Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards

Two days passed until Fengyu got a message from Silver Shadow saying the twins had broken through and were now stabilising their cultivation.

Fengyu knew that without his meticulous preparations, stabilisation would inevitably take some time.

Considering their year-long friendship, he finally decided to wait longer so that he could go together with them.

In the meantime he could prepare to move out and tell his ducks not to reproduce any longer.

A month passed by in quick succession when Fengyu saw the twins coming into his field with big smiles on their faces.

"Senior brother, we both want to thank you deeply for giving us the insight into breaking through!" Ming and Ling bowed and cupped their hands, truly performing the act of acknowledging a teacher.

Fengyu smiled and accepted the bow before telling them to stand up, "You don’t have to worry too much about it. This is something a senior brother has to do."

The twins nodded and looked at each other for a moment before speaking up about something they had thought about for a long time.

"Senior brother... a few years ago, both Ming-ge and I suddenly saw an image appear in front of us. Ling explained cautiously after looking around and making sure there was no stranger around.

The two looked in surprise at Fengyu, realising the other person likely experienced the same and was even further on this path!

The three first went to the Village Hall, formally ending their rent. They didn’t get the money they paid for the remaining months back.

After asking about entry into the city, the clerk processed it and simply handed back their tokens, telling them to get a recommendation from the general store.

With the recommendation and their identity token, they could directly go to the city without having to come back.

Fengyu was surprised and only now realised how much power the steward held – it was no wonder that the clerk at the start told him that getting close to the steward was extremely important.

He and the twins gave some gifts to the clerk, a few more than they had done previously, then left the Village Hall and walked to the general store right next to it.

As always at the top of the store there was the big plaque reading – Green Plum Store.

Fengyu told the guards to look over his cart before moving in.

"Steward!" he called out as he walked in.

"Fengyu, Ming and Ling! It seems my guess was right, you have truly reached this stage so quickly!" the steward came out not surprised at their entrance, greeting them with a warm smile.

At the start of this month, he had seen both groups selling their things before their usual time, their items partially unripe. He had still bought the items at full price because he had guessed today’s interactions.

"The steward is wise. We three are about to leave the village and go to the city. For this we wanted to first say goodbye, and secondly get the recommendation letter."

"Mhm, I’ve prepared them already." The steward nodded and took out two letters, handing them to the twins, before taking out another letter with more lining, giving it to Fengyu.

"The letter you two are receiving is a normal recommendation letter. It allows you to enter the city and is proof of your profession of spiritual planting.

Fengyu, the letter I gave you... is because of the private transactions. Using this letter, you will be able to enjoy a small privilege when you first enter the city, mostly in the renting office.

I just hope that after you enter the city, you will continue to sell to our Green Plum Store!"

The steward didn’t hide anything and directly stated everything.

Fengyu looked at him, understanding what the other party meant.

He smiled slightly while nodding, "As long as I produce ducks, I will make sure to sell at least a portion to the Green Plum Store!"
