You’re early," Lucifer repeated coldly. "I was getting bored."
The sky vibrated.
It was a deep, thrumming sound that bypassed the air and resonated directly within Lucifer’s soul. It was a chuckle. The Primordial God of the Void was laughing.
"You do not tremble, little spark," a voice echoed in Lucifer’s mind.
The voice was vast. It sounded like grinding galaxies and empty, freezing space. It carried no anger. It carried infinite, terrifying curiosity.
"Mortals break when I look at them. Yet you stand on your flying rock and sneer. You devoured a fragment of my essence in the dark. You wear it well."
"The Void Spark was lying in a box," Lucifer replied smoothly. He did not draw his sword. A sword was useless against a being that spanned dimensions. "I put it to work."
"You did more than that," Nihilus whispered. The massive eye shifted slightly, focusing on the ruby-red Carnage Core resting on Lucifer’s hip.
"You slaughtered the Rot Lord’s projection. You vaporized the World-Eater. You tore a hole in my realm, stole my ore, and fed my children to your hungry little gemstone."
"They were in my way," Lucifer stated flatly.
"They were weak," Nihilus corrected him. The purple fire around the giant eye flared brilliantly. "The Umbra is a crucible. The weak are consumed. You consumed them. You proved your density. I am not here to punish you, Regressor."
Lucifer’s eyes narrowed slightly.
The entity knew what he was. It saw past the Warlord class and the dark armor. It saw the soul that had traveled back in time to rewrite the end of the world.
"Then why are you here?" Lucifer demanded. He crossed his iron gauntlets over his chest. "You tore the sky open. Speak your terms."
"I do not offer terms to mortals. I offer tools to my reflections," Nihilus stated. The crushing gravity pressing down on the balcony eased slightly, forming a pocket of breathable air around Lucifer.
"The Abyss is stirring. The lesser demon lords prepare to breach the mortal plane. The celestial gods hoard their light and prepare to abandon this world. It is a tedious, repeating cycle."
The giant pupil contracted, focusing entirely on Lucifer.
"But you are an anomaly. You weaponize my darkness. You bind angels and slay kings. I wish to see how far you can push the dark before it breaks you. I offer you a pact, Lucifer of Obsidian."
A massive, glowing purple system interface materialized in the air between Lucifer and the colossal eye. It did not look like standard system text. The letters were forged of pure, crackling dark matter.
[Primordial Pact Offered.]
[Entity: Nihilus, The Father of the Void.]
[Title: Viceroy of Shadows.]
Lucifer read the glowing text.
In his past life, warlocks and cultists sacrificed millions of innocent lives just to get a fraction of a lesser god’s attention. They gave up their free will, their sanity, and their souls for scraps of power.
Lucifer had just been offered a direct alliance with a Primordial deity simply for being the most violent entity on the board.
"What does the title grant?" Lucifer asked coldly.
"Dominion," Nihilus answered. "You conquered the Umbra, but you had to open a door to reach it. As my Viceroy, you do not need doors.
You will command the shadows directly in the mortal plane. You will summon my legions without portals. You will wield the true weight of the Void."
It was the ultimate tactical advantage. He wouldn’t just be a Warlord commanding a mortal army. He would be a planar general.
"And the cost?" Lucifer asked. He didn’t blink. "I don’t serve. I don’t kneel. If you want a puppet, go resurrect the Lich Lord."
The giant eye flared with intense, violent amusement.
"I do not want a puppet. I want an apex predator," Nihilus rumbled. "The cost is simple. You continue your slaughter. You burn the Abyssal lords when they arrive. You shatter the celestial gates if they try to flee. You feed the void. You act as my hand, and I will not bind your will."
"I command," Lucifer stated smoothly. "You watch."
"Agreed."
Lucifer raised his right hand. The Gauntlet of the Void King crackled with black lightning.
He reached out and pressed his iron-clad knuckles directly against the glowing purple system interface.
