Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1060 - 789: Battle in Godric’s Hollow (2)

"You must die!" Bellatrix quickly made the decision, her arm raising swiftly as she took advantage of Kael’s distraction with the other Death Eaters, sending a beam of red light directly at him.

The charm was fast, arriving in front of Kael in the blink of an eye. Because it was a sneak attack and Bellatrix timed it perfectly, she thought Kael would definitely not evade it, not even with apparition.

However, Kael had no intention of dodging.

As the red light struck, the exquisite silver shield reappeared, deflecting the charm onto a nearby Death Eater, who rolled his eyes back and fainted without even realizing what happened.

Kael had already returned to Lupin’s side, standing shoulder to shoulder with Sirius.

Yet, what puzzled them was that Bellatrix did not attack again.

She merely stood there, suddenly appearing dazed.

"This is impossible!" she screeched, looking at Kael, "This is impossible, how can you use the Dark Lord’s magic!"

She remembered clearly when Voldemort battled Dumbledore in the Ministry of Magic’s hall during the prophecy crystal ball robbery, the Dark Lord had used the same shield-like Iron Armor Spell to ward off Dumbledore’s attacks.

Bellatrix always thought it was magic exclusive to Voldemort, never expecting to see it again, particularly from Kael.

Why Kael, how could it be Kael! Bellatrix could not accept it.

Suddenly she went berserk, wildly flinging charms toward Kael’s location with no rhyme or reason.

For some unknown reason, Kael did not retaliate, just stood there smiling at Bellatrix, while the silver shield appeared each time a charm approached, deflecting the attacks randomly onto a fortunate Death Eater.

Kael nearly burst into laughter, but the more joyful he became, the more frantic Bellatrix grew, casting even more charms, which were all redirected onto other Death Eaters.

Kael was even happier now.

It was as if a cycle had been formed where he just stood still, while the surrounding Death Eaters were nearly cleared out by their own side.

Once those Death Eaters realized this, they quickly distanced themselves from Kael and Bellatrix, retreating even farther away, leaving Kael to sigh with a sense of satisfaction.

Meanwhile, Sirius had taken the opportunity to rescue the injured Tonks couple and returned again.

"Where’s Headmaster Dumbledore?" he approached Kael and asked, "Wasn’t he still attending the wedding at noon? How did he suddenly disappear?"

"Professor Dumbledore had some urgent business and has already left," Kael said without turning his head, while slightly sidestepping to dodge a green light.

The Killing Curse, an extraordinarily unique piece of dark magic, with dual empowerment from magic power and malice, greatly restrains the Iron Armor Spell, making Kael unsure if he can withstand it. It’s better to be cautious.

His evasion, however, seemed to light up Bellatrix’s eyes. She appeared to awaken from her stupor, shrieking to gather the surrounding Death Eaters.

At least twenty hooded figures flew over, forming a massive circle, encircling Kael and Sirius, among others.

"Avada..."

Under Bellatrix’s lead, the light emitted from the Killing Curse almost illuminated the entire sky.

"We’re doomed!" Lupin desperately grabbed Tonks’s hand, turned to Kael and said, "Run, don’t mind us!"

With so many Killing Curses attacking at once, escape was impossible. Even if they evaded the first wave, they could not avoid the second, third... Without reinforcements, being hit was only a matter of time.

But Kael was different, as Lupin had observed earlier, Kael could freely use apparition in combat.

This meant that what others saw as certain death was nothing to him; he could easily leap out of the encirclement.

Whether one could use apparition during battle was also an important criterion for distinguishing a wizard’s strength.

Regrettably, no one present but Kael could do it, and they could only delay by constantly changing their positions.

The only slight relief was that the Killing Curse, unlike other charms, could not be used casually and took longer to cast, which granted them some breathing room.

"I can’t," Kael shook his head.

"Listen, Kael, now’s not the time to be stubborn!" Sirius urged anxiously, "Go, if this continues, we’ll all die here."

"No, I can’t." Kael shook his head again and then added, "I mean it literally, the malice from the Killing Curse is too overwhelming, making it nearly impossible to use apparition under such conditions, not even Dumbledore could manage it."

"Then we’re finished!" Sirius felt a wave of despair.

He himself didn’t mind, having prepared to face death twenty years ago, but Kael was different. With the talents he had shown, his future achievements would be limitless, not meant to end here.

"Moonface, be ready to fight for our lives," Sirius clenched his teeth, "No matter what, we must get Kael out of here!"

"No problem," Lupin said calmly; he and Sirius shared the same thought.
