Chapter 93: Biomass Surgery
Aiden and Karina headed to Amaela’s room. Most of the apartment was unaware of her existence. Only the residents of the fifteenth floor knew about her.
The door was flung open the moment he knocked. Amaela was eagerly awaiting Aiden’s arrival so he could get her daily dose of sadistic love and lunged to hug him.
"I’ve been a bad girl—"
"Take her," Aiden said, turning sideways to dodge her.
Amaela’s claws hugged the air before Karina grabbed her by the waist and pulled the lightweight vampire onto her shoulders.
Then, without exchanging another word, all of them took the elevator down to the basement floor. The ghouls, as usual, were hard at work.
"Tsk, what a drag..." Aiden clicked his tongue in frustration.
Aiden had given three ghouls a mission to kill themselves by the time he got there. Unfortunately, the ghouls didn’t understand, or they simply disobeyed his orders.
It made sense since Amaela was the one who created them, so she was the only one who could end them as well.
Aiden could have killed them himself or made Karina do it, but he was afraid that doing so would make them lose some biomass. Since the whole point of killing them was to get biomass, that method wasn’t something Aiden wanted to execute.
Hence, Amaela had to come in herself. However, it seemed things would be difficult, given her strange reaction.
"Aw... my babies!" Amaela cooed, reaching out with her claws to pat the hobgoblin ghoul as it passed by her.
Since she couldn’t naturally have babies with a human, in her twisted mind, Amaela thought of the ghouls as her babies with Aiden.
It didn’t make them any less disgusting, but Amaela didn’t care. They were her babies, and Aiden was their father, that was it.
"This one, that one, and the other one," Aiden said, randomly pointing at three human ghouls in the distance. "Kill them."
"WHAT!?" Amaela exclaimed. "How did you—?"
"I wasn’t asking for your opinion," Aiden cut her off, nodding at Karina, who put Amaela down.
"But, Aiden—"
Suddenly, Aiden’s hand shot out, clamping around her neck. Instead of panicking, Amaela let out a moan, enjoying Aiden’s tight grip around her neck.
"If you do what I ask of you, I’ll agree to one of your wishes," he whispered. "As long as it isn’t something disgraceful."
Amaela didn’t even look away from him. She just waved her hand once. Immediately, instead of three, six ghouls stopped doing whatever they were doing and snapped their necks. In her excitement, she forgot about Aiden’s requirement and killed more than needed.
"Done!" Amaela exclaimed, caressing Aiden’s hand around her neck. "Now for the wish—ouch!"
Before she could say anything more, Aiden dropped her to the ground.
"Stop overacting," Aiden rolled his eyes. "You don’t even feel pain from my smacks. Falling on your fatass wouldn’t cause any pain to you either."
"...it was instinct," Amaela grumbled.
Meanwhile, Aiden brought out some bags, giving them to Karina.
"Help me bring these to the medicare center," he said.
Karina nodded and took them and began putting the corpses inside.
"As you can see, I am quite busy at the moment," he told Amaela. "Your reward would have to wait until later."
"Oh! I need to prepare for our date!"
"It’s not a date—ugh..."
Before Aiden could tell her that, Amaela took the elevator back to her room to prepare for the night. Even though he told her not to wish for anything unsavory, he had a feeling she would do exactly that.
[You walked right into that one, Host.]
"...no time to waste."
The two of them hauled the corpses back to the medicare center. It was still crowded, and people couldn’t help but stare at the two, thinking more people had been found outside. Only they were beyond saving.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the operating theater was grim. Jewell’s hands were inside Dexter’s cavity, working around the puncture wound, when the doors to the room were kicked open.
Aiden walked in with a body bag while Karina followed with another two. With a bag on his shoulder, he pointed at the nurse and then snapped his fingers, pointing outside.
"Out, now!"
The nurses stopped for a moment, looking at Jewell. Their previous training made them recognize only him as the figure to obey inside the operating theater.
"What are you all looking at me for? The boss said out means out!" Jewell yelled.
After seeing how Aiden had dealt with James, Jewell didn’t want to end up on Aiden’s wrong side just because of the stupid nurses. That’s why he yelled at them.
The nurses rushed out without wasting another second. As soon as the last one was out, Karina dropped the body bags and shut the doors.
"I need Dexter alive," Aiden said, opening the body bags. "These here are for the biomass you’d need."
Hearing Aiden talk about biomass, Jewell’s hands stopped for a moment.
"You know about—"
"I know everything that happens in this building," Aiden cut him off. "Don’t waste time and just tell me if you need more biomass!"
Jewell looked at the bodies and then shook his head.
"I haven’t used the class abilities yet..." he mumbled. "I have no idea what should be enough."
"Get to work, then!" Aiden said, casually leaning on the wall.
Jewell walked over to one ghoul and held his right hand over it. He had no idea how to activate the skill [Biomass Extract], but a second later, his hand began to glow faintly.
The next second, the ghoul’s corpse disintegrated, turning into dust. Simultaneously, a notification appeared before him.
[Biomass reserve: 24/100]
Just twenty-four? It wasn’t enough to use both skills even once, like he would need to do in this case.
Jewell looked at the remaining corpses and hurriedly wolfed them down as well.
[Biomass reserve: 82/100]
"Shit... this is barely enough to use each skill once," he mumbled, looking at Aiden.
"Use what you have first to seal his chest," Aiden replied, turning to Karina. "Bring over the remaining corpses."
Karina didn’t know what was going on there. She was surprised to see the corpses disappear into thin air like cotton candy in water. However, Aiden’s words snapped her back to the present as she rushed out.
Meanwhile, Jewell, on instinct, put both his hands above his chest cavity like he was about to give him CPR. His hands began glowing again.
Only this time, instead of flesh disappearing, it poured out of his hand like cement from a tanker and filled the cavity. Simultaneously, the reserve counter dropped from 82 to just 3.
[Skill: Blood Sealant consumed 68 units of Biomass.]
[Skill: Flesh Stitching consumed 11 units of Biomass.]
The biomass was gone, but Dexter’s vitals stabilized a bit. After all, the rest of his wounds weren’t life-threatening and were already bandaged, giving Jewell a chance to breathe.
"Good job," Aiden said, patting his shoulders.
Jewell looked back at him and smiled. Aiden’s praise felt good, but the feeling of using his powers was even more exhilarating, and he couldn’t wait to use them again. Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait for long as Karina rushed in with three more corpses.