The dark matter text shattered.
A beam of pure, absolute darkness shot down from the colossal eye in the sky.
It bypassed Lucifer’s armor completely and struck his chest, fusing directly with his Void Arcanist core.
The pain was nonexistent. This was not a forced integration like the Void Spark. This was a seamless, perfect synchronization of power.
Lucifer’s mana pathways expanded, turning from bright violet to pitch black.

Lucifer lowered his hand.
The intense, crushing weight of the Primordial god vanished completely from the balcony.
He looked up. The colossal, moon-sized eye in the sky slowly began to close.
"Tear them apart, Viceroy," the voice of Nihilus whispered, fading into the freezing wind. "Make it entertaining."
The jagged, pitch-black fissure in the sky sealed shut.
The stars returned. The crisp, clear night sky of the mortal plane was perfectly restored. The oppressive, terrifying presence of the Void Father was gone, leaving only the hum of the Cryo-Pylons and the distant screeching of the Glacial Wyrms.
Lucifer stood in the center of the balcony.
He felt the change immediately. His Warlord core was previously a massive, heavy battery of power. Now, it felt like an infinite, depthless ocean.
He was connected to the very shadows cast by the starlight on the black-stone floor.
Elara gasped, pushing herself off the ground. The Valkyrie’s golden eyes were wide with residual shock. She looked at Lucifer.
"The pressure is gone," Elara breathed. She picked up her silver spear, using it to steady herself. "He offered you a pact. A Primordial god negotiated with you."
"He made an investment," Lucifer corrected her smoothly.
Sarah groaned softly, pushing herself up into a sitting position. She rubbed her temples, her cosmic eyes swirling frantically as she tried to process the lingering divine energy.
Lucifer turned to the darkest corner of the balcony, where the shadow of the central keep fell over the stone.
He didn’t cast a spell. He didn’t channel his mana. He simply willed the darkness to obey him.
"Rise," Lucifer commanded.
The shadow on the floor detached itself from the stone. It peeled upward, turning three-dimensional. Thick, freezing gray mist poured off it.
In a fraction of a second, four Void-Stalker Phantoms materialized on the balcony.
They were completely silent. They hovered an inch off the ground, their tattered spectral hoods hiding their faceless forms.
Their jagged, dark-matter blades hummed with lethal spatial energy. They were identical to the assassins he had purchased in the Umbra, but he hadn’t used a portal to bring them here. He had literally pulled them out of the shade.
[System: Umbral Legion Summoned.]
[Active Units: 4x Void-Stalker Phantoms.]
Elara leveled her spear at the Phantoms instinctively, but they did not move. They bowed their hooded heads to Lucifer in absolute synchronization.
"They don’t need a door anymore," Lucifer stated coldly. A dark, predatory smirk broke across his face. "I can spawn an army inside a locked vault. I can drop a Behemoth into a King’s bedchamber."
He waved his hand. The four Phantoms instantly dissolved back into normal, harmless shadows on the floor.
"The integration is perfect," Lucifer said.
He turned back to the golden railing of the observation deck. He looked out over the floating city of Zephyria.
Below him, his thirteen million mortal soldiers were sleeping peacefully, completely unaware that their commander had just struck a deal with the creator of the monsters they had fought all day.
He looked at the distant, southern horizon. The human capital was burning. The King was broken. The Coalition was dead.
He had the backing of a Primordial Deity. He had the ultimate, unblockable ambush capability.
Lucifer tapped his comms rune.
"Celeste. Scarlett. Isolde," Lucifer ordered, his voice ringing with absolute, terrifying clarity. "The rest period is over. Wake the men."
"Orders, Grand Marshal?" Celeste asked, her voice cracking instantly through the link.
"We are not staying in the mountains," Lucifer announced. He placed his Gauntlet of the Void King flat on the golden railing.
"We are taking the city south. It is time to cast a shadow over the King."
